Chapter 1
Woosh!" A bag flew through the air, its strap flailing as it spun toward the end of the hallway.
“Hey, Miko! Fetch your precious bag!” a boy jeered, his tone thick with mockery. Miko sprinted after it, sweat dripping down his face. “Give it back!” he shouted, voice cracking. The bullies laughed. One of them, tall and sharp-faced, intercepted the bag mid-air and tossed it to another. “Come on, Miko. Crawl for it!” the tall boy sneered. “I’m not crawling,” Miko replied, trying to keep his voice steady despite the tremble. “Oh, look at him! Acting all tough now.” The boy stepped forward, shoving Miko’s shoulder hard. “Crawl!” another chimed in, punting the bag further down the hallway. Miko clenched his fists, his heart thudding. He stepped forward, refusing to back down. “Not moving, huh? Fine—take this instead!” A fist struck his stomach. He doubled over as laughter erupted around him. Blows rained down, but he stayed silent, gritting his teeth against the pain. “Pathetic,” one sneered. “Why is he even here?” another muttered. “Charity case doesn’t belong in this school.” “Does he even have a family? Maybe he should join them in heaven,” a voice added cruelly. The bullies sauntered off, leaving Miko crumpled on the floor. His cheek pressed against the cold tiles as whispers from onlookers buzzed around him. Slowly, he pushed himself up, brushing dirt from his uniform. His hands shook as he grabbed his bag, now scuffed and frayed. “Just another day,” he muttered, limping toward his next class. ** Inside the classroom, rows of sleek desks filled the space, illuminated by floating mana orbs. The teacher, stern and gray-haired, stood at the front, his voice sharp. “All right! Let’s go over this one more time,” he barked, striking the glowing whiteboard with a pointer. “Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, Lightning and Light,” the teacher looked towards the classroom. “These are the top of the bunch elements,” he said, dropping the pointer. “Affinity plays a key role here, Affinity refers to a person's natural connection or alignment with a specific element or type of magic. Let’s say you come from a lineage of fire mage’s. You would definitely have a strong affinity for fire.” “Can anyone explain the relationship between elemental forces and magic?” “Yes, Casy?” “Magic is the manifestation of elemental forces—fire, water, wind, and earth—channeled through a mage's affinity.” “Exactly. In as much as we have the top of the bunch elements, we also have elements like metal, sound, poison and some other useless elements which are not common here in the city of Lunaria,” the teacher said. The door creaked at the back of the room. Heads turned as Miko slipped inside, clutching his bag. The teacher’s eyes narrowed. “Speaking of useless elements. Late again, Miko?” Miko froze. “I... uh...” “Let me guess,” the teacher said with a smirk. “Your imaginary bullies stole your bag again?” “They actually did,” Miko muttered, face burning as laughter rippled through the class. “Bullies? In a school like this? Stop making excuses and sit down. Useless.” Miko ducked his head and shuffled to the back corner. But just as he reached his seat, the bell rang. “Another class missed,” he whispered as students gathered their things. “Head to the training grounds!” the teacher called. “Transfer trials are next.” Excited chatter filled the air as students rushed out. “Finally!” someone cheered. “Time to show off!” another grinned. Miko stayed seated, watching them leave. He sighed, gripping the edge of his desk, his shoulders slumping.Expand

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 191
The message came two hours after the championship ceremony ended. "All tournament finalists report to Conference Room Seven immediately. Bring identification. Come alone." Miko stared at the official notice that had been slipped under his door. His team gathered around him, reading over his shoulder. "That's weird," Akiya said. "Why would they want just the competitors?" "And why come alone?" Anna added, her healer instincts picking up on the ominous tone. "Something's up," Liam muttered, already pulling out his tablet to research Conference Room Seven. "This room is in the secure wing of the academy. High-level meetings only." Miko folded the notice and put it in his pocket. "Guess I'll find out." "We're coming with you," Akiya said immediately. "The notice says come alone." "Since when do you follow rules?" Miko smiled at that. "Since they might involve my friends getting in trouble. Stay here. I'll be back soon." The walk to Conference Room Seven took him through parts o

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 190
The cheering didn't stop.Even after Hayes officially declared Miko the champion, even after the medics carried Samson away on a stretcher, the crowd kept roaring. Twenty thousand people on their feet, screaming his name like he'd just saved the world."MIKO! MIKO! MIKO!"The sound echoed off the arena walls, growing louder instead of fading. People were crying, laughing, throwing their hats in the air. Some were taking pictures with their phones, trying to capture the moment a sixteen-year-old kid destroyed a Church weapon with his bare hands. In the Church section, the reaction was very different."How is this possible?" one priest whispered to another."A holy sword, shattered by a child," Father Marcus said quietly, his face pale. "The consecration should have protected it.""What kind of power does he possess?""Something we clearly underestimated."The Church representatives huddled together, their earlier confidence completely gone. They spoke in hushed, urgent tones, glancing

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 189
Fire burst from his skin like he was a human volcano. The heat was so intense that every drop of sweat on his body evaporated instantly, turning to steam that rose around him in shimmering waves."What the hell is this?" Samson stumbled backward, his holy sword wavering. But that was just the beginning.Miko's body began to separate - not physically splitting apart, but dividing into two distinct elemental halves. His left side became pure ash, gray smoke swirling around him like living shadow. His right side blazed with raw fire, flames dancing across his skin in brilliant orange and red. The ash alone was corrupting the podium, and the fire was burning deep into the ground. No one needed to see the results of the fight, everyone could feel the pressure coming from Miko’s manifestation. The crowd gasped. Nobody had ever seen dual manifestation before. It was supposed to be a myth."Oh my god," someone whispered from the stands.Samson raised his sword, divine light blazing. "Impossib

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 188
The arena had never seen anything like this.Every seat was packed. People hung from the upper railings. The overflow sections were standing room only, with screens showing close-ups of the arena floor. Street vendors couldn't keep up with demand for food and championship merchandise.Miko walked onto the field. The roar was deafening - cheers, boos, chants, and arguments all blending into one massive wall of sound. In the VIP section, Imperial officials sat in their fancy uniforms. Military generals, academy directors, and politicians who normally wouldn't care about student competitions. They weren't here for entertainment. They were here to evaluate. The Church section was smaller but more organized. Priests in white robes sat perfectly still, their faces calm and confident. Father Marcus was in the front row, his scarred hands folded in his lap. He looked like a man watching his plans come together."Ladies and gentlemen!" The announcer's voice boomed over the crowd. "Welcome to t

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 187
Miko woke up before dawn.He sat up slowly, testing his range of movement. Better than yesterday, but not by much. His burned hand was still wrapped in bandages. The cut across his chest pulled when he breathed deep.Outside his window, the tournament grounds were already busy. Workers set up additional seating sections. Security guards checked barriers. Food vendors wheeled carts into position. The championship match was still hours away, but thousands of people were already gathering.A soft knock interrupted his thoughts. "It's me," Anna's voice came through the door.He let her in. She carried a medical bag and looked like she hadn't slept."How are you feeling?" she asked."Like I got hit by a Church weapon.""Funny." She sat on his bed and opened her bag. "Let me check those wounds again."Anna unwrapped the bandages on his hand. The burns looked better, but angry red lines still marked where he'd grabbed Samson's sword. When she touched them, energy flowed from her fingers."Th

Sovereign of The Abyss Chapter 186
The long break was in Motion.Anna had spent three hours working on his injuries. The cuts from Samson's sword were the worst - they wouldn't heal properly, like the holy energy was still burning inside them. She'd done what she could, but her light healing struggled against Church consecration."I can't fix everything," she said, wiping sweat from her forehead. "That sword did something to these wounds. They'll heal, but slowly."Miko sat on his bed, feeling like he'd been hit by a truck. His ribs ached where the sword hilt had caught him. His burned hand was wrapped in bandages. The cut across his chest pulled every time he breathed."How bad is it?" he asked."Bad enough that any sane person would forfeit tomorrow's match."Akiya paced by the window like a caged animal. "This is crazy. They brought a Church weapon to a student tournament. That's not competition, that's assassination.""Technically legal assassination," Liam added from his corner. He'd been researching all evening,
