"For now, you're safe here," Rafael said as he opened the door to the house.

Elena looked around the dusty, small room.

"Aren't you sure? This house is small and dirty," Elena complained, pinching her nose because of the dust.

"This place is safe. Far from the city's hustle and bustle, you won't be caught here," Rafael replied as he pulled the white cloth off a chair.

"Whose house is this?" Elena asked.

"My grandmother's house. It's been empty for a long time," he answered casually.

"I don’t want to stay here!" Elena quickly refused.

Rafael stopped what he was doing and turned to look at Elena.

"Sure, go ahead. Anyway, I'm just helping you. It's not like I have anything to do with the problem you're facing," Rafael said casually, giving her a flat look.

"If you want, you can rent an apartment or a hotel, your choice."

Elena sighed.

"This place is so dirty, Rafael. How could I stay here?" she complained.

"Hey, Miss Perfectionist, I'm trying to clean this place up to make it comfortable. So, stop complaining and help me!" Rafael said, annoyed.

Elena raised an eyebrow, surprised by his tone. "Me? Help? Are you kidding?"

Rafael stood up, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at Elena. "Listen, I’m not asking for payment for helping you, but at least don't make this harder. You want to be safe, right? So, let’s clean this place together."

Elena took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Alright, alright. I'll help. But only because I have no other choice," she said as she rolled up her sleeves.

Rafael gave a small smile, feeling a little victorious. "Now that’s better. Start over there," he said, pointing to the corner of the room filled with cobwebs.

Elena frowned. "You want me to clean the cobwebs? You know I’m wearing expensive clothes, right?"

Rafael shrugged casually. "Well, it’s still better than the criminals from before," he said, making Elena huff in frustration.

Reluctantly, Elena took the rag Rafael handed her. As she cleaned the dust in the corner, she grumbled nonstop. "If I had known this was part of the rescue package, I might have just chosen to get kidnapped instead."

Rafael chuckled, amused by Elena's complaints. "Well, think of it as a new experience, Miss. Sometimes life needs a little challenge."

A few hours later, they managed to make the house look much more livable. Rafael sat on the old sofa, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "See? Not too bad, right?"

Elena looked at the room with a half-satisfied expression. "Still far from the standard, but at least I can breathe now."

Rafael smiled, taking a bottle of water from the table and handing it to Elena. "Drink up. We’ll need energy for the next problems."

Elena accepted the bottle and sat on the sofa next to Rafael. "So, what’s your plan now?"

Rafael stared at the ceiling of his grandmother’s simple house, his mind starting to plan the next steps.

"First, I need to know all the details of what you found and know."

Elena nodded slowly. "Alright, I’ll tell you everything. But make sure we’re really safe here."

Rafael gave her a faint smile. "Don’t worry. As long as you're with me, I’m sure we’re safe."

Elena just sighed. "I hope your confidence is well-placed, Rafael."

After a moment of silence, Elena took a deep breath, ready to tell everything.

"Rafael, this isn’t just about me. What I know could endanger many people. The ones chasing me are part of a large network," Elena started in a low voice, her eyes staring at Rafael seriously.

"A large network?" Rafael frowned. "Are you talking about some sort of criminal organization?"

Elena nodded. "Yes, but more than that. They have connections to high-ranking officials, big corporations, even government institutions. I worked as a financial analyst at one of their company branches. At first, I didn’t know anything. But when I started matching the numbers, I found suspicious financial flows."

Rafael listened attentively. "Financial flows? Did you find embezzlement or something like that?"

"Not just embezzlement. They use that money to fund illegal operations like human trafficking, arms dealing, even international money laundering. I’ve stored all the evidence in this drive," Elena said, showing the small flash drive she took from her bag.

Rafael looked at the flash drive with a mix of admiration and concern. "So, this is why they’re chasing you. That drive is the key to exposing their network."

Elena nodded. "Exactly. And they’ll do anything to get it back. I can’t just hand it over, but I also can’t fight them alone."

"Then, what’s the connection with Elias and me?" Rafael asked, still staring at Elena intensely.

Elena sighed, pausing for a moment before answering. "Elias... is one of the people working for them. There might be a reason why he’s targeting you. Maybe you know something."

Rafael furrowed his brows. "What could that be? I’ve always worked honestly. But I was framed by Elias for embezzling funds, and I got fired dishonorably," Rafael complained.

"Maybe because Elias is the one embezzling the funds. He deliberately made you his scapegoat because he doesn’t like you," Elena said. "That’s just my theory."

Elena looked at Rafael sharply. "I don’t know why you’re involved, but I’m sure they’re exploiting your life situation to manipulate you. Maybe, you’re just a small pawn in their bigger plan."

Rafael fell silent for a moment, processing Elena’s words. "So, I’m just a pawn in their game?" he muttered, feeling both angry and confused.

Elena shook her head. "Not entirely. You’re more than that now, Rafael. If you weren’t, they wouldn’t care about you."

Rafael stared at Elena in front of him intently. He couldn’t just trust her. What if she was trapping him even more and pulling him into a bad situation with that criminal group?

He pulled out his phone and checked Elena’s personality with the system, to see if she would be useful for his plans to build a company and take revenge on Elias and his ex-girlfriend.

The system quickly responded to Rafael’s question with a message that appeared on his phone screen:

"Profile Analysis: Elena Morales

Background: Former data analyst at a major company. Highly skilled in information security and strategic planning.

Personality: Intelligent, skeptical, but tends to be defensive around new people. Has trauma from pressure by criminal groups, but loyal to those she trusts.

Potential Usefulness:

Skills: Very useful for future company development and security.

Motivation: Wants to destroy the criminal group that ruined her life. Has ambitions that align with your revenge against Elias.

Risk: Trust must be earned. If not, she tends to act alone."

Rafael read the analysis carefully, occasionally glancing at Elena who sat on the sofa, seemingly deep in thought. The system sent an additional message:

"Recommendation: Collaborate with her. Utilize her skills to help you in your grand plan. However, stay vigilant until her trust is fully secured."

Rafael sighed deeply, putting his phone back in his pocket. Now, he had a clearer picture of this woman.

As planned, that day Rafael brought in a few trusted workers to help renovate the building. Everyone pitched in to speed things up.“Elena, are you busy?” Rafael asked as he approached her.“Oh, El. Not really. What’s up?” Elena replied, unpacking several boxes of food to help Ivory in the kitchen.“Ivory’s got some new staff helping her out now. I was wondering if you’d come with me to shop for furniture. What we brought from the old place isn’t going to be enough—more people, more rooms. I think we’ll need a lot more stuff,” Rafael explained.“Alright. Give me a second to get ready,” she said.“I’ll wait in the Jag,” Rafael replied.“Okay, El.”Rafael made his way to the parking area, slid into the sleek black Jaguar, and pulled out his phone. There was a message from Mark:“Have you seen it, El? The heirloom sword?”Rafael hadn’t replied yet. He still wondered—who exactly is Mark? And how did he know everything, including the existence of that sword? Had he been to this place befor

“Now that it's cleaned up, the place actually looks bigger,” Dirk commented, glancing around the house.“Yeah, but it still needs a lot of renovation before it’s livable. So far, I’ve checked the map—this place doesn’t even show up. Maybe that’s exactly why it’s perfect for our hideout,” Rafael replied. “We also need a proper force if we want to fight them more effectively.”“So, what’s your plan now? What about our business? I’ve already built the website, and the work program is in progress—still rough, but getting there. Maybe once it’s fully ready, we can start seeking investors,” Leonard added. They were having a light conversation after a late dinner.“Yes, we’ll keep the business going from now,” Rafael said, pausing for a moment. “Dirk, what do you think about building a mercenary force?”“Mercenaries?” Dirk frowned in confusion.“Like we planned before—we need to take over the Black Wings gang and convert their members under our command. But more than that, we’ll need to trai

Inside, lay a long sword—its hilt embedded with a radiant purple gemstone that gleamed in the dim light. He carefully picked up the sword, his eyes narrowing as he studied the intricate engravings on the scabbard.“A sword… in this era?” Rafael murmured, drawing the attention of everyone around.Tring...!“Congratulations! You have obtained the heirloom of the noble Lancasterford family!”Silence fell over the group. Their eyes locked on the sword in Rafael’s hands. The gemstone on the hilt reflected the flashlights, casting eerie shadows across the stone walls of the underground chamber.Sienna stepped closer, examining the sword with curiosity. “Uncle, what does that engraving say?”“It says Lancasterford,” Rafael replied.“Lancasterford? That name sounds familiar…” Leonard muttered, furrowing his brows. “If I’m not mistaken, they were a noble family tha

Rafael walked slowly down the dust-filled corridor, scanning every corner with caution. His hand remained close to the sheath of Phantom Edge, ready to draw at the first sign of danger. The first room he entered appeared to be an old office, filled with decaying desks. Papers littered the floor, most of them crumbling from age. Rafael sifted through a few remaining documents, hoping to find clues about who had once operated in this place.“Looks like this was some kind of base or operation center,” he muttered. He stepped into the next room, which looked like a storage area. Rows of rusty metal shelves lined the walls, some still holding tightly sealed wooden crates. Rafael opened one, and inside he found a collection of old weapons—dusty, but salvageable.“Interesting.”Suddenly, a voice called out from outside.“Hey, I found something!” Sienna shouted.Rafael quickly exited the storage room and headed toward her. She stood near the back wall of the building, pointing at an old iron

Dirk asked as he brought the van to a stop in front of a tall, rusted gate, its surface covered in spiderwebs.Rafael stepped out of his car and approached the gate, holding a key in his hand to unlock the heavy padlock. The road leading to the main building stretched about 150 meters, and the structure ahead was clearly an old one—abandoned for decades.“Al, are you sure this is the right place?” Dirk leaned his head out the van window, eyeing the creepy surroundings.“Yes, the key fits. That means this is the place,” Rafael replied calmly.Sienna climbed out of the van, scanning the area with visible hesitation. “Uncle, are you sure this place is safe? It looks more like a haunted house than a base.”Leonard walked up to the rusty gate and ran his fingers over it. “We’ll probably need a few days to clean this place up before it’s even livable.”Elena pulled out her phone, snapping a few photos of the surroundings. “The building’s structure seems solid, but there
