“Twenty-one,” Elijah answered casually.

“Twenty-one?” Sierra’s eyes widened in surprise. “Are you joking?”

Elijah shook his head. “Nope, I’m not. I am.”

Sierra was stunned. She hadn’t thought Elijah was that young—she was even older than him. “An expensive car at 21, your own house at 21... You’re amazing! I honestly thought you were around 23 or 24.”

“Well, you’re wrong,” Elijah said with a grin. “But I guess one of the ages you just mentioned is your age?”

Sierra nodded, laughing softly. “How did you guess? Yes, I’m 23, actually. Older than you are.”

“Older girls,” Elijah said with a teasing smirk.

“What did older girls do?” Sierra asked playfully, raising an eyebrow.

“Nothing, nothing,” Elijah replied, holding back a laugh, his tone lighthearted.

Soon, they arrived at a cozy restaurant tucked away in a lively part of New Ember City. The exterior had a modern yet inviting charm, with warm lights glowing through large glass windows. The sign above the entrance read The Urban Diner.

There was no reply. Just silence again. But then—rattle—a sudden, faint clatter came from behind one of the nearby shelves. Elijah froze. His eyes darted toward the sound, and he took a hesitant step back.“…Who's there?” he asked again, his voice lower now, tinged with unease.Still nothing. The flickering light above him gave one final blink, then steadied—but the tension in the air remained. Then came a low, soft whoosh, like pages flipping rapidly… yet no breeze moved through the room.As Elijah peered behind the shelf, he saw… nothing.Just rows of dusty books, undisturbed and still. He furrowed his brows, confused. “What the hell…” he muttered, turning around, already brushing off the unease. Maybe he was just tired. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him.But the moment he took a step to leave, flipflipflipflip—that same frantic sound of pages being turned echoed again.Elijah froze in place. He turned slowly, eyes wide, scanning the room. That’s when he saw it.A small book…

Soon, Elijah’s car pulled up quietly at the grand Valencia residence. He parked momentarily as Celestine unbuckled her seatbelt. “Goodnight, Ms. Valencia,” he said calmly, glancing at her.Celestine turned to him, offering a warm smile. “Take care,” she said, opening the door and stepping out. She gave him a small wave before walking toward the house.Elijah waited until she was safely at the entrance, then reversed slowly and drove off into the night.Unbeknownst to Celestine, Marcellus Valencia stood silently on the balcony above, arms folded as he watched the exchange below. His expression unreadable, eyes narrowing slightly as he observed Elijah’s car disappear down the road.—Meanwhile, at Elijah’s estate, Sierra was curled up in bed, her textbooks and notepad spread beside her. She was scrolling through her phone, studying quietly when her phone began to ring—Betty. She answered immediately. “Hey, Betty.”“Sis, are you studying?” Betty’s voice came through the line.“Yeah,” Sie

His eyes widened in realization. It’s him. I’m sure it’s him. How? What is he doing here with Celestine?Zane’s chest rose and fell a bit faster.Zane stood rooted to the spot, watching the Prado as it disappeared into the evening traffic. His jaw tightened, and his brows pulled into a deep, brooding frown.“Wait…” he muttered to himself, his voice low and full of suspicion. “Is he… Celestine’s driver?”The thought swirled in his head like a storm. No, no, that doesn’t make sense. That means… that car belongs to her? He blinked, confusion morphing into something darker. If he’s just her driver, why didn’t he get down to meet her? Why was she the one to walk to him instead?Zane clenched his fists slowly, his lips twitching with restrained frustration. “Something’s off,” he murmured. “I don’t understand how, but I’ll find out.”He turned away from the street, his mind racing with possibilities, his pride stung. If that’s really him… if that’s the same guy that crossed me, working some

"Hey, Ms. Valencia, I didn't expect your call—what's good?" Elijah’s voice came through the line, calm and mildly surprised."I'm good, Elijah. What about you?" Celestine responded, her voice smooth but with a tinge of relief."I'm okay, thank you," Elijah said sincerely. There was a brief pause before Celestine asked, "Where are you currently?""I'm on the street," Elijah replied. "I came to buy a few groceries for home. I'm done already though, about to head back. Why do you ask? Is everything okay?""You're with a car, right?" she asked lightly, almost too casually."Yes, I am. What's wrong?" Elijah's tone shifted slightly, growing more alert."Nothing much," Celestine said, glancing briefly toward Zane who stood awkwardly at a distance. "I just wanted you to pick me up. I'm not with my driver—I came alone.""Oh. No problem about that." Elijah’s voice warmed instantly. "Where are you?"She told him the exact name and location of the cinema, her tone measured."I know that place," E

“Zane, what’s wrong?”He turned to her casually and replied, “What?”Celestine gestured subtly toward his hand on her lap and said, “What are you doing? You put your hand on me earlier, I took it off, and now you’ve placed it back again.”Zane gave a slight shrug, lowering his voice. “Come on, is this supposed to be an issue?”He reached out, trying to cup her chin gently, but Celestine drew back sharply.“Stop,” she said firmly, her tone clipped. “I don’t like it.”Zane frowned slightly, leaning closer. “What’s wrong? Why are you acting weird? We’re watching a movie — must we all just sit in silence and make it boring? Look around, people are doing all kinds of things, enjoying each other.”Celestine stared at him, unmoved, her lips pressed in a tight line. She didn’t say another word, simply turned her attention back to the screen, clearly unwilling to engage further.Zane, mistaking her silence for resignation, let out a faint smirk. He leaned back into his seat, waited a moment, t

Meanwhile, Felix drove into the compound, parked Elijah’s BMW carefully, and made his way inside the house. As he entered the softly lit living room, he found Sierra seated comfortably on the sofa, legs crossed, her attention focused on her phone. She looked so at ease, dressed in one of her cozy oversized shirts, her hair up in a messy bun. Felix cleared his throat gently. “Good evening,” he greeted. Sierra glanced up and smiled slightly. ‘Welcome.” “Thank you, where’s big brother?” “He stepped out to get something,” Sierra replied, placing her phone down for a moment. “Why? Is something wrong?” Felix shook his head quickly, taking a few more steps into the room. “No, nothing actually. I just wanted to let him know that I’ve finished the job he gave me. By tomorrow, everything should be cleared.” Sierra’s brow lifted slightly. “What job did he give you?” Felix opened his mouth, hesitated a little, then scratched the back of his head. “Uhm, just something he asked me to h
