Wearing her thick coat, Jasmine sat on the long sofa in the apartment living room, holding her phone to her ear. She looked annoyed. She had tried calling Magnus several times, but he still wasn't picking up.

"Come on, Magnus. I have to leave for work. And where are you anyway? Am I really supposed to leave Mom here alone?" Jasmine grumbled.

She was starting the afternoon shift today, and ideally, because the coffee shop where she worked was quite far from the apartment, she needed to leave at least 40 minutes before her start time. She clicked her tongue in frustration. Magnus really shouldn't have gone anywhere today.

What about Jonas? His school day was over, but he said he had to go to the Chinese restaurant where he worked part-time because there was something important he needed to take care of. This added to Jasmine's frustration. How could both of her brothers be absent from the apartment at the same time—when she urgently needed to leave?

"Jasmine?"

"Yes, Mom?"

  • Aren’t You Going To Give Me A Goodbye Kiss?

In The Dark Venom’s secret headquarters, inside a descending elevator...“So, what’s your plan now? You’ve openly challenged Patrick. It’s highly likely he’ll send his men after your siblings again,” Krystal Lim said.“They’ll be safe,” Magnus replied. “Jasmine is being closely watched and protected by your people, and Clara will help me look after Jonas. Let them come out and attack us openly.”“It seems Patrick doesn't know he's also dealing with me. It wouldn't be surprising if he really sends more of his men. Should I make an appearance—show myself to him?”Magnus shook his head. “No need. Not yet. I actually want to lure him into deploying everything he has. That way, I can crush him in one fell swoop.”“I see.” Krystal Lim nodded.DING!The elevator stopped, and the doors opened. They both stepped out. They were now in the basement parking area.Krystal Lim led Magnus to her car. They got in. Krystal Lim sat in the driver’s seat, buckled up, and started the engine.“About those

  • I Am Patrick, The Kingpin of Merseyvale

SMASH!!!“Useless piece of trash! How the hell did he fail to bring that woman to me!”Patrick was raging in The Giant Skull's headquarters, inside a private room that no one could enter without his permission. With him in the room were four other men. They were the Giant Skull mobsters he had always been able to rely on the most. There was supposed to be one more, the silver-haired buzzcut.“Where are they now? Why haven't they returned yet?!” Patrick demanded, glaring at his four best men.“Word is... they were taken by the enemy, Boss,” one of them, whose hair was tied in a ponytail, replied.“Taken by the enemy? You mean they're prisoners now?”“That’s right, Boss.”CRASH!!Patrick slammed the baseball bat in his right hand into a wooden chair nearby. The backrest snapped. The seat was dented and cracked.“Motherfuckers! Who the hell dares to challenge me! Do they know they’re up against one of the most feared mafia organizations in this city—The Giant Skull?!”No one dared to res

  • Sebastian, I Need Your Help

The Giant Skull mobsters—including the silver-haired buzzcut—turned toward the explosion and were stunned. Someone had just fired a rocket. Their cars were now engulfed in flames. Fireballs and black smoke billowed into the air.“Do you understand your situation now?” the deep-voiced man sneered. “Now let the woman go before something worse happens to you and your freshly arrived buddies.”The buzzcut stared at him, suppressing his rage. The backup he’d called, which had just arrived, was suddenly crippled—useless. They realized that someone was in place to shoot at them from a distance. And given that this person could easily blow up those cars, taking all of them down shouldn't be a problem either. As a result, they were hesitant. They looked at the buzzcut questioningly, hoping their superior in The Giant Skull would give them direction or an order. But the buzzcut was at a dead end himself. The situation had changed too suddenly, too drastically. He didn't have enough time to thin

  • Why Don't You Just Surrender?

Seeing his third guy drop, the silver-haired buzzcut spun around, his eyes darting, trying to pinpoint the damn sniper. He yelled at his two remaining crew to get in the car, fast. But just as both of them were about to climb in, the sniper went to work again. CRACK! CRACK! Both men went down hard.“W-what’s happening?” Jasmine asked, panicked.“Shut the hell up! Get down!” the buzzcut barked, wrenching Jasmine’s left shoulder and forcing her head down.He ducked himself. He pulled his phone from his pocket, dialing someone.“I need backup here. We’re taking fire,” the buzzcut man said. The person on the other end said something inaudible. Two seconds later, the call ended, and the buzzcut drew his sidearm.Who was the sniper taking down the buzzcut’s crew? He was a Dark Venom enforcer, one of Krystal Lim’s best shooters. And he wasn't alone. Several other Dark Venom operatives were lying in wait, ready to move in and ambush the buzzcut and his crew in case the sniper failed to neut

  • You’re Coming With Us. Now!

The next day, around 2 p.m. Jasmine was working part-time as usual. Occasionally, she scanned the room. Although nothing strange or suspicious had happened so far, she remained vigilant. What she had experienced two days earlier made it difficult for her to do her job relaxed.Magnus had indeed guaranteed that she would be safe. She also hadn't dismissed Magnus's hired guards who were secretly watching over her, even though she didn't know where they were hiding. But still, she was worried. She probably wouldn't feel truly calm and relieved until Magnus told her he had dealt with the people involved in her kidnapping.Yesterday had been problem-free. Coming home quite late, she was briefly anxious, worried that people would follow the taxi she was in again. But her worries proved unfounded. This morning was safe too. So far, everything was normal except for the lingering feeling of anxiety. At this point, she was surprised by the appearance of Bianca. Entering the coffee shop alone,

  • I Want You To Finish Him Before Monday

Clara stared at Jonas with a furrowed brow. Jonas looked back sharply. He seemed determined not to let Clara leave without an answer.“What’s your name? Jonas?”“Yeah.”“Why do you say I’m not an ordinary civilian? What makes you think that?”“Easy. There’s no way an ordinary civilian—especially a woman—sneaks into Gloria’s office and snatches a whip from her hand that easily. At the very least, you’re a woman who’s used to fighting or brawling. Are you an athlete? Or a mobster?”There was a moment of silence, then Clara laughed. She kept laughing.“You’re hilarious, Jonas,” she said, putting on her helmet. “You can think what you want, but I’m definitely not an athlete. And about my relationship with Magnus, we’re good friends. Well, we only became friends recently, but I already consider him a close friend. So, when he asks for help, I help him. That’s what happened this time.”Clara started her engine. Jonas quickly positioned himself in front of Clara’s sports bike, holding onto t
