9. The Restroom

Mrs.Davis and Sally eagerly watch Lucian typing on his phone. When he noticed his account balance was just a hundred million dollars. He raised his gaze to the ladies staring at him curiously. “Excuse me, where is the restroom?” Lucian asked, shifting his eyes from Mrs.Davis to Sally.

“What?” Sally quickly cut in staring at Lucian like he was about to run away. “But you haven't made the payment,” she reminded, staring back at her laptop for any sign of payment notification.

A frown crawled onto Lucian's face. “I know that, I just want to use the restroom,” he replied, holding his patience.

“How do we know you are not going to run away,” Sally frowned.

Lucian was about to yell at her, then remembered if he was in her shoes he would also be suspicious.

“Sally, why don't you show our guest the restroom,” Mrs.Davis said, nodding at her employee. With a sigh, Sally stood up and led the way to the private staff restroom. 

When Lucian exited the office he was stunned to see the number of the mall security staff standing outside the office and from the looks they wore, he could tell they were there for him. 

“This way,” Sally turned to Lucian who was distracted behind her. He smiled at her and the entire Security department that was now escorting him.

“We will be outside,” Sally said when they approached the restroom and Lucian nodded his head, locking the door behind him. He turned on the tap allowing the rushing water to soundproof his conversation in case anyone was eavesdropping.

“Viri,” Lucian called. 

“Yes master,” Viri replied in her regular tone.

“Display hologram,” Lucian instructed.

The system hologram integrated from thin air, showing his state, mission, and current balance, which indicated Lucian needed nineteen-billion-nine-hundred-million dollars to purchase the mall since had a hundred million already. “Viri convert my remaining system points to dollars,” Lucian instructed.

“Are you sure master?” Viri asked.

“Yes,” Lucian replied, staring at his reflection with satisfaction.

“The transaction would require twenty minutes for the money to reflect on your physical account,” Viri informed.

“What! But I don't have much time,” Lucian replied. Spending twenty minutes in the restroom would make him seem more suspicious considering the group of men waiting for him behind the closed door.

“Sorry master it is the procedure of the system,” Viri replied and Lucian heaved a long sigh. The only way to buy himself such time was to remain in the restroom.

Meanwhile 

Mrs.Davis in her office immediately brought out her phone failing a number and after a few rings a male voice echoed from the other end.

“Give me everything you can find on Lucian Morningstar in the next five minutes,” she instructed.

“Yes ma'am,” the voice replied, ending the call.

Exactly five minutes later her phone rang and she answered. “I have sent it to your mail,” the voice said. Without saying anything Mrs.Davis ended the call and opened her laptop, scrolling through a series of Lucian photos taken from his social account, including posts of his colleagues making fun of him being dumped by his girlfriend.

“So he is a student,” Mrs.Davis said to herself. 

In the restroom;

After a long agonizing minute of waiting Viri's voice echoed. “Transaction successful,'' Viri informed. Lucian quickly checked his phone and truly there was a notification of ninety billion, nine hundred million dollars in his account. The account balance made Lucian giddy with excitement. He adjusted his clothes and made his way to the door. Lucian exited the restroom to meet the stern faces of the security men and Sally who ended her call the moment she saw him.

“Do you need anything else?” Sally asked with a subtle annoyance.

“No,” he replied calmly, making his way back to Mrs.Davis' office. A few seconds later they arrived at her office. Mrs.Davis who saw Lucian close her laptop surprised Lucian didn't run away and came back to her office.

“Sorry for that, can we continue?” Lucian asked. 

Mrs.Davis didn't say anything and just nodded her head. Sally sat next to Lucian with a frown pasted on her face. Lucian sensing the atmosphere quickly inputs the account number and confirms the details and after a few seconds, Lucian turns to Sally whose face turns pale at the notification on her screen.

“T…the payment was successful,” Sally raised her gaze to her boss.

“What?” Mrs.Davis muttered and Sally quickly stood, moving towards Mrs.Davis who also stared at the computer screen in shock. The information her investigator sent to her stated that Lucina was a poor student who was constantly bullied by the rich student in his university and now he was able to pay twenty billion dollars for a company, how is that possible? 

“How long will the handover take?” Lucian's eyes lingered from Mrs.Dave to Sally who was in charge of the company's details. 

“I…it will take a few minutes, sir,” Sally responded immediately, making Lucian scoff at the sudden change of tone. 

‘Well having money stops nonsense,’ Lucian muttered to himself. 

“Sally, prepare the document and meet me downstairs in ten minutes. I need to shop for some clothes,” Lucian said, staring at his current attire. When the lady didn't respond Lucian raised his gaze at her. 

Miss.Sally quickly overcomes her shock and shakes her head. “Y…yes sir,” she replied.

Mrs.Davis stood the moment Lucian was about to leave her office. “There will be no need for that Mrs.Davis,” Lucian halts her advance to escort him out of her office. “The Mall can operate as it is, the only thing that changed is the ownership, okay?” 

“Yes sir,” She replied and Lucian nodded his head, before exiting her office.

He headed for the elevator and the moment the elevator closed a soft humming sound sent him down. 

“Viri,” Lucian called. 

“Yes master, do you want me to display the hologram or announce the new state?” 

“Please announce,” Lucian replied, sliding his hands into his pocket.

“For completing your second mission, you have been awarded ten thousand system points, SRB, and a spending limit of thirty thousand system points,” Viri announced.

“Viri, what is SRB?” Lucian asked with furrowed brows as it was the first time he had heard such a thing.

“SRB stands for System Recommended Bonus. These bonuses are recommended by the system for the survival of the Host. When awarded with the SRB increases the physical skills which the host lacks or has zero knowledge about,” Viri explained. “Do you want to see the SRB?”

“Yes please,” Lucian replied with excitement. 

The hologram displayed a set of physical skills ranging from cooking, and diving, including skydiving,” Lucian's mouth watered at the variety of things and skills he could acquire.

“Which SRB did the system grant me?” Lucian asked excitedly like a child who had found a new toy.

“Basic Martial Art,” Viri replied, making Lucian's excitement drop. 

“Why basic Martial arts? Why not sky diving or not legendary driving skill?” 

“These sets of skills are irrelevant at the moment and the one required by the system is basic Martial art,” Viri replied.

Lucian frowns. “I already know the basic Martial Art,” he shifted his gaze to the percentage of his Martial art skills. “Zero! Why is it zero percent?”

“That's because your fighting skills are terrible,” Viri giggled, making Lucian's eyes widen in surprise.

“Did you just laugh at me?” 

“No mastered, you must be hearing things,” Viri replied.

Lucian heaves a long sigh. “Viri!”

“Yes, mastered,” 

“Activate the basic martial arts skills,” Lucian instructed. The system immediately clicks the SRB to increase the martial arts skill to ten percent. Lucian felt a surge of energy flowing through his body. The experience of basic Martial arts was registered in his brain. With that, the elevator to the lobby of the Universal Mall opened.

Lucian smiled when his eye caught the figure from a distance. He could see Henry directing other VIP customers to the VIP section.
