Chapter 1
Betrayal
Alvin Kent yawned, feeling exhausted. He had been working various jobs since morning, not counting the household chores that always kept him busy at home. He just graduated from college using partial scholarships, and had not been able to find a corporate job, making him forced to continue his odd jobs. “A glass of mocktail please.” A girl shouted from a corner where she and her noisy friends were sitting. “Coming right up.” Alvin quickly served them and turned to leave. A familiar song began to play, making him frown. “Isn't this the song Sonya escorted me to their company to record last week? How come it's already on air?” Alvin whispered, feeling confused. “Why did she release it without telling me? Was it supposed to be a surprise?” He muttered, knowing there was no way his wife of two years would intentionally try to make him happy, even if the sun rose from the north. “Fred Coleman's song is playing. Wow! He released this song just yesterday and the song is already climbing the charts so fast. I never knew he was this talented in composing songs and singing. I didn't like him much when he just started, but with this album, he's now my favorite.” Alvin quickly fished out his phone to search for trending topics. “Fred Coleman? Who the fuck is he? Why are they saying he is the owner of my songs?” He immediately saw Fred Coleman's interview with the media and he was talking about some nonsense on how he got the inspiration. Even more shocking was that his own wife, Sonya Carter was clinging to Fred's arms, smiling as she praised her so-called boyfriend for being hard working. “What's going on here? Why is someone taking credits for my songs? Also, they modified my voice slightly with AI, making it a little bit gruff like his own. I have been preparing so long for my debut, pouring all my savings and resources into the production. How can someone else take credits for my blood, sweat, and tears? This doesn't make sense, I need to find her.” “Hey man! Are you alright? You have not attended to any customers for nearly five minutes. If the boss notices, your salary will be deducted.” A colleague said, tapping his shoulders. He shook his head, and sighed heavily with an expression of despair on his face. “I will be back, there's an emergency that I need to take care of. Please help me explain to the manager.” He whispered, shoving the apron he just stripped off into the hands of the other bartender. He rushed outside and got on his electric scooter, making his way home as fast as he could. The moment he entered the duplex where he lived with his wife's family, his face contorted into a huge frown. There was a strange car parked in their garage, he ignored it and made his way into the house. Sounds of joyful laughter filled the house, making him wonder what incident they were celebrating. The first thing he saw when he walked into the reception room was the upsetting view of his wife sitting on another man's thighs. The man was dressed in stylish designer clothes, looking like a pop star, alongside a pair of expensive boots. His hands never left Sonya’s body, touching her without reserve, even caressing her waist and boob before her parents. Whereas Alvin, her so-called husband, has never received a kiss from her. “Sonya!” Alvin shouted through gritted teeth, making everyone's attention turn to the doorway where he was. “You little leech! How dare you call my name with that dirty mouth of yours?” Sonya growled and stood up. The man reluctantly released her and relaxed back into the sofa to watch a good show. “Is this the good for nothing husband your grandpa made you marry before he suffered from stroke?” Fred asked, staring derisively at him, in a way that made him feel small and humiliated. Alvin’s eyes went to Fred’s hands which were coiled possessively around Sonya's waist. He had returned it to her waist at some point, glaring provocatively at Alvin as if daring him to say anything. Sonya's parents and brother didn't seem to mind it at all, grinning from ear to ear as a strange man defiled their daughter right in their presence. Fighting for a love that never existed was something Alvin was not interested in. So their shameless display didn't bother him much, his interest was his songs, the things that mattered. “Sonya, I heard the songs I recorded last week on air, and they are claiming it belongs to one Fred Coleman. What the fuck is going on?” He growled, pretending not to know Fred's identity. “How dare you speak to my daughter that way? You must be tired of living.” Sonya smiled and caressed Fred’s arm, the corner of her lips curled up in a mocking smirk as she gave Alvin the side eye. “What songs are you talking about? The songs only belong to my sweetheart here. They're my gift to him.” Alvin clenched his fists in fury, his eyes spitting flames. “Your sweetheart? Then, what am I?” His voice was cold, his eyes filled with resentment as he met Sonya’s gaze. His question left them stunned for a while before the five of them simultaneously burst into laughter. “Are you crazy? You actually thought trash like you is qualified to stand beside my daughter? Look here, thanks to that old man, my daughter has suffered grievances for three years. Now that he's in a coma, you still want to be leeching off my daughter? Dream on! The only son in-law I recognize is Fred Coleman, heir to CJ entertainment. A pauper like you who shamelessly lives off his wife's family will never be able to compare—you're not even worthy to carry his shoes.” Grace his mother in-law spat, gearing for a fight. Sonya chuckled and shook her head, her gaze filled with condescension. “You really thought I will continue to endure the humiliation of seeing your face everyday? Dream on! Everyday I wished to tear you apart, crush your bones, drink your blood, and make you regret ever being born. But that old bastard always protected you. Now that the old thing is in a coma and will die any moment, do you still think you deserve to stay alive?” Alvin chuckled coldly. “Even if you want to give a gift to your lover whom you commit adultery with, why did you give him my items? I invested all my savings to produce that song, and that album is a collection of my best songs so far. How dare he claim credit for them? You both better go rectify it or I'll sue you for plagiarism.” He had not finished his words when Sonya released a flurry of slaps against his cheeks. She tried to kick his balls and he quickly avoided it, pushing her away. “You animal! You stayed in our house eating free food for two years, and now you want to bite the hand that fed you? You must have a death wish.” Cain, Sonya's little brother shouted, getting to his feet.

The septillionaire's superstar system salvation even for a traitor
Alvin’s mind worked fast, doing a quick evaluation, thoughts snapping together like blades. The grandmaster was wearing a concealment artefact to hide his true cultivation, probably the black cloak draped around his shoulders, drinking in light and truth. There was also no telling how many sick tricks and trump cards he had in his hands. It was better to end things early than to drag it out into an exhausting tug of war, a dance with death that bled minutes he didn’t have. Wasting time would only complicate matters. Most importantly, Aurelio was still home, waiting for him to return, his small face pressed to the window, trusting. The grandmaster’s gaze sharpened beneath the cloak, two coals of malice flaring. “Oh? You’re indeed formidable. Even better. A puppet made from you must be insanely powerful.” Alvin chuckled and disappeared from the spot, escaping from the devious sneak attack the grandmaster had sent, a thread of corrosive qi slicing where his throat had been a heartb

Alvin stopped beside the girl. She was breathing heavily, a trace of blood by the side of her lips. Eyes defiant but broken — a contradiction that tore at something deep in his chest. He stopped beside her and pulled her outside, away from the others, away from their hate. When they got to a secluded area, he exhaled and looked at her. “Wait here. I will hurry inside and check a few things. I will be back to send you to safety in a short while.” The girl chuckled. A sarcastic, grating sound that went straight to the brain, like nails on bone. Alvin paused, briefly turning to check on her. “You want to bring me to safety? Ridiculous. You should worry about staying alive first.” “I will definitely return,” Alvin snapped back, his voice hard as tempered steel, “and rescue you. Even from yourself.” Something in the girl’s eyes shifted, a crack in the void, and she fisted a handful of her ragged clothes, face drawn into a wince, her groan hanging somewhere around her neck and nev

The septillionaire's superstar system ESCAPE
Alvin could feel the children’s resentful gazes, and the fear festering around them…thick, acrid, contagious. “Stay still. I won’t let anyone harm you.” His voice was low, iron-clad, a promise forged in blood. With a slight move of his hands, a circle appeared around the kids, barriers of defensive light rising above them like tides called by the moon. He flicked his fingers again, and reinforced shields followed, circling the kids, ready to reflect the attacks, ready to bleed for them if they had to. Inside the barrier, a boy hissed, full of anger, his voice cracking. “Why’s she inside here too? She will just endanger the others.” The girl gave him the side eye but kept silent, her face a blank wall. The rich girl dragged in a shaky breath, face contorting, feeling incredibly wronged. Someone compromised their safety, yet wasn’t kicked out. It sat in her throat like glass. A sixteen-year-old boy pointed at the traitor, his finger shaking. “I’ve got my eyes on you. If you t

The septillionaire's superstar system SHE'S DAMAGED
Alvin’s heart stopped, a dead, cold stall in his chest, and he looked back at the children shivering in fear. A greater percentage of them were putting on brave faces, trying not to show the visceral fear tearing through them, shredding them from the inside out. “Don’t be afraid. I will protect you all. You just need to keep up with my pace.” His voice was low, steady. An anchor in a sea of panic. Unlike the first batch, this group of captured kids were mostly teens with the youngest around ten years old. So there were no crying babies to be comforted. Everyone had a rough idea of what was expected of them to ensure they left safely. Fear had taught them faster than any teacher ever could. Alvin stopped mid-way. “Wait here.” He zoomed out, toward the approaching soldiers, a black streak against the dark. Two minutes later, he returned, blood dripping from the dagger in his left hand, each drop hitting the ground like a clock counting down. “Hurry, more are coming.” The kid

I'm here after reading your first work. And I must say you didn't disappoint. Although it's not as intense as the first one. But it's developing nicely all the same. Keep it up and update faster.
