“Mia, is everything ready?” Mia heard a thick voice, coming straight from outside her door. She sat before the mirror with a weary look on her face, as if she was going to fall apart any second from that moment.

However, she mustered up the courage to reply.

“Yes, mother. Everything is ready.” She said, her tone croaked and heavy. In the next second, she heard receding footsteps and she knew she was alone in the house for now. As she stood up to her feet, she slightly kicked the mirror and it fell straight toward her.

Mia took a step back, not fazed by the sharp sound of the shattering mirror and the glass shards that pierced her skin. She just didn't want to see herself in the mirror anymore.

She was a shadow of herself after the incident on the rooftop. She lied against Chris and even with all that she did, she didn't get what she wanted. Her family which she tried to save were now packing out of their home. They lost their business since Reid and his friends didn't keep their e

  • I Am Not Robin

Albert pursed his lips, a faint hint of fear in his eyes as he followed Gerald into the mansion. He wondered if his father would dim whatever he had to say worthy and if not, he knew that his father would carry out his threats. They finally reached the patriarch’s private study and as soon as he settled behind the partition in the study, Albert stood back, standing before the partition. “Why are you here?” Gerald asked. Albert pursed his lips again. He was suddenly nervous and all the anger he had pent up inside him was nowhere to be found. Before the patriarch, he was an insect. “If you have nothing to say, get out.” Gerald was impatient, his eyes curling in disdain for the youngest boy whom he once favored. “Father, please—”“I am not your father!” Gerald banged his fist on the table so suddenly and angrily. His cold gaze pierced through the partition, making Albert shiver in fear. “I apologize!” Albert gritted his teeth and in the next second, he went down on his knees.Bang!

  • The Bag

Thoughts of Baron being dead or not continued to gnaw in Tricia’s mind. Her eyes watered with tears as she got into her car, gripping the wheel tightly. She constantly tried to convince herself that all was going to be alright. But deep in her heart, she blamed herself for going to Albert! What if he actually killed Baron?!“No, he can’t! Never!” She stepped on the accelerator as quickly as she could. She had to deliver what Baron asked her to deliver and soon, her husband would be free. Finally, she got to a hotel, the one Baron had said to her in his instructions, and as she sat in the empty waiting lounge, her feet tapped on the floor rapidly. Her eyes watched all over, like a hawk, hoping Albert or his men weren't anywhere close. But then she heard footsteps behind and her head snapped to look in the direction. “Mrs. Rice?” The bulky man behind her said her name and immediately she jumped on her feet. However, the man had a face mask on and she couldn't see his face fully. “Ar

  • Albert’s Grievance

Albert was on the verge of punching Walker in the face with veins bulging in his neck, straining down to his tightened fists. Everything in his life had started to go downhill ever since that party the Rice family held. Chris Westminster showed up, Albert was rushed out to the hospital and then his CEO position was lost, not to even Baron but a forgotten stone in the family. Walker! Now, right in the CEO’s office which had been his more than twice, Walker asked him to step out. A brother they all looked down upon was now the cornerstone. It was an insult!“Aren't you going to leave?” Walker asked harshly. “If you don't leave soon, Albert, I am calling the security on you. It wouldn't be nice for the workers to see you being carried out, would it?”Alber let out a sigh, bearing the agony and fury he held inside. “No, it wouldn't be nice…” He shook his head. “This is not your fault, Albert. Father caused this!” He hissed before storming out of the office. If his father, the patriarch

  • Tricia’s Rashness

A devilish smile crossed Chris’ face as Baron instructed his wife on everything to do. However, the minute she would end the call, she would go straight to that damned brother, Albert. Something Chris had predicted. “She is going to do all you want,” Baron said seriously, not daring to play games with Chris again. “As long as she follows our instructions.” Chris smiled, but he knew his rash wife would never do so. The instruction was to lead them to the bugging device, but Chris had made Baron purposely mention Albert. Before he would intrude into the patriarch’s privacy, he wanted to cause a bit of trouble and then he would use it for his own good. “But…” Baron was nervous, staring at the gun in Chris’ hand. Even though the gun was not pointed at his head anymore, just a slight trigger in whatever direction could cause harm to his already frail body. “Why did you have me mention Albert? What else do you want aside from the bugging device?” He asked, fearing that his wife would r

  • Albert, My Brother

Late into the night, the doctor had finished his overall check-up on Baron’s health and he only needed to rest for a little while.Chris had immediately ordered a few maids to clean him up and he was sent to the building behind the main Westminster mansion. Now, they were all seated, watching Baron as he leaned on the bedstand. “You should start spilling the information, shouldn't you?” Chris demanded. He folded his arms, waiting, and he was ready to dish his next set of orders as long as Baron would cooperate. And if he wouldn't, he would get rid of him silently. “Get…get my wife…” Baron whispered, his chest heaving up and down just from those few words he said. “I know…you can’t let me out of here but my wife can certainly lead you on how to access the bug.”There was a ray of hope in his heart, thinking as long as Chris believed him enough to get him out of that house, Chris would believe him again and contact his wife. A frown marred Chris’ face due to that. Bringing in more p

  • Escaping By A Nick Of Time

The sound of the police sirens whirled through the dark night. Mars had made sure to go far away, from the house, so Chris’ men wouldn't discover him there. Now, he sat in one of the police cars, riding on the cocktail that he was about to apprehend Chris. He couldn't fathom just how much the patriarch would reward him, after all, Baron, his son couldn't even do anything damaging to Chris. The thought that the patriarch might even treat him like a worthy son, was thrilling. “Is this the location?” The police asked as they approached the house. “Yes.” Mars nodded. “Can you turn off the sirens? We shouldn't alert the goons inside.”The policemen silently listened to him but as they approached the house, Mars frowned, trouble whirling in his mind. Chris’ car which was parked at the entrance of the building was nowhere to be found. When he watched Chris interrogate Baron earlier, he was sure Chris wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. Even though he had witnessed a large part of their con
