Chapter 01

In a hospital ward, there lay a young man with his hands and feet wrapped in bandages.

This young man was named Ryu Bastian, a twenty–year–old who had suffered quite a misfortune.

He had already been in the ward for about ten days, and today was the eleventh day he stayed there.

But exactly at nine in the morning, Ryu slowly opened his eyes. He saw a bright white ceiling.

"Where am I?" Ryu muttered in a faint voice.

The nurse who was watching over Ryu was instantly startled. "You are awake? Wait! Don’t move too much, I will call the doctor!"

The nurse hurriedly left the ward, she went to where the doctor was.

Meanwhile Ryu, he could not move at all. His whole body hurt as if his bones were crushed.

"Arh!" Ryu groaned low, then strange memories struck his mind. This made him close his eyes again.

It did not take long before memories of the previous incident appeared in his mind. Ryu breathed heavily and his expression turned gloomy.

"Evelyn...!" Ryu’s tone was full of anger, but he held it back for now because of the severe injuries he suffered this time.

"My fate is truly miserable! After being betrayed, then falsely accused, I ended up being beaten by those thugs!"

"After the beating, I was hit by a fully loaded truck!"

Ryu spoke softly, his tone heavy as if revealing his long–held bitterness.

Right at that moment, the ward door opened. The nurse who was guarding him now approached together with a man in a white coat.

"How are you, son?" The doctor asked in a serious tone.

"I am fine, Doc. It’s just that my body feels painful..." Ryu replied, not hiding the pain in his body.

The doctor nodded, then he carried out a series of examinations. It did not take long before the doctor spoke.

"Your condition is normal, it’s just that you suffered broken and fractured bones." The doctor said calmly.

"Do you have family around here? If you do, we will contact them and inform your family."

Ryu shook his head when asked about family. "Both of my parents have passed away."

The doctor instantly fell silent, his eyes fixed on Ryu for a moment. He realized and spoke awkwardly.

"Sorry..." Only one word came out of the doctor’s mouth. Ryu himself shook his head and answered lightly.

"It’s okay, it happened a long time ago."

"Besides that, is there any problem with the head, Doc?" Ryu asked suddenly.

The doctor checked for a moment, then he shook his head. "There is no problem at all with the head, did something happen?"

Ryu wanted to say something, but he stopped. "Nothing, I just remembered cases of people before."

"Where they were hit by a car and instantly lost their memory."

The doctor smiled when he heard Ryu’s words. "That only happened when their head was directly struck hard."

Ryu nodded in agreement, then the doctor wrote something for a moment. "I will come back this afternoon."

"Thank you, Doc!" Ryu spoke lightly and was answered with a nod from the doctor.

Just as the doctor had left, Ryu focused his gaze on the floating screen in front of his eyes.

Ryu glanced around and realized that he was in a special ward, where there was no one else but himself.

"Am I hallucinating?" Ryu muttered in his heart, but there was no answer, instead the same voice appeared in his mind.

Ryu spoke in his heart. "Log In!"

[Ding! Login successful!]

[Congratulations, the Host has obtained 100 million Dollars.]

[The money has been transferred into your Bank Card, Host.]

Ryu’s eyes widened when he saw that, but then he realized something—that he could not check his balance right now.

"Ugh, damn! I got money, but I can’t use it." Ryu said in his heart, before he gave up and stared at the ceiling blankly.

"System... Is it only about logging in, nothing else?" Ryu muttered, which was immediately answered by several functions of the system appearing.

Ryu observed the two other functions of the system, namely status and inventory or commonly called storage space.

Ryu chose status first, then he saw the status regarding himself.

[Money : 100 Million Dollars.]

[The Host’s current condition, severely injured with several fractured and broken bones.]

Seeing his flat status, Ryu only memorized it briefly and opened his storage space.
