“After you,” he said in a tight voice, urgency permeating his voice.

The hands of Bella were slick with sweat; she climbed down with care. The ladder moaned under her weight but it did not snap. Keith was having the hatch above him sealed behind him.

They were standing in an old corridor for maintenance, long abandoned and smelling of the dust and mildew. On the walls, there were pipes and some of them leaked slowly. Flickering bulbs created creepy shadows, which moved about them.

Bella shivered. “Where does this lead?”

Keith pointed ahead. “Emergency exit. As a part of the construction of the building initially. People have not touched it for years.”

They moved quickly but cautiously. At every few steps Keith would stop, listen. One turn, they heard voices as Barry’s men located another parallel way.

At Leonard’s question,John’s face immediately flushed with red-hot fury, his pride burning under the weight of the man’s indifference.“You, You don’t recognize me?”John spat, his voice raised, a mocking smile twisting his lips.“How can you not know who I am? I’m John Davison! From the Davison family—the third great family of Oklahoma!”He rose from the chair abruptly, hands splayed on the polished wood of the desk as he leaned forward. His chest heaved with anger.“I don’t care how ‘special’ you think you are,” he seethed, turning sharply to one of the towering men behind him.“Teach this nobody a lesson.”The command was swift. One of John’s bodyguards, dressed in tailored black and exuding menace, stepped forward without hesitation. The room chilled with anticipation.Leonard’s expression did not change. Not a flicker of fear crossed his features. The bodyguard moved with ruthless precision, his arm outstretched, fist aiming for Leonard’s jawCrack!A scream tore through th

  • John’s Outburst:

In that moment, Harry's hand seemed to have freeze right in the middle of the air.Leonard is here? The name surfaced in his memories and his fingers twitched ever so slightly. No hint of a text;No call;No hint of a visit. This was far from Leonard’s persona. He was the type of man who always had a purpose with whatever it was that he chose to do. As they sat on the other side of the desk, John sat observing with eyebrows knitted together in confusion and suspicion while looking at Harry’s face morphing ever so slightly. He was intrigued by Harry’s reaction to the secretary’s announcement. The man who was speaking authoritatively at him suddenly became as a meek as a cat. Was it fear that he saw in his eyes? But, Harry Hades feared no man. It was something else. Caution perhaps? Respect? Rare… but not impossible. John had heard that name before. Leonard. It clicked. The Styles party. He was the man his father had mentioned offhand that evening. The one who showed u

  • Power Play In Oklahoma:

John Davison entering through the glass doors stirred the atmosphere within the Hades Corporation building. His presence commanded attention, and with a perfectly tailored suit black as night, he made power tangible. His reputation, ruthless and domineering, was augmented by the well-kept salt-and-pepper hair and sharply defined jawline. Conversations hushed and postures stiffened as he entered. “OMG! Isn’t that John Davison?!” One of the employees exclaimed in the rush.“Yes! I wonder what he's doing here.”“Haven’t you heard? Mr Harry cancelled all collaborations with the Davison’s family. I’m sure he’s here to settle some scores!”John was flanked by two guards, dressed in black, mingling with the crowd while observing every detail with hawk-like intensity. With every step, they added to the rhythm of oppression in the atmosphere. As John Davison entered, the receptionist trembled slightly, picking up the phone to call Harry’s secretary. “Ms Smith, I have Mr. Davison on the li

There was a beat of silence on the other end.“It’s been just a little over a month since we last spoke,”Leonard reiterated, “Styles wa

  • The Davisons:

That night, Keith sat at his apartment, files sprawled across his dining table. One in particular caught his eye—a cross-reference of investors and shell companies. Most of the connections were dead ends… except one.He hadn’t thought of them in months. The Davisons were powerful, discreet, and infamously detached from the public spotlight. But their name popped up—barely—in a transfer to a subsidiary recently restructured into a tech-based logistics competitor now bidding aggressively for the same contracts Marshall Corp had its eyes on.Keith’s phone buzzed.Leonard.He picked up. “Hey.”“I have news,” Leonard said without greeting. “The competitor targeting Marshall? We ran a full audit trail. It's being funded through proxies—offshore firms, fake holdings. But we finally traced the money.”Keith sat forward. “Let me guess. The Davison family.”A long pause. Then Leonard cursed. “You found it too.”“They’re not just watching Marshall Corp,” Keith said. “They’re moving in.”Leonard’
