The little girl, who had just hugged her father so eagerly, was the daughter of General Marcus Steel and Catherine Steel. Her name was Isabella Steel.

Marcus bent down with a warm, affectionate smile on his face. He kissed her cheek and raised her up, his voice full of tenderness. "How are you, my girl?" he asked, his eyes filled with love.

Isabella giggled, her face beaming. "I'm fine, daddy!" she replied, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Catherine, standing nearby, smiled at the exchange and stood up to greet her husband. She walked toward him gracefully, her eyes full of affection as they kissed.

"How was everything? How's work?" she asked, her voice soft with concern.

Marcus looked at his wife and then back at his daughter. He placed the little girl down gently before responding to Catherine, his demeanor relaxing now that he was home.

"Everything is fine," he said, his voice warm and filled with contentment. "Busy as always, but it's good to be home.”
