Evacuate or Stay

"Sir, didn't you order me to accompany Princess Gilda? My wife couldn't bear to watch her walk alone into the woods."

Apsel came over to Emmett by order. Previously, while Gilda was still in the village, Emmett ordered him to accompany Gilda to find Ramy in the Dark forest. But for some reason, after Gilda walked, Emmet gave another order instead. That is, staying quiet in the village of Tanee and not going anywhere. At first, Apsel felt confused by the Master's painting attitude. But, finally, he couldn't do anything about it and could only obey his happiness.

"Are you stupid or what? I told you, don't go anywhere and stay here until I give you new orders!"

"O-Ok, Sir. B-but... Princess Gilda...."

"Don't too much thinking about my daughter, who is none of your business! You got it?! After all, when did your wife dare to interfere in your work affairs, Apsel?!"

Apsel just silently nodded according to the Master's orders. He couldn't do much because, at this time, Emmett seemed to be furious. At least the villagers are aware of the change in Emmett's attitude, especially since Hela's gone. The father of Princess Gilda became more arrogant and did not want to hear opinions from others.

"Now, come home, you to your house. Wait until I give you another order," Emmett concluded without looking at Apsel in the slightest.

Apsel nodded in agreement. He went leaving his Master, who seemed stressed thinking about something. Arriving home, Apsel's wife began to greet her husband with thousands of questions. This happened because he was very curious about the current condition of Gilda and Emmett's daughter.

"My feet just stepped on a floor in this house, and you've already hit me with those questions? So please, give me time to rest for a while!" explained Apsel to his wife.

"Alright. I'm just worried about Princess Gilda's current condition."

"Please bring me a glass of water," Apsel ordered his wife.

A few minutes later, Apsel's wife brought a glass of water that her husband had smitten over. With her hands shaking slightly, she was a little afraid of her husband's anger that seemed to overflow this har.

"I'm already tired of all this. That guy got me stuck in a difficult situation. If only we could go far from this village, maybe we would live carefree from the Valrick family."

Apsel looked up his head over the chair. He stared at the ceiling of his house made of some wood and thatch. He looked tired and desperate for something.

"Can't it, once we don't think about that family? My brain needs to breathe to think about all this. First Mr. Emmett, now, you. You guys can command without asking if I'm tired or not?!"

"But, from a long time ago, Mrs. Valrick chose us as the people she entrusted. We already think of Gilda as her child. I'm worried about her," Apsel's wife replied.

"Listen, we have a life of our own! Don't keep thinking about other people's children!"

"Then, what should we do now?"

"There's nothing we have to do. Just shut up and listen to Mr. Emmett's orders. Either way, we still live in this village and must obey his orders. If you think we owe the Valrick family, serve them even if you don't want to!" revealed Apsel.

The atmosphere in the morgue village is no longer warm since Hela's gone. Although Gilda is also a kind, firm, and loving daughter like the mother, still, something is missing. Hela's departure left anguish in the hearts of the villagers of Tanee, especially the residents who had been helped by Emmett Valrick's late wife.

In his reverie, Emmett stared in any direction while thinking of his wife, who was now gone. The more he remembered it, the greater his grudge against the Jotuns.

"I'm sorry, Gilda. Unfortunately, I can't accompany you to the Dark forest for one reason. But dad is sure you will come back without bare hands. I always pray that you will always be protected along the way to the Jotun's residence," Emmett muttered the monologue.

Knock Knock

"Master! Mr. Emmett!"

Someone's shout broke the middle-aged man's reverie. Instantly he gasped as he was sure it was a shout from one of his citizens. It hasn't been a second since he can feel the calmness when he is alone. Now someone has disturbed him again.

'What do these guys really want?! It can only be complaining and complaining!'

Emmett also walked quickly towards the door. But, unfortunately, annoyance can no longer be contained because of the problems that always come constantly.

Half-rough, he opened the door of his house with both eyeballs rounded.

"What's the matter? Why are you screaming?!" asked Emmett with a frown on his forehead.

"S-Sir, some residents decided to evacuate from this village. Is it true our village is no longer safe?" said one of the residents. The tone of his speech sounded very panicked. Speaking of him was like out of focus. The person occasionally looked around very uneasily as if something terrible was happening to him.

"What?! Now what?! Why problems are everywhere?!" exclaimed Emmett with bulging eyes. Emmett walked as he dispelled the residents with his arms. He ran a small run towards some residents preparing to leave the village.

"Where are you guys going?! I didn't order you to leave here!" the village elder shouted.

"Master, we are forced to do this for our family's safety. We think the village has been unsafe since Ramy's abduction. The longer we stayed here, everything became a time bomb for our family, who would later be kidnapped by Jotuns one by one. Plus, with the departure of Princess Gilda. So we feel unsettled every day, Sir," said one of the heads of the family.

"Oh, so... you guys don't consider my presence here? I'm here to protect your family! Gilda is weak! She's not as strong as me!" said Emmett with emotions that seemed to peak.

"But... That's not what we mean, Sir. We just...."

"Shut up already! Now, go back to your own homes! Or else..."

Emmett's remarks instantly stopped. His two eyeballs were wide open with a gasped breath. A look accompanied the man's hand holding his chest in his face of pain.

"Sir, please! Help Mr. Emmett!" said the citizen talking to him earlier.

Villagers flocked to help Emmett walk back to his home. But, unfortunately, this kind of thing is not only experienced once by the man because he has a severe internal disease. Even so, residents are still worried about their health, which will not recover. Usually, the pain appears when Emmett's emotions are as unstable as they are today.

Still, in a weak state, Emmett lay unconscious on his bed. Some residents panicked, but some didn't care. Some take advantage of this incident to escape. They do that without knowing about the rampage of the elder of the Village of Tanee.

"Watch out... get out of the way of all of you," Apsel hissed, interrupting the crowd approaching Emmett.

Seeing Apsel's reaction, the residents still swarming Emmett also turned their bodies and returned to their homes. So now, only Apsel and Emmett are in the room.

"Sir, are you sick again? You'd better rest a lot. I am afraid that Mr.'s health condition is declining every day," Apsel said.

"Please, get a drink in the golden cup on the table," Emmett said in a quivering tone as he pointed in one direction with his index finger.

Swiftly, Apsel quickly picked up the cup. Although panicked, he had to carry it carefully because the cup was hundreds of years old. It's the cup that the ancestors of the Valrick family gave her down-and-down. The carved five stallions on the glass provide a luxurious and elegant impression. Over the years, Emmett has always used the cup for drinking anything if any family member is sick. Including himself at the moment. The magical power in the cup is believed to be able to cure all diseases even in a gradual way.

"Here, Sir."

Apsel pushed out a golden cup filled with drinking water according to Emmett's request.

"Ahh... thank you, Apsel," Emmett said with a small smile while enduring the pain.

"You're welcome, Sir. Are you feeling better now?" asked Apsel.

"I have. You can go," Emmett said softly.

Apsel left Emmett's residence. Outside, he watched the village's situation, which was not doing well. In his view, the town of Tanee seemed to be quieter than usual. Only a few families are still living, and a look of confusion accompanies it on their faces.

"Where did the others go?" asked Apsel at one of his surviving neighbors.

"They're gone, Apsel. What about you? Are you going to still live in this village?" asked the man who sat beside Apsel with a panicked face.

"Of course. We can't just leave Mr. Emmett behind. Moreover, looking at his current state. That's highly unlikely," Apsel replied.

"But, are you sure Mr. Emmett can take care of us all? Especially you and I, who still live in a messy situation like this?"

Apsel was silent for a moment. He even had time to doubt his already sickly Master. However, in any case, the Valrick family was very instrumental to Apsel, especially his family. So her little heart said that she should stay until Princess Gilda returns and Tanee's village is safe again.

"Yes, I'm pretty sure."

"Can I ask you one more thing, Apsel?"

"What's more? Isn't everything clear?" asked Apsel in a slightly raised tone.

"Are you forced to do this out of pity for Mr. Emmett?"
