Karvel sat beside his mother’s bed, watching the gentle rise and fall of her chest. Her hands, frail yet warm, rested in her lap as she gazed out of the window, lost in thought.

The door creaked open, and a nurse in a crisp white uniform stepped inside, her shoes making soft squeaks against the polished floor. She wore a warm smile as she approached, her eyes shifting between Karvel and his mother.

“Good afternoon,” she greeted politely, dipping her head slightly. “Mr. Karvel, the doctor would like to see you.”

Karvel’s brows knitted in mild curiosity. “Alright,” he said, rising from his chair. He gave his mother a reassuring look and a faint smile before following the nurse. His footsteps echoed down the hallway, the muted beeping of distant machines and the hushed voices of other staff filling the air.

When he reached the doctor’s office, he knocked lightly on the wooden door before stepping inside. The room was softly lit, lined with shelves of neatly arranged medical files and fr

Chapter 47“Then maybe you should ask the person who sent you those photos to explain them to you,” Karvel said bitterly, his tone edged with frustration. His eyes burned with a mixture of anger and pain as he looked at her. “Since you don’t trust me, I guess you’ve already chosen to believe what you see.”Elena’s chest rose and fell rapidly, her voice shaking with fury. “Do you expect me not to believe what’s right in front of my eyes? These pictures don’t lie, Karvel!”Karvel stepped closer, his hands tightening into fists at his side, his voice firm but desperate. “No, Elena. You didn’t see anything with your own eyes you saw what someone wanted you to see. Those pictures are fake. They’re not real. They’re AI-generated images, doctored to look like me. I swear to you, this isn’t me with another woman!”Elena’s laugh was sharp, hollow. She picked up one of the photographs from the desk and waved it in front of him. “This isn’t you? This face, this body, this man who looks exactly l

Chapter 46Elena’s chest tightened as her eyes lingered on the message. The words pierced deeper than she expected, cutting through her composure. For a long moment, she couldn’t breathe. Her gaze shifted slowly to the scattered photos on her desk, each one a silent weapon pointed directly at her.If those images leaked to the board members, everything she had worked for could collapse overnight. She could already imagine the whispers, the questioning looks, the smug satisfaction of those waiting for her downfall. Not only would her reputation shatter, but her authority as a leader would be stripped away piece by piece.“No…” she muttered under her breath, shaking her head fiercely. “I won’t let this happen.”But even as she said it, doubt gnawed at her. The sender wasn’t bluffing—they had planned this carefully, sending the package, the photos, the perfectly timed messages. Whoever it was had studied her, knew her weaknesses, and knew exactly where to strike. Her hands trembled as sh

  • Chapter 45

Elena walked briskly down the hallway, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor, each step echoing her urgency. She didn’t even glance at the employees who politely greeted her as she passed; her mind was too clouded with anticipation. Reaching her secretary’s office, she pushed the door open.“Good day, ma’am,” the secretary greeted quickly, straightening in her seat.Elena gave a brief nod, her tone calm but firm. “Where’s the package?”The secretary, who had clearly been expecting the question, bent down and retrieved a neatly wrapped parcel from the drawer. She handed it over with both hands, almost as though it carried more weight than it seemed.“Thank you,” Elena muttered, her voice low, almost distracted. Her eyes lingered on the plain wrapping for a moment before she took it.Clutching the package tightly, Elena turned and walked swiftly toward her office. She shut the door behind her and dropped into her chair, her fingers brushing along the edges of the package

“You shouldn’t tell anyone about this story,” Elena warned, her voice trembling with restrained fury. She stepped closer to her sister, her eyes narrowing like daggers. “Don’t you dare ruin my marriage with the fake news you’re carrying around.”Liza tilted her head, unfazed, her lips curling into a mocking smile. “Fake news?” she echoed with a scoff. “You really think your husband is perfect, don’t you? That pathetic parasite doesn’t deserve the pedestal you’ve placed him on. Karvel only knows how to leech off powerful women. First he clung to you because of your background, your name, your money. Now…” She leaned forward, her voice sharp with venom. “…now he’s moving on to someone better than you. Smarter. Younger. Someone he actually wants.”The words pierced through Elena like a blade, but before she could stop herself, her anger erupted. She closed the distance in two swift steps, her hand swinging hard and landing across Liza’s cheek with a loud crack.“Don’t talk about my husba

Liza tilted her head, watching Elena with playful curiosity. “Outmatched? Oh, big sister, you always did like to bluff.” She sat back comfortably in the chair, crossing her arms with smug confidence. “But let’s not pretend you’re not tempted. You want to know what Morrison and Karvel are hiding, don’t you?”Elena’s lips pressed into a thin line, but her silence was answer enough.Liza chuckled softly. “I thought so. That stubborn glare of yours—it’s always betrayed you.” She leaned forward again, her tone sharper now, more deliberate. “So, do we have a deal? You give me whatever I ask for in the future, and in return, I’ll give you the truth you’re chasing so desperately.”Elena stood from her chair slowly, her eyes never leaving Liza’s. She walked around the desk until she was standing directly in front of her sister, the air between them thick with challenge.“You think you’ve trapped me,” Elena said, her voice low and controlled. “But let me remind you of something, Liza—I don’t ma

  • Chapter 42

Elena barged into her office, slamming the door shut behind her with more force than she intended. Her heels clicked furiously against the polished floor as she paced back and forth, her chest rising and falling with restrained anger. She ran a hand through her hair, her mind replaying the scene over and over again.“Karvel is always putting a wall between us,” she muttered under her breath, her voice sharp with frustration. “I know something important is going on between Morrison and him, but he refuses to tell me. He keeps too many secrets, and I’m tired of being shut out.”She paused by the window, staring at the skyline without really seeing it. Her hands curled into fists. “The Morrison I know can’t just hand Karvel a black card after everything he’s done for him not simply because he saved his child. No, this runs deeper. Much deeper. And I swear, I’ll get to the bottom of it.”As if the universe heard her vow, the door to her office suddenly swung open without warning. Elena wh
