"What are you talking about? Uncle Max is your father!" When Anna, who was in despair and pain, heard these words, she immediately turned her gaze to Jeffrey and scolded him harshly.

Surprisingly, Jeffrey was even more apprehensive than Anna, and shouted, "What the hell can I do? If you want to save him, you can just go back to the shore. In no way am I going back there."

Ryan looked at Jeffrey who was chattering non-stop with cold eyes, and with a sneer on his face, "How can you say that? Maxw

Chapter 4: A Five-Star Researcher"Brother Ryan, can I take a look?"A girl's voice suddenly came from behind Ryan.He turned around and discovered Lindsey leaning against the doorframe, peering curiously into the laboratory. He had no idea when she had arrived."Lindsey, this isn't a game. This stuff is genuinely difficult to understand."Although Ryan warned her, he still allowed her into the laboratory. Since everyone else was at a loss, letting her take a look couldn't hurt. With his permission, Lindsey hurried over to Cindy's computer and squeezed in front of the screen. The code was indeed complicated, but to Lindsey, it didn't seem quite as intimidating as everyone made it out to be. It was more like a foreign language she hadn't fully learned yet."Lindsey, you've been staring at the screen for a while without saying anything. Have you noticed something?" Ryan asked.Lindsey finally turned toward him."Brother Ryan, I'd like to give it a try."She stretched out her hands and p

  • 791. A Place to Stay

Chapter 3: A Place to StayLindsey settled into Ryan's research institute that very evening.Ryan casually chose an empty laboratory for her to stay in. The laboratory itself wasn't important; what mattered was the small room attached to it. It had a bed and everything she needed to spend the night comfortably.Ryan's new research institute had no shortage of rooms. What it lacked was researchers. Giving Lindsey a place to stay was hardly a problem. After making sure she was settled, Ryan returned to his own laboratory and continued working on his research. He worked late into the night, only dragging himself to bed when exhaustion finally overcame him.The next morning, a hesitant knock at the laboratory door woke him.The knocking came in fits and starts, as though whoever stood outside wasn't sure whether to disturb him.Ryan jumped out of bed, hurriedly ran his fingers through his disheveled hair, and went to open the door. Two unexpected visitors stood outside: Lindsey's parents.

  • 790. Rebellious Young Girl

Chapter 2: A Runaway GirlSummer evenings were much cooler than the scorching days. As the sun slowly sank below the horizon, a gentle breeze swept through Hunter Village, carrying away the day's heat.Ryan and Jonas were taking a leisurely walk around the village when they heard a commotion coming from a nearby house.“Look at your grades! How can you possibly explain this?” a middle-aged man shouted angrily. “All you do is sit in front of that computer. Why can't you learn something useful instead?”“That's enough!” a woman added. “Look at Ryan. He's so young, yet he's already accomplished so much. And what about Brady? He didn't even finish high school, but he taught himself everything he needed to become a researcher. Why can't you learn from him?”“I can't do it!” a girl's voice screamed from inside the house. “I've tried, but I just can't learn those things! Why won't you leave me alone?”“Look at the way you're talking to us!” the man roared.A loud crash followed, as though so

  • 789. Summer Vacation

The leaders' inspection lasted until late afternoon, almost dinnertime, before they finally departed.Mr. Zachary led his team on a tour of the village, visiting nearly every place of interest and stopping wherever there was something worth discussing. He even made a special trip to Ryan's home to pay a formal visit to his mother, the woman everyone now referred to as the Mother of Scientists.Of course, Ryan only learned about this much later. These days, he rarely returned home except to eat. The newly established research institute had prepared a small room with a bed for every researcher, allowing them to rest whenever they grew tired without having to return to Ryan's house.Cindy and Jonas had already felt somewhat embarrassed about staying at Ryan's home for so long. As soon as their own rooms were ready, they moved into the research institute as well. Now, they only returned to Ryan's house for meals.Jonas, however, still felt uncomfortable about constantly eating at Ryan's h

  • 788. End of Inspection

The cameras kept filming the group of leaders working in the fields, and the cameras kept flashing at them. Ryan, with his hands in the pockets of his white coat, looked at them with amusement. So this was what the TV station's visit meant. This has absolutely nothing to do with Ryan, nor with his invention. He was just there to keep everyone company. What's more important is how this group of people looked in the fields. Ryan almost laughed. He felt that he had come for nothing. He would have been better off doing more experiments instead of wasting his time. A short while later, the leaders who had gone to the fields came out of the fields, wiping the sweat from their foreheads. Seeing that everyone had gathered again at the edge of the field, Sandra cleared his throat and said a few polite words to the villagers in the field. Everyone nodded in agreement with him, responding with smiles. Clearly, the task here was completed, and Sandra led everyone slowly toward the next des

  • 787. Second Inspection

At night, Ryan was conducting his research in the laboratory as usual. It should have been a peaceful night. Ryan, as usual, studied until late into the night, and when he was tired or felt it was time to stop, he went home to sleep. But his peace was shattered by Mr. Wallace's unexpected intrusion. Ryan now deeply regrets not adding a lock to the door when he built the lab. "Ryan! Something terrible has happened!" Mr. Wallace ran to the opposite side of Ryan's research table, shouting and yelling. He placed his hands on the table and looked nervous. "Stop arguing, stop arguing. You've been the village party secretary for a month now, you should act like one." Ryan concluded that what Mr. Wallace said wasn't a big deal and didn't intend to stop what he was doing, but Mr. Wallace's interruption slowed his movements considerably. "Yes, that's right. The town leaders are coming to inspect again." Following Ryan's advice, Mr. Wallace took a deep breath to calm himself down and be
