“Elena,” Rafael finally called.

Elena turned to him. “What?”

“I’m going to trust you for now. But if I find out you’re playing me, I won’t hesitate to take the necessary steps.”

Elena gave a small smile. “Trust me, Rafael. I don’t have many choices either. We’ll only survive if we help each other.”

Rafael nodded. “Alright. Then, can I know what your next plan is?”

Elena sighed briefly and looked at Rafael seriously. “My plan is simple, but dangerous,” she said.

“First, I need to make sure the data I have stays safe. If it falls into their hands, everything will be ruined. I need time to crack the additional code in this file. I’m sure there’s bigger information they’re hiding.”

Rafael frowned. “Bigger information? What do you mean?”

Elena nodded. “Yes, this document isn’t just about corruption or embezzlement. I suspect there’s a larger network behind the company, maybe something involving illegal trade or other criminal activities. If we can uncover everything, we can destroy them completely.”

Rafael listened attentively. “And how do we do that? We don’t have a team, money, or major resources to fight them. All we have are me, you, and the old Jagur.”

Elena smiled slightly at Rafael’s joke. “That’s why we need to move smart. We need partners. People we can trust who have expertise in their fields.”

Rafael nodded slowly, beginning to understand Elena’s bigger picture. “Okay, so we gather a team. But before that, I want to know... will all of this also help me get the proper revenge on Elias?”

Elena looked at Rafael with complete confidence. “If we succeed, Elias will get what he deserves. That’s a promise.”

Rafael clenched his fist. “Alright. Then, let’s do it. But you need to make sure this plan is solid. I’m not willing to take unnecessary risks.”

Elena smiled faintly. “Trust me, Rafael. I don’t want to die young either.”

“Okay… okay… Here’s the deal. You stay here and keep hiding. Do whatever you need to with that thing. I have my own plan,” said Rafael.

“What’s your plan?” Elena asked, looking at Rafael with curiosity.

“It’s still a secret. I’ll tell you later, once everything is over,” Rafael said, not intending to reveal the system he controlled to Elena.

Elena squinted at him. “You’re not going to betray me, are you?” she asked.

“Oh, come on, Elena. My face is already known to those big criminals. Thanks to you, my life is in danger too,” Rafael scoffed.

Elena smiled faintly at Rafael’s response. “Alright. But remember, Rafael, we’re in the same boat now. If one of us sinks, the other sinks too,” she said, half-warning.

Rafael shrugged. “Just trust me, like I trust you, even if it’s half-hearted,” he replied while grabbing his jacket. “I’m going out for a bit. If anything happens, lock the door and don’t open it for anyone.”

“Aren’t you planning to provide any food, or maybe a clean blanket, or some clothes? I need all of that,” Elena asked.

“Goodness. This is really a hassle!” he complained.

Rafael sighed deeply, looking at Elena with annoyance. “You know I’m not a walking supermarket, right? But fine, I’ll get all that for you. But be patient, I’m not a billionaire who can shop at will.”

Elena just stared at Rafael with a flat expression. “I’m not asking for much. Just the basics to survive in this place. Besides, if I get sick, you’ll be the one who’ll be troubled, right?”

“True,” Rafael muttered as he closed the door. “Wait here, don’t go out. And don’t touch anything suspicious.”

Elena sneered. “It seems like you’re more suspicious than anything in this house.”

Rafael just shook his head as he descended the stairs with heavy steps. In his heart, he cursed the situation that forced him to become the caretaker of a mysterious woman. But despite all his complaints, he knew saving Elena might be a crucial step in his bigger plan.

Rafael left his grandmother’s house with quick steps. Outside, he let out a deep breath, his mind filled with plans and risks he had to take. He grabbed his phone and opened the system.

“System, I need a strategic move. What can I do now to speed up my plan?” he muttered while tapping the phone screen.

The system quickly responded:

“Strategic Move: Contact potential partners who can help fight Elias. Gather additional evidence to strengthen your position. Locations and identities of potential partners have been uploaded to the directory.”

Rafael read the names and locations that appeared on the screen. One name caught his attention: Dirk Morrison, a former coworker. Rafael was sure Dirk also knew important information about the company that had been a battleground for them.

“Dirk, huh? Seems like I need to meet him first,” Rafael muttered, then entered Dirk’s location into the GPS.

Without waiting any longer, Rafael got into Jagur and started driving. Inside the car, his mind kept spinning. “If this system can really help me, I’ll make Elias and his cronies pay dearly for everything they’ve done.”

Rafael gripped the steering wheel tightly, his gaze focused on the road ahead, though his thoughts were filled with plans and possibilities.

“Dirk is the key. If he knows something, I can start piecing together the puzzle,” he muttered.

The system gave another notification on his phone screen:

“Hint: Dirk Morrison is smart but calculating. Make sure to approach him with strategy.”

Rafael read the message and sighed softly. “Smart but calculating? Sounds like someone who won’t help without compensation. Great, just one more troublesome person,” he said sarcastically.

After a while, he arrived at a small bar on the outskirts of town, the location displayed on his GPS. The place looked shabby, with a nearly falling sign and flickering neon lights. Rafael parked Jagur in a quiet spot and stepped out, scanning the surroundings cautiously.

“Hope he’s here,” he muttered as he entered the bar. Inside, the dim atmosphere smelled of cigarette smoke and strong alcohol. In the corner, he spotted a large man with messy hair, wearing a leather jacket, sipping his beer. Rafael recognized him—Dirk Morrison.

Rafael took a deep breath before approaching the table. “Dirk Morrison?” he asked, staring at the man.

Dirk turned slowly, his sharp eyes locking onto Rafael. “Who’s asking?” he replied in a low, cold voice.

“I’m Rafael. Your former coworker. We worked at Mauve, and now I need to talk.”

Dirk narrowed his eyes, took another sip of his beer, and then said flatly, “If you’re here to talk about the past, I suggest you leave now. I’m done with that.”

Oh, by the way, is the grand opening party for the café still happening tonight?" Rafael asked."Yes, Elena and Dirk already went to buy lots of beer for the party," Sienna answered."Alright then, I'm going to take a shower first. See you at the dining table later," Rafael said before walking away.Sienna watched him leave. "That man is completely insane! What exactly is he planning?" she muttered. "Damn it, I'm too curious—and I actually want to be part of his plan."She descended the stairs, her mind still filled with the cunning schemes Rafael had just hinted at."Manipula

"Uncle!" Sienna called out as she climbed up to the third floor, only to find Rafael working out in the gym, wearing only sweatpants, his upper body bare."What is it?" Rafael asked."You were looking for me. Why?" Sienna asked as she sat on one of the benches."Yeah, I have something to ask you. Just wait a moment. I'm not done yet. Sit tight and enjoy the beautiful view," Rafael said, continuing his workout."What a beautiful view! You're so skinny," Sienna teased."Hey! You perverted kid. I meant the aquarium beside you, dummy. There are fish in it—just watch them," Rafael replied."Why would I? I don’t even like colorful fish," Sienna retorted."Tsk... You really don’t understand beauty," Rafael muttered.Rafael finished his last set and wiped the sweat off his face with a towel. He walked over to Sienna and sat down on the bench across from her. "Alright, I'm done now. I want to ask you something."Sienna looked at Rafael curiously. "What is it?""You once said you were part of B

He poured a drink into a glass and handed it to Martin."Sit down for a bit," Rafael said, patting the chair beside him.Martin nodded and took the seat next to Rafael. He took the offered glass and sipped the drink. "Thanks," he murmured. The café was silent. Only the ticking of the clock and the faint rustling of the wind outside the window could be heard."You look exhausted," Rafael commented, studying Martin closely. "Is something wrong out there?"Martin let out a deep sigh, leaning back in his chair. "The survey went well. But that place is heavily guarded. Cameras everywhere. Their guards even use advanced communication devices."Rafael nodded slowly, his gaze sharp. "

Rafael stepped out of his room upon hearing the commotion. He walked towards the cafe and was surprised to see several thugs there. The customers looked frightened, and Elena was seen arguing with them. Coincidentally, Dirk and Martin were out on an errand assigned by Rafael."What's going on?" Rafael asked as he approached Elena."They came demanding money, claiming they own this place," Elena explained."Who is he? Your boss?" one of the thugs asked arrogantly.Rafael casually put his hands in his pockets, his face remaining calm though his eyes radiated authority. "Yes, I own this place. And who are you to come here and cause trouble in my cafe?"One of the thugs stepped forward arrogantly, his broad shoulders and condescending gaze exuding dominance. "We control this area. If you want your business to run smoothly, pay us for protection," he said with a smirk.Rafael let out a soft chuckle, his eyes scanning the frightened customers. Some were already standing, ready to leave. He

"El, wait a moment," Elena called out, stopping Rafael in his tracks. He turned to face her."Yes?" Rafael responded."I want to talk to you for a bit," Elena said."In that case, let's talk on the balcony," Rafael suggested. Elena nodded in agreement. They walked toward the balcony on the second floor and stood near the railing."This place is quite comfortable and quiet. Not too crowded or noisy," Rafael remarked.Elena gazed at the street near their shop. "Yes, at least it's a good place to hide," she replied."You're right. By the way, what did you want to talk to me about?" Rafael asked, turning to look at her."Oh, right. I wanted to ask if you're serious about your plan to establish a trade guild," Elena said. "We're fugitives, and you know NextWave's men are everywhere. We could be discovered," she continued. "And taking suppliers away from NextWave—that's going to be very difficult, right? What if those suppliers report us to them?"Rafael saw the worry and hesitation in Elen

"So, is everyone here?" Rafael asked, looking at the people in front of him."Yes, we're all here," Elena replied."How was the café today? Still busy?" Rafael asked as he sat on a single chair right in front of them in the meeting room on the second floor."Yeah, to the point where my back feels like it's about to break," Elena complained."We might need more staff to manage the café. But we can’t just hire anyone carelessly," Rafael said."Get a chef too, Uncle. So we can eat good food," Sienna added.Rafael chuckled at Sienna’s complaint. "You, always thinking about good food, huh?"Sienna shrugged without guilt. "Well, better than eating whatever’s available every day. Besides, if the food is good, customers will want to stay longer at the café."Ivory nodded in agreement. "That’s true. Especially if we create a special menu exclusive to our café. That would be a major attraction."Rafael leaned back in his chair. "Alright, we'll look for a chef. But like I said, we can’t just hir
