As Morgana kept her gun pointed at Justin’s head, the tense silence in the boutique was shattered by the heavy doors flying open. And one by one, about twenty palace soldiers stormed inside with their boots echoing loudly against the marble floor.

Their uniforms were unmistakable. They wore black uniforms with dark red trim, and gold badges shaped like a serpent wrapped around a flame pinned to their chests. Their boots gleamed and their swords hung at their hips, and each one had a dagger strapped to their knees.

But among them, one man stood out. He was taller, broader, and more intimidating than the rest. His uniform was slightly different. Instead of the red trim, his was edged with a darker shade of maroon, and a wolf-shaped medallion hung around his neck as the mark of a high-ranking commander. This was Solomon. The head of the palace security. But now, he is just a man that has been assigned by the queen to her brother in order to protect him.

  • 083. Mr Roosevelt Of Drakmont

The Roosevelt mansion was exactly what one would expect from one of the most influential families in Drakmont. It was a sprawling mansion with tall white pillars guarding the grand entrance, large windows framed by heavy curtains, and perfectly trimmed hedges lining the wide driveway.Inside, crystal chandeliers hung from high ceilings, and polished wooden floors reflected the soft glow of golden lamps. The party hall was just as grand as anyone would expect. The air was filled with the sweet smell of fancy perfumes, expensive colognes, and the rich scents of fine wine and delicious food from faraway places. It was the kind of place where power and wealth were obvious in every detail.Asher and his mother walked into the big hall where the event was already lively. Men in sharp suits and flashy jewelry moved around the room, chatting with one another in hushed tone, sipping expensive liquor.“You can tell a man’s worth by the kind of gathering he pulls,” one said as he swirled a glass

  • 082. Queen Ladin

The room was warm and smelled faintly of jasmine oil and clean linen. At that moment, Queen Ladin, the ruler’s wife, Justin's sister, was seated gracefully in front of a giant, beautifully framed mirror. She was a striking woman in her late thirties, with elegant features and smooth, pale skin that made her look younger than her age. Her long, dark hair was being carefully styled by a group of maids. Her back was to the door when Justin stormed in.The second he barged into the room, raging and demanding answers, the maids instantly lowered their heads with their hands trembling slightly as they tried to keep working. None of them dared look his way. They all knew Justin’s reputation. He was quick-tempered, unpredictable, and dangerously spoiled because of his sister’s influence. He could lash out over the smallest thing, and the maids had learned the hard way that it was safer not to meet his eyes. But Queen Ladin didn’t flinch. She didn’t even turn her head. It was as if Justin’s o

  • 081. A Lowlife Higher Than Royalty

After those cold words, Asher didn’t say anything else right away. He just gave Justin a small smile. But it wasn’t a warm or friendly one, it was the kind of smile that hides something dangerous underneath. It was calm on the outside, but one could sense something dark lurking behind it.Then, in a quiet and almost gentle voice which somehow made it even scarier, he said, “I’ll be waiting to hear from you, Justin.”The way he said it so casually made Justin visibly shudder. It wasn’t loud, but it sounded eerier and carried weight, like a final warning no one else in the room could fully explain. And then, without another word, he turned and walked away slowly. Every step he took, every little movement, was watched by the terrified eyes of everyone in the room, the soldiers, the staff. As he walked, the room felt smaller and every throat tightened as he passed. At that moment, only one question hung in everyone’s mind, Who’s next? Because right then, Asher felt like a storm moving thr

  • 080. His Unbearable Ego

As Asher kept moving closer, Justin’s heart was pounding so loud that he swore he could hear it. But his pride, that stubborn, useless ego wouldn’t let him back down completely.“D-Don’t you fucking dare come any closer!” he shouted, but his voice cracked at the end, giving him away. “Do you even know who I am?! I’ll deal with you! I’ll—”But Asher didn’t stop. Not for a second and each step he took was its own answer. I’m coming for you. And nothing, no name, no title, no connection is going to stop it.Then, Justin saw the calm, deadly look in Asher’s face. It was like a wolf closing in on a rabbit trying to act tough when it was already cornered. And it hit him like a punch to the gut. He was the rabbit. With this realization, his confidence and the arrogance he held onto crumbled and his words turned desperate. “Y-You can’t touch me! I’m the ruler’s wife’s brother, you hear me?!”But nobody was buying it. Not anymore.Meanwhile, the sales rep who had shoved Eleanor earlier was now

The room was thick with tension like a live wire stretched to its breaking point. A dagger at Eleanor’s throat, a gun to Justin’s head and soldiers ready for a fight.Suddenly, a gunshot went off, but this time, it wasn’t a warning shot in the air, it was clean, sharp, and aimed. And in that split second, heads turned around toward the sound, and eyes followed the smoke trail back to its source. At the same time, Solomon’s eyes widened in shock and a dark red stainspread across his chest. Before anyone could react, his dagger slipped from his grip and his massive frame staggered once before collapsing like a felled tree behind Eleanor. Then, a pool of dark blood quickly spread beneath him.Eleanor stood frozen and her face got pale as she looked down at the man who had a blade to her throat just seconds before. The entire room, including the soldiers, seemed to stop existing for a moment. Then, all eyes turned to the doorway. There, standing tall and calm, was Asher, with his arms sti
