I got home that day with a lot of time to spare, contemplating what to do with my time, I decided to learn more about secret skills.

“System, what can you tell me about secret skills?”

“Huh, and what conditions caused me to acquire access to render?”

Now I was confused. I unlocked the render skill because I’d been regressed? Did that mean I wasn’t the only one who had access to the system? I had to ask.

“ System, am I the only one who has access to you?”

There it went again talking about the code. “What is the code anyway?”

‘I guess I’ll lay off for now’ I thought, whatever the code was I knew I would find out sooner or later.

I still had a lot of free time and didn’t know what to do with it, I still hadn’t gotten an email from Ariel so that also wasn’t an option.

I decided to contact Logan again, I felt weird as we’d spoken just about an hour ago, but having nothing else to do I decided to put my plan in motion.

I sent him an email and our conversation went thus:

*Logan, I think it’s time we begin to put my plan in motion, I have little information on how to purchase shares of a company so I’ll need you to guide me through what I need to do. Reply me as soon as you get this.*

“Well that’s easy, all you need is a brokerage account which you can set up in about 15 minutes. When we previously purchased stocks I simply used mine but now that we’re considering investing in company shares I think you consider creating yours.”

*What is a brokerage account and how do I make one?* I felt embarrassed at the fact that with all my knowledge of stocks and the stock market I didn’t know basic information.

“A brokerage account is basically an account that holds financial assets such as securities on behalf of an investor with a bank, broker or custodian. Investors and traders typically have a securities account with the broker or bank they use to buy and sell securities.”

*Could you make your explanation a little easier to understand?*

“Sure thing Malcolm, it’s basically an investment account that allows you to buy and sell a variety of investments, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and ETFs. Whether you're setting aside money for the future or saving up for a big purchase, you can use your funds whenever and however you want. Is that easy enough?”

*Yes I think I understand now. And how do I open a brokerage account?*

“Well that can be done from your computer, but I would advise that we do more research on pineapple and Steven Johnson first, also we need to know how much the company is currently worth to know how much we are to invest.”

*Alright, I’ll do that now and get back to you.*

And with that I began to do my research on Steven Johnson and Pineapple.

As of 2002 which was the current year, Pineapple was worth around $2.2 billion. This was a lot more than I expected and I hit a crossroads.

Even if I invested my whole net worth of $6million I would only control about 3.6 of the entire company’s shares.

This was something I could not have, and now I was desperate. How could I make enough money to control at least 25% of Pineapple’s shares?

I was about to go to Logan to ask for advice, and then it hit me. I couldn’t believe I’d forgotten about this factor and chastised myself for forgetting….spit coins.

Spit coins were an online currency that gained headway around 2009 and were invented by Satushi Nishatomo.

It was 2002 and he’d be around 27 years of age at the time. After Doing more research on him I realized that he’d had the idea to create spit coins for years but was never granted the funding to enact this dream of his.

I would give him those funds. If I could manage to be a co-founder of spit coins, then I could forever forget about wealth being my problem in my second life.

I instantly emailed Logan and explained this idea to him.

“Spit coins? I mean I’d heard of the concept a couple of times but I never really paid attention to it. It just seemed like the ramblings of an unemployed adult trying to make headway. Are you sure it’s legitimate?”

*Logan, have I ever been wrong?*

“Well no, but you’ve never proposed something of this scale, if it fails you’d really be bankrupt and on a large scale.”

*I can understand you being skeptical but I need you to trust me on this Logan, if it fails I’ll find a way to get you your share of the money back. That I can guarantee you.*

“It’s not about the money Malcolm, I just don’t want to see you fail. You’re my friend now and changed my life in such a short time that I could never even dream of.”

*Just trust me on this one Logan, I promise it’ll work*

“Alright then, what do we need to do first?”

*First we need to contact Satushi and make him work for us at all costs*

And with that Logan and I began to plot out the procedures for the plan. We stayed up for hours thinking up strategies to get Satushi’s trust and it was late in the night when we finally finished.

I was tired but felt accomplished and as I lay on my bed, I embraced the prospect of a good night's rest after a hard day of work.
