Kennedy Goodwin walked over to his daughter. “Surely, this must be from the Ashford subordinate. Despite not showing up today, he still remembered to send you a gift through Jamie.”

He was very satisfied to see that his persistence to acquaint himself with the Ashford subordinate didn't turn out to be in vain.

This gift was definitely something only an affiliate of the Ashford family could afford to give out.

Sonia’s group of friends rushed to her side, begging to tag along with her whenever she decided to use the gift card.

After a while, they urged her to open the second box. This was a bit bigger than the first one.

Stacy pointed at it. “This one is definitely from Jamie. I wonder what he got you though?”

Under everyone's gaze, Sonia opened the second box, and she gasped at what she saw.

One of Sonia's girlfriends chuckled with amusement. “Sonia, this is an Amore Eterno necklace! It features 25 diamond solitaires, 4 heart-shaped diamonds, and more than 20 round jewels. It's worth $10 million!”

Mr. Goodwin, just as everyone, was taken aback by this. Jamie has spent $10 million on his daughter. Though it couldn't compare to the golden card from the Ashford subordinate, it was still among the top expensive gifts that his daughter received tonight.

Among the crowd, Amanda felt like her heart was about to burst out of her chest. “J….Jamie bought Sonia such an expensive gift.”

If she had known that Jamie would actually turn out to meet such a great fortune, perhaps, she wouldn't have dumped him for Nathan Reynold. Perhaps, the $10 million Amore Eterno necklace would have been hers.

She gazed at Nathan, who had an angry expression on his face, doubting that he could even afford such a gift for her. After all, he only received $100,000 as his monthly allowance.

Doing the calculations, it would take Nathan 100 months to be able to afford that necklace.

As for Nathan and Jonathan, they were pissed, believing that all these happened because Jamie met that Ashford subordinate. They needed to ruin this guy before he became a threat to them.

Meanwhile, at St. Mary's Hospital, Bernard Reynold was panicking. He has been here for almost ten hours now, and he still hasn't been attended to.

Due to his medical condition, he needed to come for a checkup twice per week. The visitation requirement emphasized the importance of keeping his health monitored and in check. His situation was so volatile that missing one medical visit would likely increase the chances of his health declining by 60%.

“What is going on here?! Why isn't Dr. Trein here for God's sake?! Why am I still waiting even after ten hours?!”

Suddenly, the door opened up to a disheveled man in a suit. This was his personal assistant, Gordon Bricks.

Ben sneered at him. “Gordon, why the hell were you gone for so long?!”

He angrily looked behind him, craning his neck. “What is this?! Where the fuck is Dr. Trein?!”

The personal assistant shook his head as he walked into the private room. “Sir Reynold, I have terrible news. Dr. Jason Trein was fired yesterday. He's no longer a member of this hospital.”

Ben jerked out of his seat in shock. “What?! Is this a joke?! Why was he fired?! And why wasn't I alerted as a paying patient of this fucking hospital?!”

Gordon Bricks hurried over with worry on his distraught face. “Boss, please, you need to calm down for now. You're yet to receive your treatment, and stress won't help at all.”

With a begrudging face, Ben listened to his personal assistant, his voice dropping to a much-leveled tone. “Judging by your current state, you must have run around to inquire into this matter, right? Tell me, what's going on?”

Assistant Gordon Bricks stood before Ben with a subservient posture. “It was said that the hospital had been acquired by an unknown young man. Though his status is unknown, he's highly suspected to be from an incredibly powerful background. Apparently, Dr. Jason Trein had messed with that young man without verifying his identity. By the time the guy's identity was revealed, it was too late. He lost his job at this hospital.”

Ben smacked a fist on the armrest of the couch, the anger evident on his face. “That stupid doctor! He can only blame himself for being too reckless with his arrogance. But why didn't this hospital notify me?”

Gordon glanced around. “Well, since management has changed, a lot of rules and regulations are undergoing some….”

“Bullshit!” Ben cut his personal assistant off with anger. “I'm a businessman myself, and I'm very much aware of how a management shift is processed. Alerting me that my doctor has been fired shouldn't have been a problem!”

Gordon sighed, giving up. “Boss, it seems I can't lie properly. To tell you the truth, you're being sidelined on purpose. It seems that the president has ordered for your treatment to be held off until further notice.”

Fear coursed through Bernard at these words. “What?! How dare they?! Don't they know that my health is going to be in jeopardy if I don't get checked today?! If anything happens to me, I'll sue their asses!

Despite his angry declarations, Bernard was very scared right now. He had stuck to this hospital, not only due to their advanced equipment but also the discretion they've provided him over the years.

Not many people are aware that the CEO of Reynolds Agency is dealing with a medical condition. If he changes hospitals now, his condition will less likely be guaranteed to remain a secret.

Unfortunately, there was no one in particular he could meet, not until he was introduced to a new doctor.

In conclusion, he could only keep waiting, hoping that the hospital soon send over the newly assigned doctor in charge of his treatment.

Luckily for him, a doctor showed up at the last minute to do his checkup. During this process, Ben asked the man a bunch of questions about the hospital.

Meanwhile, Jamie glanced out the window of his helicopter as he was being flown to meet his grandfather.

He let himself lose, laughing freely at the feeling of superiority he tasted tonight. He recalled the expressions on the faces of Nathan, Jonathan, Seth, Amanda, Danny, Olivia, Meghan, and even Tyson.

Every single one of these people who looked down on him for so long while bullying him and making his life utterly miserable were now given a taste of their own medicine.

Somehow, Jamie had managed to deal with all of them one blue after another. He truly felt proud of himself.

Soon, the pilot relayed an update to him.

“Young Master, we'll soon be landing at the Ashford intermediary airport outside the continent. From there, you'll take the private jet to the Maldives with Mr. Yates.”

Jamie nodded his head. It was impossible to get to the islands of Maldives by helicopter alone. So it made sense that the helicopter would stop on the way. With a private jet, things should be smoother.

They soon landed and Jamie walked out to find his personal assistant patiently waiting for him with the other four Ashford bodyguards under his command.

Minutes later, they boarded one of the five private jets that had been prepared for Jamie. Jamie couldn't believe it when Ton Yates asked him to pick which one he wanted to be flown in.

Is this really how life as an Ashford would be from now on?

Raymond Ashford slowly got up on his feet, his gaze fierce on his grandson to show his displeasure. It was at this point that Jamie felt his heart lurch in his throat on instinct. Right now, his initial assumption that his grandfather would bring a weakling was far out the window. This patriarch's gaze alone gave him the feeling of being looked down upon by a giant. He was wrong. Jamie was just realizing it. This old man, despite his frail physique, was anything but weak. He carried a reason aura, and that was just told by his eyes alone. The silence in the large office was heavy, and the only thing everyone could hear was Patriarch Raymond's footsteps as he slowly walked around his desk to stand before his grandson.Due to his old age, his body has shrunk, and he is shorter than Jamie. Yet, it was easy to note that this old man had to be, at least, as tall as Jamie when he was in his prime.Jamie could only imagine how fearsome his paternal grandfather must have been back then. Jamie shifted his focus to sightseeing as the car zoomed across the roads of the island city. Though the city was smaller, it was incredibly advanced. For one, the technology imbued into the daily lives of the island inhabitants was superior to that of the rest of the world. It seems the civilization on this island is solely funded by the Ashford family's futuristic tech company, AS-Crows Tech Corp.As the convoy proceeded forward, Jamie noticed that the road had become more private. There are barely any other vehicles on this elevated road. Each side of the surrounding path is filled with vibrant forest and even signs of wildlife.Soon, the road opened up to a huge gate, held up by tall fences that stretched beyond the limits of his eyesight.Tom Yates turned to Jamie as he gestured to the gates. “Young Master, welcome to the Michael Estate-123.”Jamie figured out that the ‘-123’ came from the number assigned to his father's island. Since he had up to 150 islands, this must be no.1

As the jet was about to take off, Jamie received a call from the director of St. Mary's Hospital. With a smirk on his face, he picked up the call, knowing fully well what this call was about. “Director Rowling, how may I help you?”The director cleared his throat before he uttered a word. “President Jamie, I hope you're having a pleasant morning. I wanted to update you on the situation with Mr. Barnard Reynolds. I….uh, allowed a doctor to treat him.”Jamie faked a slightly displeased tone. “And why would you do that without my permission?”The director sounded very nervous now. “I'm sorry, Sir Jamie. It's just that time was running out. If we had failed to give him the treatment past the scheduled time, it could really lead to complications in his health. I'm just trying to avoid lawsuits from the Reynold Agency's CEO.”Jamie chuckled lightly, easing the tension through the call. “Relax, director. I'm not mad at all. I expected you to take the proper action. It's fine. From now on, d

Before Jamie left the birthday party, he attempted to return Stacy's money back to her, but then, with a snack on his shoulder and a disapproving frown on her face, she declined.“Listen to me, Jamie, I don't care how rich you are now, don't you dare return my gifts back to me, do you hear me? It's almost like you're looking down on me.”Jamie quickly held her hands. “Stacy, come on. You know that's not true. I would never look down on you. I just don't want you to go through this month without money.”Jamie smiled lovingly at his former stepsister. “I'm aware that the money you sent to me that night was your entire allowance for this month. It's not right that a beauty goddess of HU would spend the next thirty-one days without spending on herself. I'm not lacking money now, so give me the honor of giving a bit back to you, okay?”It was hard for Stacy to reject this offer at this point. Jamie wanted to repay a fraction of her kindness. It would be wrong to not accept it. Thus, she

I don't want to have to deal with another complaint from your future….”Sonia stomped his high heels in anger, cutting her father off. “Dad, Tyson is and will never be my future husband! I absolutely refuse! Besides, if Mr. & Mrs. Crooks say anything, just inform them that Jamie is now being backed by a subordinate of the Ashford family. I'd like to see if they'd dare mess with him.”She ignored her father's babbling as she pulled Jamie right out of the room, followed by the Ashford bodyguards.Jamie couldn't help but smile waly at Sonia. He didn't know she could be this daring.A minute later, the guests were surprised when they saw Sonia guiding Jamie back on deck by his hand. Of course, the daring Sonia ignored everyone's face,
