The Jade Pond

The cave looked inconspicuous and could only allow one person to pass sideways. Moreover, the cave was surrounded by overgrown weeds and was in a dilapidated state. Yun Feng would not have discovered this place if it weren't for Furball leading the way.

Looking back at Yun Feng, Furball twisted its plump body and got in. Seeing this, Yun Feng walked in cautiously without much hesitation.

The scene inside was obviously very different from the one outside the cave. Inside the cave was an extremely empty space, and there was a slight cold wind coming from deep inside the cave, which made him feel a little nervous.

Furball walked straight deeper into the cave without any pause. Yun Feng was afraid that Furball would be in danger and followed closely. In fact, Yun Feng was a little redundant, because since Furball dared to come to this place without hesitation, he should have known that the little fox knew something about this place.

After all, the senses of monsters were many times stronger than that of humans. If there was really any danger, Furball would probably have escaped long ago.

The two of them continued to  advance deeper into the cave one after another. As they went deeper, the cold wind became more and more freezing. The temperature in the cave gradually began to drop. Yun Feng's temples had already gathered a little bit of dew, but when he saw that Furball was still going deeper, he gritted his teeth and followed closely. In this current life, Furball was his only friend now, and he didn't want his only friend to have an accident.

The dew on Yun Feng's temples had turned to frost. Yun Feng, who was wearing a single robe, had begun to shiver, but he could not retreat and did not dare to retreat. Curiosity of what to be seen had overcome him. He wanted to see what Furball was doing by bringing him here, but it couldn't be because he didn't want anything unexpected to happen to his only friend.

Yun Feng moved slowly forward in the cold cave, following Furball.

Just when Yun Feng was about to give up on this lost sojourn, Furball in front suddenly stopped and squeaked a few times. Then it pressed its furry little paws on a protruding place on the mountain wall.

There was a loud screeching sound, and a door appeared on the stone wall in front of them. Furball walked in without any hesitation, followed closely by Yun Feng.

"Wow. No way." As soon as he entered the gate, Yun Feng was amazed by the beautiful scenery in front of him.

The towering peaks were covered by the thick clouds, and the dense mountain forests were lush and green. From time to time, a few unknown small  beasts ran out and secretly looked at the two uninvited guests, Yun Feng and Furball. The flowing water was filled with beautiful fish and blue sky with chirping birds and the air with the fragrance of flowers.

As far as the eye could see was a looming attic.

"Could it be that Furball was raised by someone else?" Yun Feng murmured to himself. He knew that the people who could live in such a place were probably some reclusive people. Such people  generally have a bad temper and are moody. Now Yun Feng didn't want to be caught in such a net. Looking around, he shouted loudly to the attic. "I apologize if I have offended you by accidentally entering this place."

No one answered him except a flock of birds.

"Is there no one here?" Yun Feng boldly walked towards that building.

Behind him,  the big and smart eyes of Furball also narrowed into a line. A bright light flashed across his eyes, and then vanished in a flash.

"Boy Yun Feng pay homage to the master, owner of this house." Yun Feng saluted before arriving at the attic.

After a long time, no one responded.

"Is there no one here?" Yun Feng pushed the door open and entered.

"It seems no one has lived here for a long time." Seeing the thick dust in the hall, Yun Feng murmured to himself. Even though there was so much dust, the hall was filled with a fragrance different from the fragrance of flowers. It was a special aroma.

The refreshing fragrance made his body feel so comfortable. Yun Feng felt that the pain in his body had greatly improved at this moment.

"What on earth is this thing emitting that has such an effect?" Yun Feng went in search of the fragrance, and found behind the screen, a jade pond about ten feet in diameter that was completely made of jade, and was half way filled. The green liquid was colorful against the jade, and the fragrant scent was emitted by this green liquid.

"What on earth is this?" Yun Feng squatted down, ready to see what on earth this was.

At this moment, the fur ball behind him showed a cunning smile on his harmless little face, and his furry little paws gently touched Yun Feng's back. Poor Yun Feng seemed to have been hit hard. Immediately, he fell into the jade pond.

"Noooo." Yun Feng  quickly stood up and struggled to leave the jade pond, but he was surprised to find that his body could not move at this moment. The originally lifeless jade pond was alive at this moment, and a heavy pressure pushed Yun Feng's body straight down. He was pressed straight into the jade pond.

"Heeeeeeelp." Yun Feng screamed in fright. He never thought that such a situation would occur at this time.

His consciousness gradually blurred, and before Yun Feng completely lost consciousness, he saw Furball grinning at him.

Yun Feng lost consciousness, and the green liquid wrap around his body.

Furball yowled a few times at the unconscious Yun Feng whose body was beginning to become translucent.

"Um, where is this place?" Yun Feng rubbed his swollen head and carefully looked at everything around him. This was a gray space without any life or sound. There were only glowing orbs of groups floating in front of Yun Feng, making the whole scene look particularly strange.

"Can anyone tell me what this place is?" Yun Feng shouted loudly.

"Haha, little guy, this is your sea of consciousness." Suddenly a laughter sounded in this silent space.

"My sea of consciousness, how could I appear in my sea of consciousness? Who are you?" Yun Feng asked loudly.

"I'm right here in front of you." After saying that, an illusory figure appeared not far from Yun Feng. This was a figure of an old man. At this time, he was looking at Yun Feng in front of him with a smile.

"Who are you?" Yun Feng asked warily.

"Hehehe, don't worry about who I am. Worry about who you are."

"I'm nobody."

"Mmm. Well, nobody, do you want to become more than nobody, become more than you are?" The old man asked.

"Yes, I want to..." Yun Feng answered before pausing. He was not a fool. "What do I need to do? There must be something you required from me."

"I just need you to help me complete one thing."

"I thought so." Yun Feng stared curiously at the old man. "So, what do you want me to do?"

"Wait until your strength is high enough, then you'll help me deal with someone."

"Why me?"

"I thought you were the person chosen by my spiritl pet. I believe in its choice."

"You mean furball."

"Yes."

"Okay then." Yun Feng believed that Furball wouldn't harm him, so he agreed. He seemed to think of something, "How can you help me?"

"You just need to relax and everything will be fine with me." The old man said with a smile.

"Okay then." Yun Feng said. In fact, he also understood that he had no power to resist in front of this old man.

"Be prepared." The old figure shouted loudly, and an unusually powerful force crazily poured into Yun Feng's body.

"Aaaaaaaaargh." The heartbreaking pain made Yun Feng scream, and then he fainted.

At this time, an energy storm was raging in Yun Feng's sea of consciousness.
