Chris was still deeply asleep when the system suddenly beeped, jolting him awake. He yawned loudly and stretched his arms, feeling the stiffness in his newly strengthened body.

“Omo, allow me sleep na!” He spoke softly, his eyes sliding open reluctantly.

(“Please, let me sleep, damn it!”)

“This system, no be so them dey wake person up oh!” Chris murmured, still half-asleep. He sat up slowly and gave the back of his head a good, satisfying scratch.

(“This system, this is not how people are supposed to be woken up oh!”)

[Notice: Chris You Dey Fear?]

(“Chris, are you afraid?”)

“Taaa! Fear wetin?” He exclaimed, planting his feet firmly on the ground. “I go show you why I be Naija boy today.”

(“Taaa! Afraid of what?” … “I will show you why I’m a Naija boy today.”)

Chris completed the grueling exercises with determination. His body grew hot and drenched in sweat from the intense effort. Exhausted but accomplished, he crumpled to the floor of the cave for a brief moment.

Chris clenched his fists tightly until his knuckles whitened. *It’s not going to be easy. But man must become strong. No matter what.*

He cleaned himself up and properly adjusted his outer sect robe. Marching towards the wooden door, he chugged down two full cups of fresh water to hydrate.

He knelt down briefly beside the stone slab.

“Father, if you fit hear me — watch over me today in Jesus Name, Amen.”

(“Father, if you can hear me…”)

“Alright, system. I don ready.” He tugged the wooden door open, and a cool morning breeze brushed calmly against his still-damp skin.

(“I’m ready.”)

He ventured boldly out into the mountain. Both suns burned high in the sky, already warming the air and casting long shadows across the red sands.

Deep into the mountains he marched, his eyes scanning everything with sharp focus at each step. His movements were silent and fluid, like a shadow blending into the environment.

He heard almost every subtle sound while roaming through the terrain.

Chris walked through the thick forest sections. He had already reached the northern side of the mountain.

“Today person come out to hunt, beast come dey hide,” Chris whispered to himself.

(“Today someone came out to hunt, and the beasts are hiding.”)

He spotted an open field up ahead and sprinted towards it with purpose.

“Arghh!”

As he sprinted toward the field, a low, thunderous grumble — deep and powerful — echoed loudly all around him.

Chris flinched, stumbling to an abrupt stop.

“I never hear that kin sound before, e no matter sha.” Whatever I encounter I will kill. He stilled himself, gathering his resolve.

(“I’ve never heard that kind of sound before, but it doesn’t matter sha.”)

He pressed on, following the source of the sound until he emerged from the forest edge.

Shit! His eyes widened in surprise. He quickly hid behind a nearby large boulder.

*Wetin be that thing?*

(“What is that thing?”)

[Grey Wolf]

[Realm: Qi Condensation Late Stage]

[Special Skill: Blood Claw]

The grey wolf was enormous, the size of a large truck. It lay still on the ground, seemingly resting.

*How can I kill this thing now? Can my fists be enough?* Chris muttered, his eyes carefully surveying the rocky field and the sleeping beast.

[Chris You Dey Fear?]

No, system. I was only thinking of a way to kill the beast. Chris stepped out of the boulder’s shadow boldly.

He took several deep, calming breaths.

“Oya oh! Time to prove once again why I be Naija boy.”

(“Lets goooo!”)

He bolted forward. The air seemed to detonate with the force of his charge.

“Hwfa, pussy cat?” Chris yelled out defiantly.

(“Hwfa, pussy cat?” (Hey, pussy cat?))

The wolf’s eyes snapped open, its piercing gaze meeting Chris’s head-on.

It towered over him menacingly, its massive body blocking out the light from the suns.

“Huuuuu.” The earth quaked beneath its awakening roar.

Chris halted for a split second, sweat dripping down his chin as he looked upward.

He grinned fiercely, adrenaline surging through his veins. *This kind of quest is terrible, but I like am.* His fingers dug into his palms until the knuckles showed white.

(“but I like it.”)

[Undying Courage Activated]

[Rhythmic Combat Intuition Engaged]

The open field stood in tense silence as man and beast stared each other down, each waiting for the other to make the first move.

“Boom.”

The air exploded like a thunderclap as the Naija youth dashed forward at blinding speed toward the wolf.

“Arghhhh!”

The wolf’s roar thundered across the field. It advanced aggressively, its heavy prints marking and cracking the muddy ground.

Both forces met violently at the center. The wolf’s mouth widened — teeth many and razor sharp, hungry for blood.

Chris leaped backwards instantaneously to create distance.

“Omo e no go easy, oh!” He sighed. He covered his nose with his sleeve. “Why you dey smell like expired sardine?”

(“Omo it’s not going to be easy oh!” … “Why do you smell like expired sardine?”)

The wolf came at him fast, launching attack after powerful attack — each one he evaded with growing precision and control.

The air suddenly grew thick and oppressive as a gravity-like force slammed into him. He dropped to one knee, blood spilling from his nose.

*Where this attack come from?* Chris whispered to himself.

(“Where did this attack come from?”)

Cracks spread across the earth like spiderwebs from the impact.

The wolf swung its massive tail directly at the Naija youth’s guts.

He tried to duck. Too late.

The next second he was sent flying through the air.

“Boom.”

He crashed hard into the earth.

The world tilted violently. Sound warped around him. His vision blurred at the edges as he struggled back to his feet.

Breathing hard, he fell back to one knee in pain.

“See animal wey we dey chop like ant for Africa anyhow, dey here dey beat me like small pikin.”

(“See an animal that we chop like ants back in Africa, yet here it’s beating me like a small child.”)

Chris lifted his eyes with defiance. The wolf’s energy was surging powerfully through its body.

He grunted, forcing himself back to his feet, jaws clenched tightly.

The wolf charged at him once more. The ground trembled under its thundering run.

He stood motionless for a moment. His heartbeat slowed. His mouth began moving — not talking, but humming a rhythmic tune.

The wolf’s huge and sharp claws dropped from above like a deadly judgment.

The Naija youth danced fluidly through most of the strikes but still sustained a painful injury to his back. The earth where the claw smashed shattered open violently.

Huge chunks of rocks and dust rose into the air like a storm.

The wolf jumped backwards, its eyes blazing red with rage, spit slipping from its foaming mouth.

Chris laughed boldly. “You don tire, my guy?”

(“You don tire, my guy?” (Are you tired now, my guy?))

The wolf’s movements slowly began lagging from exhaustion.

The clouds suddenly gathered overhead. The wolf’s energy detonated in a final surge.

The wolf’s claw tore through the air in a crimson red — a devastating three-way slash attack.

The earth fractured deeply from the force.

The Naija youth stood unfazed, drawing on his inner power.

*Time to test this my heritage.* Chris said, stretching his hand forward. Powerful Qi engulfed his palm in a glowing aura.

“Naija Heritage: Shield Of Shege!” He screamed out.

(Naija Heritage: Shield of Shege! (Shege = extreme suffering/trouble))

A giant ethereal hand materialized, its energy feeling alien and overwhelming to this world.

“BOOM.”

The ground around the two forces shattered completely. Huge chunks of earth flew into the air in all directions.

Dust and sand filled the sky. Nearby trees were split cleanly in halves by the shockwave.

“Naija Heritage: Pressure Of Tinubu!” Chris screamed once again.

(Naija Heritage: Pressure of Tinubu!)

The clouds parted dramatically. A giant brown sword appeared in the sky. Its immense pressure pinned the wolf down as it fell onto the blade — slicing its massive body cleanly into two halves.

“THUD.”

The two halves hit the surface with a heavy impact.

His laughter echoed throughout the entire battlefield. The heat was intense, and the thick stench of blood hung heavily in the air.

“I kill am oh! Naija no dey carry last.”

(“I killed it oh! Naija no dey carry last.” (Naija doesn’t come last.))

“Hmmm.” Chris licked the blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.

(“Something is worrying you oh, system… You want to kill me — the eyes I will use to admire yansh (ass) in the future, you want to switch them off.”)

He groaned in pain but stood to his feet with determination.

“Void Storage!” Chris whispered.

He stored the wolf’s massive body inside without hesitation.

Onto the next prey, he muttered. His legs were already marching forward with purpose.

He returned to the cave as the two suns were already setting on the horizon.

He sealed the door firmly, shut it tight, and powered up his insect lamp for light.

“E no easy, at all.” He eased onto the stone slab with a tired sigh.

(“It’s not easy at all.”)

At the dawn of the next day, he sat on top of the branch of a dark-colored tree — gazing thoughtfully at the sky.
