Scorching. That was the feeling he felt on every inch of his flesh and bones. Yet, contrary to everything, his blood felt ice cold, freezing water in the chilliest winter which rolled through the head to the toe.

The two opposite extremes slowly forging him, breaking and molding him before they cooled and healed everything. A full display of both torture and europhia that the sickest masochist would enjoy.

After some period, he felt itches spreading under his skin and the foulest stench flooding his nostrils. For the uneducated, foolish amateurs, they would reeled in reflex or ignorance, bringing more harm than good in a span of breaths. He held in those urges to scratch or even to move at all, of course. Staying still like he was nothing more than a stone and a stone he was.

At last, the contrast sensation, together with the itches and all had subsided to the point it was barely noticeable. Opening his closed-tight eyes, he rose and walked to a corner. Retched the blackish substance out of his throat until he was satisfied.

Wiping the corner of his mouth with his sleeve, he subconsciously took a sniff and frowned. It didn't take a second thought before he threw his shame out of his head and took off everything except his boxer.

Amidst the chilling breeze, he took a glance at his garments before he clicked his tongue. He couldn't wear those clothes anymore until he washed the black filth off of them. With closer inspection on his own body, many spots were grimy and stank. Yet, he noticed the developing, trained muscle behind those dark smudges. At the same time, his body became much lighter and every breath he took was incomparable to before.

As if on cue, the system displayed his status and reaffirmed his notion that he indeed managed to break through to the next realm, leaping over a small stage in one go. His cultivation speed was astonishing to say the least. He felt like he had swallowed a very precious pill that was worth a century of energy. A treatment that would only be given to inner disciples in a sizable sect.

This shows how frightening the demonic technique called Gehenna Devouring Touch that he owned could be. Still, though a technique was almost cheating, the major reason for his leaps and bounds would be contributed to his newest prey.

Lightly twisting his neck and stretching his fingers, Yunzheng felt the surge of strength and confidence coming from the new him. A second later, he flew in the air with just a single step whilst he surrounded his body and guided the energy into certain patterns in his meridians. Blending his figure onto the background and distorting the lights around him.

Ten minutes later after robbing the clothes of an unfortunate drunkard who swaggered around in the middle of the night, Yunzheng arrived back in front of the police headquarters. Unlike the scene in the afternoon back then, Yumzheng barely spotted people outside and half of the windows of the building were off.

It was a little too early, part of his reasoning said at the back of his mind. Still, he couldn't help but feel more of the urgeness from his blossoming curiosity and anxiety. He sensed that he needed to know sooner than later and Yunzheng knew he was a sucker for the word patient.

Not wishing to wait any longer, he jumped. The air was his platform and in a few seconds, he managed to land stealthily near one of the parked cars. When he was about to continue, foreboding feelings crawled in his guts and he halted his advance. Furrowing deeply before he closed his eyes, seeing the complete darkness until a sliver of his energy surged and scarlet, faint dust drifted in the air. They moved like a colony of bees, surrounding the giant building and there were countless of them.

An alarm system invisible to naked eyes, it wasn't something new for Yunzheng. However, this time he wouldn't deal with magical, mumbo-jumbo formation that borrowed the power of heaven and earth. No, it was something else which he was unfamiliar with.

"Figures." he muttered in grumble, unfurling his eyelids and sighted the CCTV cameras equipped with infrared sensors all around the corner. The security was tight, comparable to a fortress. Still, Yunzheng wouldn't just call it a night that easily.

Retreating back, Yunzheng rode the wind and wandered his eyes around the nearby blocks. Before long, he finds a couple and group of men walking together on the sidewalk. All of them reeked of alcohol, nightlife that Yinzheng was all too familiar with. With a few hypnosis tricks, he should be able to make them into his distractions.

As they have said. If you know nothing about it, experiment with it. And he gets his little lab rats right on time. First, let's go for the group of drunk men.

Appearing right in front of them, they flinched subconsciously as they backed away in a vigilant manner. One of them even glanced in the direction of the police headquarters. Clearly displaying what he had in mind.

"Good evening, gentlemen," Yunzheng spoke, addressing them all with an amicable smile yet piercing gaze at the same time, "A lovely night we had here, isn't that right?"

Silence greeted him and they only traded looks with each other to give wordless consensus. They won't have anything to do with Yunzheng and one of them has already sneakily moved to tap into his exwatch.

"Easy now." Yunzheng said, still maintaining his smile while crimson light flashed in his eyes. "Now, if y'all wouldn't mind, how about having some little chats?"

As his breathing started to calm down, Yunzheng's leaned body rose and his eyes narrowed. Half of his clothes were soaked by the blood of his own and others. Though the flesh mend and strength surged, exhaustion nagged at the back of his mind. Aching in a slow rhythm whilst he gripped his fists. It was a sign of overusing his body without a proper technique. Despite his wounds being reconstructed, he could feel that something was wrong and the Blood Nourishing pills could only do so much. He needs proper treatment or to absorb more prey soon but for now, he will grit his teeth, continue his search, and finish this mission. As he marched on, Yunzheng found the lack of presence nearby. Although he should be on the way to the section where it should be most guarded, he didn't see any cannon fodders, not to mention supers. Finally, his path led him into a dead end. Raising his eyebrows, Yunzheng simply executed his fist technique and tried to break down the walls. To his surprise, alt

  • Chapter 45

Half an hour after he barged through the mansion and wreaked havoc by himself, Yunzheng gained a considerable amount of energy as his cultivation almost reached its peak. Sometimes, he would spot other guardians that would fight in a group or two but Yunzheng immediately ignored them and went for another location. As he progressed forward, the notifications about Gilbert gaining more levels appeared in his view, causing him to smile a little even in the middle of battle. So far, what he had faced was supers that were either around rank C and B, with most seemed to be in the rank D but their ability was more diverse and unsuited for combat, such as wall climbing, tougher bones, spurting inks out of their hands. While getting closer to the main location of the raid, Yunzhenh also saw more B and A rank supers. If before there were only a couple or so of them, now it has turned into a group of ten. He had to even use his formation flags to fight and even ground with them. Fortunately,

When Wang Mei and the rest finally arrived inside the mansion, some of them widened their eyes at the big pool of blood and guts decorating the place. One of them even murmured the word crazy and truthfully, Wang Mei had to agree. They were supposed to capture these criminals, no matter how heinous their actions were. Yet, one person turned this battlefield into a bloodbath. The scene was disheartening to see. Rumors of Yunzheng's ability or martial arts were heavily linked into something like a vampire or Dracula spread around, especially when there was a strange corpse of a super in the courtyard. Wang Mei commented nothing on the matter and kept marching on. There would be a group of people that would deal with this mess or aftermath. "Wait, there's a kid!"That shout caught half of the guardians attention as they approached to see the situation. A little girl, who seemed to not be older than sixteen, was lying on the ground in a ball. Clutching her stomach as she closed her eye

  • Chapter 43

As his sword swiftly cleaved through the mobs, a gigantic statue was thrown to him, prompting him to execute his movement technique and avoiding it entirely. The ground shook and the statue crushed some of the mobs. Emerging from the cloud of dust were a few guardians, suffering no injuries except some tears on their clothes. A loud snort echoed throughout the vast courtyard and a giant shadow loomed over the battlefield. At the same time, hundreds of clones with the same face were shooting back bullets towards the guardians, as if they were facing an army instead of a criminal organization."It's an A rank, duplication skill, Xen Wu. Find his real body and kill him!"A guardian shouted out as he conjured a transparent wall, making the bullets passing through them to become as slow as snails. Meanwhile, another Guardian rushed forward, both of his hands morphed into one and half meters steel claws and sliced through the clones and the bullets. Giant vines and branches sprouting out

"So, we have our own positions and since your ability suits you in the front line, I will suggest for you to think twice before rushing in and being reckless. This is the map of the place that the association had gotten for us. This would be a nice, quick, and smooth operation, so mistakes wouldn't be acceptable."The more he heard the man called Chou Wen rambling on, the more Yunzheng couldn't help but to raise his eyebrows in amusement. It was as obvious as the day that this new colleague of his was trying to show his dominance in seniority. Strangely, he tried to focus his attention to Yunzheng but there were instances when the man would secretly take a peek at Wang Mei who was sitting quietly at the corner, watching the passing scenery in the window. Gilbert, who was sitting one his side, was gazing at Chou Wen too, seemingly as aware as Yunzheng was. Even Wang Mei herself didn't spare a glance at the man, pretending to not care or hear anything. Only Lavda was still looking arou

  • Chapter 41

A scorching pain followed him in every step he took. His ragged breath formed into icy mist and his body shriveled at the faintest breeze. Strength leaving him as time passed and the roaring of his stomach was what echoed the most throughout the road. He had lost the sensation of his legs for a while. Even maintaining his open eyes gave him an effort he never knew existed. The only fuel that prompted him forward was the faces of his family back home. One and only wish he held dear, to come back and to not become a cold corpse in a foreign land he never heard of. When he rubbed his hand to seek for the slightest warmth, he saw the frostbite fingers.he wanted to chuckle but instead turned into a soft whimper that escaped his lips. Despite this, he trod forward. Never looking back. Minutes stretched into eternity and his own flesh felt more of irons and steel to shackle him to the ground. For who knows how long, his feet hit a rough staircase and the big wooden door with a board on t
