Storm Family Mansion.
Today, Lady Storm, head of the Storm Family, was celebrating her 70th birthday. All her children, grandchildren as well as invited guests from top families were present.
The hall was lively as guest after guests rushed to present their gifts with proud and happy smiles on their faces.
"Grandma, this is a jade necklace that casts a calm energy around the body to keep you warm at all times."
"Here is a $700,000 bag. It might look small, but it is durable and has good space."
"Grandma, here is the magic robe you always wanted. It is rare and was forged by a trillionaire. I was able to obtain it for five million from an auction."
The face of Lady Storm glowed with pride and happiness as she received each gifts.
The hall was busy, with many millionaires present. The Storm family doesn't lack millionaires among their myriad connections. Each man dressed richly in nice branded clothes and suits.
However, one young man stood out as he was dressed in casual black pants and was holding a glass of wine, rushing towards Lady Storm with haste.
"Come on, move faster! Lady Storm requested for wine, and you haven't delivered it!"
The young man holding the glass of wine was tossed around by some younger men far younger than him. They spat on his back and insulted him, but he didn't retaliate. Getting close to Lady Storm, suddenly, a leg appeared in front of him, and he lost balance. His body came stumbling to the ground, and the glass shattered, pouring all its content away.
"Ouch!" He winced in pain and looked up, only to be greeted by disgusted looks from everyone.
"You bastard! How dare you spill that wine! It is the 100-year-old Wise Press wine, and just a glass of it is worth one hundred thousand, yet you spilled it."
"Scumbag!"
"Trash!"
"William, if I were you, I would kill myself!"
Following the insults were spits and kicks. William, the young man being humiliated, didn't have the chance to fight back. He could, but that would be the end of his relationship with his beloved and possibly his death.
He is well aware of the reason they all treated him this way; it is due to the fact that he poor and weak and still managed to win the hand of the most beautiful lady in Astoria.
"I'm sorry," he apologized.
"Sorry for yourself! Today is an interesting day for the Storm family, and you ruined it," they barked at him.
Lady Storm was watching everything with a cold look in her eyes. Why was this young man still here? Why hasn't her stupid granddaughter divorced him yet?
William is just a poor lad with no magical power or hope of getting one, She didn't understand how her granddaughter fell in love with such a person. It was a disgrace to their family's reputation!
"William! Pick those glasses with your hands and get your ass out of here!"
A young man in a clean white suit arrived and kicked William on the butt, sending him swimming over the red wine that spoiled his clothes.
"It is young master Donald from the Incredible Grayson family."
"I heard that he has just signed a deal with Starkcom worth 20 million dollars!"
"Such a bright young man and handsome too, only this kind of man deserves the hand of the Storm family number one beauty."
Donald grinned as he heard the crowd praise him, excited and filled with pride, he kicked William again, this time adding more power behind his kick. William rolled on the ground, and his face was badly injured by the broken glass. His face bled profusely.
William gritted his teeth but couldn't retaliate. He had to manage himself in these kinds of conditions; it is not like this is the first time everyone has turned their back on him. He started picking the broken glass one by one, even though it hurt.
"Idiot!" Donald kicked him again!
"If you are this slow, when are you going to finish picking everything?"
"You are so useless!! Why would the great Storm family accept trash like you?"
He kept kicking William, but William didn't stutter or try to fight back and continued picking the glasses with a cold look in his eyes that no one could see.
"You bastard! How dare you ignore me!"
Donald grabbed William by the shoulder and lifted him half a feet above the ground with just one hand, this is to prove how strong he was.
"I wasn't ignoring you. I just found your stupid words disgusting to listen to while doing what you asked. You shouldn't blame me." William finally spoke, his voice cold as ice.
"How dare you?" Donald landed a slap across his face.
"Put me down!" William requested. He has had enough of this suffering, and today, he would try to put an end to it.
"Make me! Do you think you are strong? You don't even have magical powers. Why should I listen to you?" Donald slapped again.
"Wow! Look at how calm and collected young master Donald is even after that scumbag insulted him. Such a gentleman!"
"Young master Donald! Deal with that scumbag; he doesn't deserve to be part of the Storm family."The crowd cheered him on.
"Stop!!"
A beautiful lady with long blonde hair came running into the room with tears in her eyes as she saw her beloved getting maltreated.
Lady Storm looked at the beautiful young lady and scoffed, "This granddaughter of mine! If she doesn't divorce him here and now, I'll make sure her life becomes miserable!"
Donald immediately let go of William and turned to look at Clarissa with a smile.
"Lady Clarissa, this man was trying to ruin your grandma's birthday, so I taught him a lesson."
Clarissa walked past him, ignoring his words. She knelt in front of a bleeding William with tear-filled eyes.
"William, I'm sorry; I wasn't here early to protect you." She cried.
"Lady Clarissa? Why are you so interested in him?" Donald asked with a slight frown.
"Divorce this scumbag and marry me, and I'll make you live like the queen that you are, as well as help your family get a connection with Starkcom." He continued

The world had changed, but it was slowly mending. The scars left by the apocalypse were deep, and the memories of those harrowing days would never truly fade, but humanity was resilient. Two weeks had passed since the hunters had emerged victorious from the Death Tower, and in that short time, the earth had already begun to heal. The sky was a clear blue, the clouds soft and white, drifting peacefully above a world that had been plunged into darkness for so long. Birds, absent during the apocalypse, had returned, their songs filling the air with a sense of normalcy that had been absent for far too long. The government, once crippled by the chaos, had reestablished itself. Leaders who had survived the ordeal stepped forward, determined to rebuild the world that had been nearly destroyed. They worked tirelessly, organizing effo

William stared at the figure before him, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of the twisted reflection standing just a few paces away. The smirk on the doppelganger's face was chilling, filled with an arrogance and darkness that William recognized but had never embraced himself. This was not just a reflection; it was something far more sinister. "Who are you?" William demanded, his voice steady, though the unease gnawed at him. "Why do you look like me?" The doppelganger tilted its head slightly, the smirk widening. "I am the Dark One," it said, its voice a distorted echo of William's own. "The force behind the apocalypse, the one who brought chaos and ruin to your world." William’s eyes widened in shock, and then narrowed in anger. "You... You’re the one who unleashed the zombies, who turned the world into a living nightmare?" His grip tightened on his sword, the blade beginning to glow faintly with the power of his blood magic. "Why? Why would you do something so monstrous?
