Chapter 006

Andrews face tightened imperceptibly. He knew Nicholas wasnt bluffing; the forces behind the Golden Leaf had a reach and power that even his illustrious family couldnt challenge easily.

Swallowing his pride, Andrew gave a curt nod, his voice steady despite the tension. I see. Then, well comply with your request.

Cassandras jaw dropped as she turned to Andrew in disbelief. Are you serious? Are we just going to let him humiliate us like this?

Andrew shot her a warning glance, his expression firm. Don't make trouble, Cassandra. Paying for our meal isnt a problem for a Morris."

Andrew masked his face with a smile and took out his card to pay the bill.

Though he was smiling, he was gritting and grinding his teeth, his jaws a little clenched.

He was cursing at her and her gluttony, she had eaten like a pig that had been starved for weeks, and now he had to pay the bill for her.

The thought of shelling out that outrageous amount had him fuming.

Though his family was a prominent one, he wasn't exactly rich as he was living off a monthly allowance from them, and the funds weren't even enough, so he had to cut down on his expenses.

But he had just arrived in Dalton City and must prioritize maintaining a good reputation and image while building connections. He couldn't afford to damage his relationship with Nicholas over just one meal.

This concerned his future prospects in the city, and offending Nicholas would be far from a wise decision.

But he concluded that he was one way or another going to get his money back, that and all the money and investment he intended to milk off Dalton City and from Cassandra as well.

Cassandra clenched her fists, glaring at Nicholas. Youll regret this, she hissed under her breath, but she didnt dare say it aloud.

She knew the Golden Leafs true backing was far beyond her fathers influenceand even Andrews familys power.

Harolds lips tightened into a grim line. While he wanted to lash out, he also understood the precarious situation. He glanced at Cassandra and Andrew, then let out a heavy sigh. Lets go,he said through gritted teeth.

Cassandra shot one last venomous look at Nicholas before storming out, Andrew trailing behind her with a grim expression.

As they exited the restaurant, Cassandra muttered under her breath, Well see who has the last laugh. Hell pay for this insultone way or another.

Harold didnt respond, his thoughts clouded by the humiliation they had just endured, while Andrew remained silent, his jaw clenched tightly.

At the same time, Vivienne had arrived at Vancouver with Richard.

It was already evening at Vancovira, but amidst the seemingly peaceful area and the evening dusk, an unease had settled over the town.

Stay away from me!A woman shouted as several men slowly closed in on her.

The leader of the group, a tall, menacing man, eyed her with an unsettling hunger. He reached for her arm, grabbing it tightly, and pulling her closer.

"Let go!" The woman yelled, trying to break free, but his grip was firm, his fingers like iron around her wrist.

Quiet,he hissed, his face inches from hers. Youll regret making a scene.

The other men stepped forward, their gazes lecherous and predatory.

You shouldve kept your mouth shut, one of them sneered, grabbing her other arm. Its too late to run now.

The woman struggled against them, kicking at the man holding her, but it was no use. She couldnt free herself from their grasp. The leader smirked as he advanced, pinning her against a nearby stall.

Youre not going anywhere,he said, his voice cold and menacing.

In a desperate attempt to escape, the woman kicked wildly, her foot catching the man closest to her in the chest. As he stumbled back, her hand tore at the fabric of his shirt. The cloth ripped, revealing a tattoo on his arm. It was a distinct, dark symbol the emblem of Primse, a mark unmistakable to anyone who knew its meaning.

The woman froze, realizing in horror that these men werent just criminals they were spies, sent by Primse.

Her eyes widened in shock, and she gasped, Youre... youre from Primse?

The leaders expression darkened as he noticed the exposed tattoo. A cold smile curled on his lips.

Too slow to realize it, huh?he sneered.

The womans blood ran cold as she realized who she was facing. These were no ordinary men they were agents sent to infiltrate and destroy.

"Let her go! You bastards!"

The other residents, who had just heard the noise, now rushed to her aid.

They tried to break through and intervene, but the spies responded violently, knocking one man to the ground with a brutal punch to his jaw.

Ah!!The man cried in pain as he crumpled to the ground, clutching his face. And as he fell down, he saw the tattoo on the man's arm.

Y-youyou're a spyhe reiterated, his voice trembling with fear as he spoke.

The residents were outraged, their eyes going bloodshot as they glared at their attackers.

These spies had dared to cross the border to threaten and attack them in their own country. It was preposterous.

Well report you to the Mayor!

One of the residents threatened, causing the eyes of the leader to twitch.

He suddenly felt the hair on the back of his neck stand, an eerie shiver running down his spine, he felt like he was being watched. Shuddering slightly to himself, he shook his head as he dismissed the weird thought.

Hah! Jokes on you, he cannot appear from thin air to rescue you! So you're at our mercy

(Three Years Later) "Get these files and give them to the right department," Richard ordered, passing a file to a man standing before him. "Yes sir," The man nodded and took the files from Richard. "Do you need anything?" Richard finally raised his head from what he was doing to look at the man who was still standing. "Sir, I need you to approve my leave so I can take care of my wife who's about to give birth," The man said slowly, handing over a matter to Richard. "Alright, it's approved," Richard nodded and took the letter from the man. "Thank you, sir," The man beamed happily and quickly walked out of the office. Richard sighed and sat back on the chair after the man was out. It had been three years since everything. Andrew, Cassandra, and Harold were tried and thrown into prison. Justus, Aiden, Clinton, and Robin were also thrown into prison for fraud. The citizens of Dalton City demanded that Richard come back as the Mayor of the city. After much pleas and persuasion, h

Walking out of the office, the three walked out of the mayoral office only to be greeted by about five men who were in uniforms. Seeing the men, Andrew and Harold froze and it was as though their eyes would pop out of their sockets as they stared at the men. Slowly, they began to move back as though they had seen a ghost. "Father, Andrew, what the heck is wrong with both of you?" Cassandra frowned and stopped the two who were retreating slowly. "You should also go back; they are most probably here to arrest us," Harlod whispered to Cassandra, whose eyes flashed with panic. This must be Richard's fault. They were sure he was the one who invited them over. Apart from him, no one dared to make such a big move. Also, they were not expecting it. "Please stop moving back; we are going to assume you want to run away, and we would be forced to use force on you?" One of the men stepped forward, stating in a loud, cold voice, making the three stop in their tracks. The people before them

"What the heck is that bastard doing?" Andrew slapped the table angrily standing up from where he was.Somehow, some reporters had managed to get to the scene where Richard was arresting Aiden. And in the end, the citizens were praising Richard for arresting the miscreants. Then a torrent of curses was sent towards Andrew and it was said he knew nothing but to say things that were not true. This annoyed Andrew, but there was nothing he could do about it."You saw why I said we can't let him live," Cassandra, who had been silent all along, broke the silence, and the two couldn't help but nod.She was right, there was no way they would allow Richard to live. He was just too damn dangerous."So do you still think we should take the killing seriously, or we should continue to look at him," Cassandra stared at the two men and inquired."We should get rid of him for good this time, else, he won't spare us," Harold shook his head.He knew if Richard was to know they wanted to kill him, he w

"If that's the case, why don't you just let us search the house?" One of the policemen frowned and spoke."If you were to search the house, you would also be wasting your time as you wouldn't be able to find them either," Alice shook her head, wondering if this set of people were dumb."Seems like you don't believe it?" Richard smirked, staring at the police officers."Since that's the case, then go and search the house," Richard continued, waving his hands allowing them to go search the house."You can go," Vivienne nodded and allowed the men to go into the house to search.Though she trusted Richard, her men seemed to have doubts. So she had no other choice but to let them clear their doubts by going into the house."But how did you know all of these?" Vivienne asked, staring at Richard."That's because Clinton is not an ordinary Criminal," Richard answered with a smile. He knew how Clinton's mind worked. So he was very sure he was still in the house."Look at his style. He knows

"Fuck!" Aiden, who was typing with all of his might, suddenly cursed. "Who the heck is playing with me?" He yelled, banging the table. He had been trying to hack into the place, but for some reason, he was not able to do it. At some point, the other person seemed to have given up and left. But he didn't and continued to fight with the other party. After a while, he realized the other party didn't even take him seriously at all and this made him annoyed. "What's wrong?" Clinton, who had been packing, rushed into the room and asked what was wrong. "You won't believe this guy is playing with me?" Aiden spoke, fury could be felt in his voice. "What do you mean by that?" Clinton asked slowly, the expression on his face changed. "He's not taking me seriously at all. He's not even trying to defend the place. More like he's just forcing me, wanting me to make mistakes," Hearing this, Clinton's eyes opened wide. While he was at the Mayoral office, they didn't have anyone with that sk

Harold, who had been waiting for Andrew to return, stared at him, waiting for the news."Well, it's just that our team was able to block Aiden from entering and the money is still intact," Andrew laughed, sitting on the sofa."That's good news," Harold nodded, agreeing almost Instantly. Now that they have been able to block Aiden. All that remained was to attack Richard right?"Richard has not yet taken the bait, has he?" Harold asked a frown emerging on his face."You don't need to worry about that, I'm sure he's still pretending. We still have a lot of time. All we have to do is pretend the money is still there." "And if he doesn't take the money, we can still pin the blame on him, it would still be the same outcome anyways,""Good, good," Harold agreed, nodding happily. He was very satisfied with the way Andrew acted. He was sure that th
