Chapter 5
The temperature in the elevator seemed to rise drastically. Adrian struggled to act normal, but something was off. He knew it wasn’t anxiety. Sure, he was curious about the person requesting to see him, but this intense heat surging through his body? It wasn’t natural. “Mr. Adrian, are you okay?” Madam Graciela asked, noticing how he was sweating profusely. He forced a smile. “Sure, I am.” But that was a lie. He wasn’t okay. He didn’t feel okay at all. His knees buckled slightly, and he staggered back. Madam Graciela instinctively held his arm to steady him. And almost immediately the elevator dinged open. Men in black suits were already waiting. They bowed the moment the doors slid apart. “Are you sure you're okay?” Madam Graciela asked again, more concerned now. Adrian subtly scanned his internal condition with his ability. Everything read normal, his organs, blood levels, temperature, all fine. So why did he feel like his strength was draining by the second? “Lead the way, Madam Graciela,” he said, still smiling weakly. “Don’t let me delay you.” They began walking through the Platinum floor. It was the highest and most private level of the hotel. The bodyguards followed closely behind. Adrian’s vision began to blur. He could barely stay on his feet, but he pushed forward, refusing to cause a scene. Until his body gave up completely. Everything went black. He collapsed. * * * Adrian slowly opened his eyes. His body felt weak, but he was conscious again. What had happened to him? The room was dimly lit. Heavy curtains blocked the daylight, casting shadows across the space. Struggling to sit up, Adrian reached for a glass of water on the side table and took a sip. Then... A voice broke the silence. Smooth. Calm. Deep. “It’s good to see you in person… Lord Adrian.” Adrian choked on his drink. Eyes wide, he stared into the dark corner of the room where the voice came from. A man dressed in a crisp blue suit stepped out of the shadows into the soft light. His expression carried a strange duality, a smile that was both calm and cold. Without a word, he moved to the couch across from Adrian and sat down, one leg crossing over the other like he owned the space. Adrian’s instincts flared. His hand reached for the flower pot beside the bed. With a burst of adrenaline, he stood up, raised the pot high over his head, ready to defend himself. But then… the impossible happened. The pot flew from his grip. It didn’t fall or break. It hovered in midair , as if gravity had paused, and then floated gently across the room, landing perfectly in the man’s open palm. Adrian's mouth parted in disbelief. He wasn’t hallucinating. He wasn’t dreaming. “You’re not dreaming, Lord Adrian,” the man said casually, placing the pot down on the nearby table. “What you saw is real. I’d advise you not to throw anything else.” Adrian collapsed back onto the bed, stunned, his body drained from confusion and shock. Could this man read his mind? He couldn't piece anything together “Who… who are you?” he asked, his voice low. He tried using his new ability , scanning the man’s body to understand who or what he was. But this time… it failed. He could only see the outer layer of flesh. No organs, no heartbeat, no vitals, just a wall. “You haven’t mastered your abilities yet,” the man said with a smirk. “That’s why you can’t see through me. Not yet.” Adrian’s eyes widened. How did this stranger know he was trying to scan him? How did he even know he had powers? His mind raced with questions, none of which made sense. “I’ll ask one more time,” Adrian said, more firmly now. “Who are you?” The man smiled, as if waiting for that exact question. “My name is Drake Williams,” he said with cool composure. Adrian froze. His eyes widened again, this time in recognition. “Wait… Drake Williams? As in the CEO of Diamond Group? One of the largest conglomerates in South Korea?” Drake tilted his head slightly. “So you do know me.” Adrian stared, still stunned. “You’re a global force, your company controls tech, energy, trade… even hospitals. What are you doing here?” Drake’s voice dropped into something more serious. “Because I’m not just the CEO of Diamond Group. I am your grandfather’s right-hand man” Adrian blinked. He couldn’t speak. His brain was trying to process too much, too fast. “Is this… some kind of joke?” he finally said. “I’m an orphan. I’ve never had a family.” “That’s only because you don’t know the truth yet,” Drake replied calmly. “Twenty years ago, several powerful underground clans conspired to destroy your parents and their empire. To protect you, they made the ultimate sacrifice.” “They placed you in an orphanage and registered your name in such a way that no matter where life took you… you would always carry the Zhao name.” “Your parents didn’t abandon you, Adrian. They died protecting you.” Drake’s voice softened for a brief moment, eyes clouded with painful memory. Adrian’s throat tightened. He had no idea how to respond. He didn’t want to believe it, but deep inside, something resonated. Still, he forced himself to speak. “And why should I believe any of this?” Drake leaned forward slowly, his eyes glinting. “Because you have no idea who you really are… Lord Adrian.” Adrian frowned. “No,” he snapped. “You don’t know who I am.” “I’m Adrian Zhao. A doctor no one respected. A man whose wife divorced him because she thought I was trash. I woke up from a coma with a freak ability that shouldn’t exist. That’s who I am.” For a brief moment, Drake said nothing. Then suddenly... He vanished. One second he was sitting on the couch. The next... WHOOSH! A sharp gust of wind blasted across Adrian’s face. Curtains fluttered. The water in the glass trembled violently. In the blink of an eye, Drake was right in front of him. Standing inches away from the bed. No footsteps. No blur. Just… terrifying speed. Adrian stumbled backward, nearly tripping. “Did you just, move like that? Like… like a vampire?” he breathed out, stunned. Drake didn’t answer the question. He didn’t need to. His voice was low, sharp, and unwavering. “That… is not who you are.” “You are Adrian Zhao… heir of the most powerful bloodline in all of Asia and beyond. Your family controls wealth, governments, economies. With one call, you can raise a nation—or bring it to its knees.” “You… are no ordinary man.”Latest Chapter
AN HEIR! FOR AN HEIR!
Chapter 14The Eugene Group headquarters was a place that exuded wealth and power.Inside the boardroom, a long mahogany table stretched across the center, its polished surface gleaming under the glow of a crystal chandelier.High-backed leather chairs surrounded it, filled with men and women whose faces were carved with unease. The walls were adorned with golden-framed portraits of ancestors, business awards, and towering shelves of rare books. The atmosphere was heavy, stifling, as though the air itself bent under the weight of expectation.Around the table, nervous ticks echoed through the silence, heels tapping against marble floors, pens clicking, murmurs whispered.“For months, Grandma has never called a family gathering. What could be wrong now?” Alex Eugene muttered to Ariel, who sat beside him, equally puzzled. Before she could respond, the double doors swung open with a slam. Men in black suits lined up at the entrance in perfect formation, their sharp presence demanding sil

Chapter 13Five SUVs entered into a tarmac road filled with towering trees and vibrant flowers, the air almost too still, as if nature itself bowed in silence. Adrian’s gaze followed the endless stretch of road until his eyes caught the massive structure rising ahead. The mansion was colossal, its high black gates adorned with intricate golden carvings of dragons and phoenixes, symbols of power and rebirth. Behind the gates, the estate sprawled like a kingdom of its own. The walls rose tall and intimidating, built from polished marble and obsidian stone, reflecting the faint light like a silent warning. As they approached, soldiers armed and uniformed surrounded the entire property, their formation flawless, their presence suffocating. The moment the gates opened, they moved in unison, lining up in two rows along the driveway. Their boots struck the ground in a thunderous rhythm before they raised their hands in salute. The line of saluting soldiers stretched like a wall of steel and

Chapter 12The Zhao airplane touched down smoothly at Diamond Airline, one of the prestigious subsidiaries of the Diamond Group, Drake’s empire. As soon as the wheels kissed the runway, an aisle was rolled to the entrance. Outside, a formation of men in sharp black suits stood waiting, their heads bowed in perfect unison even before the cabin doors opened.Five black SUVs were already lined up at the terminal, doors swung wide open, engines humming as if the vehicles themselves knew their masters were arriving. The airline had been completely cleared, no passengers, no staff, not even a whisper of civilian presence.Adrian descended the stairs slowly, his eyes wide with awe. What he had seen at Madam Graciela’s hotel had been impressive, but this… this was on an entirely different scale. The sheer power and control on display made his chest tighten.“Welcome, Young Master!” the men in black intoned, their voices booming in perfect synchronization.Drake appeared behind Adrian, his pre

Chapter 11Adrian smiled at Valentina as they swayed to the music. For days, his mind had been weighed down, his strange new abilities, the looming threat of his identity being exposed, and the bitter sting of his wife’s betrayal. He had forgotten what it felt like to breathe without the weight of the world pressing down on his chest. But now, for the first time in what felt like forever, he was genuinely happy. Not faking a smile. Not pretending for the sake of appearances. This… this was real. The guests clapped and smiled, their eyes following the pair as they moved gracefully under the spotlight. But then, just as it had happened at the hospital, everything shifted. The world around him dissolved into darkness. The warm glow of the chandeliers, the vibrant colors of the ballroom, all gone. In their place was a grotesque, unsettling vision: the inner workings of every person in the room laid bare before him. He could see their bones, their muscles, their organs. Their voices becam

Chapter 10Aaron dropped to his knees. In that moment, he didn’t care about his reputation or his expensive suit. Neither of those things mattered compared to what could happen if Mr. Zhao lost his temper. He knew exactly who he was dealing with. The Zhaos didn’t need to raise their voices to destroy someone. If the man in the black eye mask wanted, he could pull a gun right there, shoot him dead, and the room would stay silent. That was how untouchable the Zhaos were.“I’m such a fool, Mr. Zhao. Please… forgive my foolishness,” Aaron stammered, bowing low in fear.Valentina’s gaze shifted to Adrian, curiosity laced with a flicker of fear rose within her. She knew her mother was fortunate to have ties to the Zhao family, but she never imagined that Mr. Walker Zhao would allow the heir to walk into her party so casually. She has heard the stories, more like whispers, that the Zhaos were more than powerful businessmen; they were predators in suits. Chapter 9Drake clenched his fist as he pushed open the heavy door to the luxurious suite in the Vaughn mansion. His voice was sharp with anger.“Ariel and Lucian are not to be let off that easily.”Adrian walked towards him with a smile tugging at his lips. He moved over, placing a hand on Drake’s shoulder.“Let them enjoy their time while it lasts,” he said calmly. “I’ll make them pay when the time is right.”Drake’s lips curled into a cold smile. He knew Adrian wasn’t bluffing. The Zhao influence ran deep, across politics, business, and the underworld. No one escaped them, no matter how hard they tried.A knock echoed against the door. Without waiting for permission, a man in a black suit stepped in, bowing slightly before speaking.“This is what you requested, boss.” He handed over a sleek box, with the Zhao family emblem gleaming in gold across its lid.Drake accepted it with a knowing smirk. “A new suit, Lord Adrian. Custom-tailored by the very best.”Adrian raised an eyebrow. “
