Chapter 7
Adrian stood by the window, sipping his water as Drake adjusted his cufflinks with casual grace. "I've already called Dior," Drake said without looking up. "The regional manager himself will be expecting you. He'll personally assist you with your selection." "Is that necessary? Can't I just do that alone? By myself?" Adrian asked, frowning slightly. "You can't, Lord Adrian. Your father is one of the biggest sponsors of Dior Group, and they have to respect that." Adrian sighed. "Then I guess I don't need an entourage, right? No black cars, no bodyguards, just me." Drake raised a brow. "You sure?" "The quieter I stay, the more normal this feels." Drake chuckled. "As you wish, Lord Adrian. Trust me, your grandfather is not going to like this." "He’ll get used to it." --------------- The Dior flagship boutique was nestled inside one of the city’s elite shopping centers. Its grand glass doors shimmered under the morning sun, reflecting elegance and power. Adrian arrived in a regular taxi. He stepped out in a simple grey shirt and black jeans. No jewelry. No flashy watch. Just a man in simple attire. Inside the store, the staff was already on alert. Mr. Kwon, the regional manager, paced anxiously. Drake Williams had called personally. A very important guest was coming, VIP of the highest order. Possibly royalty. He had no idea how to prepare for someone of that magnitude. But when Adrian walked into the boutique, his unassuming appearance threw everything off. Adrian quietly approached Mr. Kwon, who stood at the entrance pacing. "Good day, sir. Are you the regional manager of this mall?" Mr. Kwon x-rayed him and frowned broadly. "Can't you read the sign on the wall? It says VIP only. Why are you on this side of the mall? We don’t sell knock-offs here. Try the shops down the road." Adrian frowned. Just yesterday, a receptionist had taken him for trash. Now again, another humiliation. He inhaled and exhaled, trying to suppress his rising anger. "Drake Williams called you with respect to someone coming over to the mall. I'm that person. Could you please give me a listening ear?" Mr. Kwon scoffed, then laughed in mockery. "You wish. Leave while I'm still being friendly. I don't want the elite VIP coming today to be stained with your presence." "Why are you so quick to look down on people just because they’re not dressed in expensive clothing? Not everyone wants to show who they are." "And not everyone is as delusional as you are," he fired back angrily. "Security!" As he shouted, two men dressed in black approached. "Sir, please excuse us," one of the sales assistants said to Adrian. "Why should I?" Adrian replied. Mr. Kwon stormed forward and slapped Adrian across the face. The scene drew attention, not pity, but ridicule. People stared in disbelief at how someone dared to disobey Mr. Kwon. Adrian held his face, now burning with anger. He picked up his custom-made phone, the one Drake had given him. The moment Mr. Kwon saw the golden emblem with the word ZHAO engraved on it, his expression shifted. "W-Wait… Is that real?" he stammered. He had worked in fashion long enough to recognize the Zhao family’s insignia. But Adrian didn’t look the part, he looked too ordinary to be one of from of the the most elite family in Asia “You had the guts to create a knock-off from the Zhao family’s emblem?!” he barked, charging toward Adrian to snatch the phone. Adrian shoved him away before he could reach it. He unlocked the phone and searched the contacts. Unsurprisingly, Drake's number was saved under DW. He dialed. "I need you in Dior in fifteen minutes," Adrian said in a commanding tone. Mr. Kwon shouted, "Security! Take this asshole out of here and teach him a lesson!" The bodyguards grabbed Adrian and dragged him out of the boutique. He struggled, but they were too strong. Outside, one of them slapped Adrian, sending him to the ground. Blood trickled from his lip. He tried to use his ability, he tried to focus and see their organs but pain and rage clouded his mind. Before he could react further, one of them kicked him hard, then grabbed a hockey stick nearby, raising it high. Suddenly..... Vuuuuuummm! A fleet of luxury cars screeched into the mall parking lot. Doors flew open. Men in tailored blue suits stepped out with deadly precision. Their expressions were cold and lethal. Drake emerged, and when he saw Adrian being beaten like a commoner, rage overtook him. With a simple wave of his hand, FWOOM! —the bodyguards were violently flung against the mall’s walls like rag dolls. Drake hadn’t even touched them, he just used his levitation abilities He ran to Adrian’s side, his face full of worry. "Are you okay, Lord Adrian?" Adrian's voice was low but firm. "He looked down on me. I want him to feel what I felt. Twice." Drake stood, his eyes burning red. He stormed into the boutique. "Evacuate this mall immediately!" Drake shouted. Inside, Mr. Kwon saw him and smiled, still oblivious. "Mr. Drake, I’ve been waiting. Has the elite arrived yet? Don’t worry about the asshole outside. I’ll have him punished for disrespecting this space..." Before he could complete his statement, Drake struck him hard across the face. "How dare you!" he growled. "W-What…?" Mr. Kwon stammered. Drake looked around and shouted, "Everyone out! No one is permitted to share a roof with Lord Adrian Zhao!" Mr. Kwon’s face went pale. He blinked. “Wait… L...Lord Adrian…?” Just then, Adrian walked in, blood still dripping from his nose. Mr. Kwon turned to Drake. “Is this the asshole that dared disobey you Mr Drake” Drake slapped him again.. This time, he used his powers. Mr. Kwon flew across the boutique and slammed into a display, coughing violently. Now, only Adrian, Drake, the bodyguards, and Mr. Kwon were in the store. "How dare you lay a hand on Lord Adrian Zhao," Drake hissed, pointing to Adrian Mr. Kwon's eyes widened in pure horror. He knew he was as good as dead... The man he had slapped and sent his men to beat up was from one of the richest family in the world He quickly scrambled up and knelt before Adrian, his face a mess of fear and shame. "I’m sorry! Mr. Adrian, please… I didn’t know! I deserve to die. Please forgive me." Adrian stared down, jaw clenched. "If I wasn’t a Zhao… you’d have beaten me to death. How easily you belittle people based on class and status." Mr. Kwon slapped himself. "You’re right! I’m worthless! Please… forgive me." Drake stepped forward. There was a storm in his eyes. This man humiliated Adrian. Touched him. Beat him. After all the pain he had endured already… no one would hurt him again, not on he's watch. "Castrate him," Drake ordered coldly. "And inform Dior’s board that the Zhao family will be withdrawing all sponsorship. Shut them down." One of the elite bodyguards nodded and dragged Mr. Kwon away. His screams echoed through the halls. Adrian flinched. “You didn’t have to go that far,” he said quietly. “Beating him would’ve been enough.” Drake looked at him and frowned slightly. “I would have killed him. No one touches a Zhao and lives to tell the story.” "And I would die a thousand times before I let anyone disgrace you again... They would pay with their blood, I promise that" He said in complete anger Adrian was inwardly afraid, Drake wasn't looking like a normal man His eyes were red, his vains showed and puffed out And his eyes were red, Adrian knew he was highly angry And for the first time in his life, he had someone to protect him and he had someone to trust... This wasn’t just about clothes. It was about respect. And respect was a luxury he had never known.” Yet he got it and more "Thank you" He said Drake smiled, his anger completely drifted away and was surrounded with wormth "Like I said Lord Adrian, I can be whatever you want me to be" ********** Meanwhile, on the opposite wing of the same mall, Ariel walked arm in arm with her fiancé. She flipped through a magazine and scoffed. "Look at this. Another article about unknown billionaires and tech heirs." Her fiancé laughed. "They act like it matters. A real man builds from scratch." Ariel smirked. "Unlike Adrian. That man couldn't even afford proper shoes when we were married." "A doctor with out class" Ariel fiance said, giving a mocking laugh They continued their mockery, completely unaware of the irony. Suddenly, a Dior staff approached them nervously. "I'm sorry, ma'am, sir. We'll have to ask you to evacuate this floor." Her fiancé frowned. "Why? Do you know who I am" "I apologize sir, a top-tier international client has entered our elite suite. For security reasons, we clear the premises." "I'm part of the shareholders of Dior, I deserve more respect" "My apologies sir, but the elite guest, has declared that the whole mall be evacuated" Ariel blinked. "Who?" The staff didn’t answer. They never did. Ariel sneered. "Probably some spoiled Saudi prince." They left, grumbling. As they walked away, Ariel muttered under her breath, "Whoever he is, he probably thinks he owns the world." She would never know how right she was.

You know how much I hate public gatherings... because of my condition.”“Valentina,” Madam Graciela said, her voice turning firm but loving, “you’re my only child. It’s time you step into the light.
