Chapter 1

"Hey kid, go throw out the trash. We're closed for the day." Henry heard his boss through the kitchen. He just finished washing the dirty dishes.

"Coming sir," he quickly replied, turning off the tap and drying his hands. He went to carry the dirt bag and trashed it outside.

"Here's you pay for the day. Don't forget to check in early tomorrow, it's your colleague's day off." His boss said, throwing 50$ at him like he would for a beggar. Then waved him off, dismissing him for the day.

Henry quickly picked the money on the floor, collected his things and left the building.

He worked part-time job as a waiter in a small local shop close to where he's living.

He started jogging, not wanting to be late to his girlfriend's birthday party.

He stop by a pastry shop staring at a cake.

"This is so pretty. Sofia will surely love this cake. I hope my wages would be enough to buy this."

A sweet smile flashed across Henry Anderson's face as he stared at the cake he was holding.

The heart on top of the cake was formed by two swans snuggling with each other.

Additionally, Sofia Harrison's favorite color was white. Henry was well aware of this because they had been dating for three years.

He spent all the money he earned from part-time jobs this month in order to purchase this gorgeous cake.

Her birthday party would cost her at least one hundred thousand dollars.

Since both their families weren't rich, he had no idea how she could afford such an extravagant party in a luxurious hotel.

When Henry arrived at the venue, he glanced at the clock on his phone and he realized that it was nearly time for the birthday celebration. However, his girlfriend had yet to arrive.

Suddenly, an expensive car was parked by the hotel entrance. From the car emerged a man and a woman.

With a lascivious expression, the man groped the girl's butt. Embarrassed, the girl slightly twisted her body and playfully tapped the man's shoulder.

"Hey, be gentle."

The man with a large beer belly was Donald White. He was forty years old and the proud owner of the car. The suit he was wearing was specially tailored by the brand Armani.

The beautiful and alluring woman walking beside him was Sofia.

Unfortunately, Henry saw how physically intimate the two were.

At that moment, he realized that his girlfriend was cheating on him.

Apparently, her paramour was a middle-aged man.

"Sofia!"

Henry called out to her. With eyes seething with anger, he approached them.

Sofia was so distressed that she wanted to walk away from there.

"How dare you bother us? Who are you?"

Donald stared at Henry with a haughty expression.

Sofia was about to say something, but Henry immediately said, "I'm Sofia's boyfriend. Who the hell are you?"

When they heard Henry's answer, Sofia and Donald pulled long faces.

"What are you doing here? I told you to come after the party ends," Sofia said in a vexed voice. Although she was upset, she managed to keep a straight face.

A painful sensation spread in Henry's heart. In a cracked voice, he said, "l wouldn't know you are cheating on me if I didn't come."

Meanwhile, Donald glared daggers at the man who said that he was Sofia's boyfriend.

There were stains of black and blue all over the man's garment, as well as on his pants.

Overall, he seemed like a homeless person who woke up from a pile of rubbish and happened to appear there.

The man was holding a cheap cake that was the size of his palm. Donald thought that his servants were more affluent than the destitute guy in front of him.

"How dare you claim to be Sofia's boyfriend when you're a total loser? Have you ever seen her naked? Tell me, how many moles does she have on her bosom?" Donald scoffed as he wrapped his arms around Sofia.

"What do you mean? Sofia, have you slept with this man?" Henry's face darkened, yet he still had a hopeful light in his eyes as he looked at Sofia.

Unfortunately, only Sofia's enigmatic gaze welcomed him. "Henry, I know how much you care about me, but I think you've got something wrong. You are not my boyfriend.

Henry felt as though a dagger was thrust into his chest with these remarks.

A bitter smile flashed across his lips as he clenched his fists so tight that his nails dug into his flesh. "Does that mean that our relationship is only in my imagination?"

"Leave me alone!" Sofia yelled with an irate face. Embarrassment was apparent in her expression.

When she waved her hand, she accidentally hit the cake and made it fall to the ground.

Because of the loose packaging, the cake flew out of the box. With a thud, it splattered on the sidewalk.

The mud on the ground tainted the pure white frosting. The swans' heads, which had been carefully sculpted from white chocolate, cracked upon impact.

At that moment, Henry had the sensation that his heart was being ripped apart.

"Do you have any idea who Donald is? As the vice general manager of this hotel, he earns a million dollars yearly. With his wealth, he could easily afford a million cakes like that."

"Look. There's a homeless person trying to get close to Sofia." Suddenly, several young women stepped out of the hotel to observe the situation. They were gossiping and giggling while looking at Henry's shameful appearance.

"How dare an impoverished mutt like him ruin my day?"

With an arrogant look, Donald stepped on the head of a swan, breaking it into pieces.

Then, he put his hands around Sofia's waist as the two of them entered A.G.N Hotel without looking back at Henry.

For the rest of his life, Henry would be haunted by the sarcasm and mocking of those two.

Sofia had easily disregarded their three-year relationship for money.

The bashful expression on her face when they went on their first date was still fresh in his mind.

In Henry's younger years, her bright grin was like a breath of fresh air and a beam of sunlight for him.

Walking to the bank of a river, Henry could barely bear the pain in his heart. As he stared into the water, he saw the reflection of his dejected expression.

He grabbed a stone off the riverbank and chucked it into the river.

A loud howl escaped his breath to vent his anger. It was as if Donald and Sofia were in the river, and he was screaming at them.

However, the one he hated most was himself for being a coward.

He was a guy who lived in abject poverty and was completely helpless. Since he was a youngster, he had been the victim of several injustices. It seemed like there was no end to his sufferings.

"In the event that I become wealthy, I will without a doubt get revenge. All those who have wronged me will regret what they have done as they grovel under my feet."

His eyes were filled with anger and rabid hate. Henry wanted nothing more than to express his frustration.

For an hour, he sat by the river and thought back on every aspect of his relationship with Sofia.

A tremendous agony arose in Henry's heart. However, he had to eventually calm himself, no matter how difficult the situation was.

"I had better head home."

Ten minutes later, Henry arrived at a decrepit apartment on the outskirts of the city.

After he got off the bus, Henry started walking toward the building labeled No. 1.

He was living on the first floor of the No. 1 building. This little space was just thirty square meters in size. It had two bedrooms and one living room, so it was extremely humble.

Upon arriving at the building, Henry noticed a gorgeous dark Pagani.

Even if he worked for the rest of his life, Henry couldn't afford such a premium vehicle. However, one was currently parked just outside his home.

An elderly guy in white gloves and a tuxedo was waiting patiently for Henry to arrive.

The elderly gentleman bowed respectfully and greeted, "Hello, Mr. Anderson. I've been looking forward to seeing you for a very long time. My name is Christopher Griffin, your father's butler. As per his order, I have deposited a hundred million dollars into your account as pocket money."

"Are you serious? He's giving me one hundred million dollars? That much wealth is only pocket money? Don't be ridiculous. My daily meal is composed of bread and pickles. I can only have meat once a month at most. I'm broke as f**k . Are you still going to try to trick me?"

Believing that the man in front of him was a conman, Henry helplessly waved his hand.

His mother was very sickly, while his father, who was already dead, belonged to a family of peasants.

Neither his parents nor his relatives had twenty thousand dollars in the bank, let alone a vehicle.

Since he came from such an impoverished background, there was no way he could have a butler and a premium vehicle.

There was no way his father would give him one hundred million dollars as pocket money.

"Your allowance will be transferred to your account soon enough. By that time, you will know that I am not a liar", Christopher said with a bright smile.

Ding!

Suddenly, Henry's phone received a notification. Apparently, the bank had sent him a message.

"Greetings, Mr. Anderson. One hundred million dollars has been deposited into your account. Your new account balance is one hundred million and five dollars."

When Henry read the details on the bank application on his phone, his jaw dropped in disbelief. One hundred million dollars is truly deposited in his account. "Is this a dream?"
