The tension in the Sullivan estate had thinned… but only just.

Most of the family had already fallen in line. Leo Sullivan left quietly, announcing he would return to Taiqian City, unwilling to face what was clearly beyond him now.

Samuel, the once-dominant elder, said nothing.

Even the cold, scheming eyes of Samuel Sullivan—the architect of George’s downfall—were void of resistance. He remained still, seemingly accepting the final outcome.

Everything seemed settled.

Until Nathan Sullivan, still shaking from the death of his son Chad, stood up and barked his last desperate gamble.

Jack narrowed his gaze. “You're trying to sell off our legacy to strang

As the group made their way through the beautifully illuminated entrance of North Harbor Mountain resort, Julia Shaw suddenly stopped mid-stride, her eyes lighting up with calculated excitement as she spotted a familiar figure near the main pavilion."Oh my goodness!" Julia exclaimed with exaggerated delight. "Larry Johnson! What a wonderful surprise!"A tall, well-dressed man in his early thirties turned at the sound of his name, his expensive suit and confident bearing marking him as someone accustomed to wealth and privilege. Larry Johnson's face broke into a practiced smile as he approached their group."Julia Shaw," Larry said warmly, though his eyes were already scanning the group with obvious interest. "And the beautiful Sharon Shaw. What brings the Shaw sisters to North Harbor Mountain tonight?"Julia practically glowed with excitement at being acknowledged by someone of Larry's status. "We're celebrating Sharon's engagement! Larry, you must remember Sharon—we went to school t

Back in the mansion's study, Vincent Shaw's confident smile widened as he explained the full scope of his carefully orchestrated plan to his increasingly amazed brother."You see, Robert," Vincent continued, spreading out detailed maps across his mahogany desk, "today is the day Ryan Robinson makes his move against Mr. Sullivan. I've been coordinating with Robinson's forces for months."Robert stared at the maps in disbelief. "Vincent, you've been in contact with Ryan Robinson himself? How is that even possible?""Money opens many doors, brother," Vincent replied smugly. "And our shipping connections provided exactly the kind of discrete transportation Robinson needed to position his forces."Finally, someone appreciates the brilliance of my strategy, Vincent thought as he watched his brother's amazement grow."But why now?" Robert asked nervously. "Why tonight?""Because tonight, Mr. Sullivan is exactly where we need him to be," Vincent explained with obvious satisfaction. "Away from

The Audi A6 glided smoothly through North Harbor's evening traffic as Jack navigated the familiar streets toward the entertainment district. In the backseat, Samuel and Sharon were lost in their own world, their quiet laughter and whispered conversations creating an atmosphere of pure romantic bliss."I still can't believe this is really happening," Sharon murmured, her head resting on Samuel's shoulder. "Sometimes I feel like I'm dreaming.""If you are dreaming," Samuel replied softly, "then I never want to wake up."Their tender exchange was punctuated by Sharon's gentle giggle, the sound filling the car with warmth and happiness. At least someone's enjoying this evening, Jack thought as he glanced in the rearview mirror at the obviously smitten couple. In stark contrast to the backseat's romantic atmosphere, the front of the car felt like an arctic wasteland. Julia Shaw sat rigidly in the passenger seat, her body angled as far away from Jack as physically possible while still remai

She whirled around to face Jack Sullivan, her voice shaking with fury and humiliation."How dare you!" Julia snarled, pointing an accusatory finger at him. "You have no right to make such accusations about my family!"Jack glanced at her with mild disinterest, as if she were an annoying insect that had buzzed too close to his ear. "I don't make accusations, Miss Shaw. I simply observe patterns and draw logical conclusions.""Logical conclusions?" Julia's voice rose to a near-shriek. "You're spreading lies and rumors to destroy my reputation!"She's having a complete meltdown, Jack thought with amusement. Her entire scheme has collapsed, and now she's lashing out desperately.Jack turned away from Julia completely, addressing Sharon's parents instead. "Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, I apologize for the disruption. Perhaps we should move on to more pleasant topics."

We're delighted to finally meet the man who's made our daughter so happy."Margaret Shaw nodded in agreement, her eyes twinkling with maternal affection. "You should see how she lights up whenever she talks about you, Samuel. It's been years since we've seen her this excited about anyone."Her parents genuinely like him, Jack observed with relief. They see past his background to the man he's become."Thank you both for accepting me into your family," Samuel replied earnestly. "I promise I'll do everything in my power to make

As the Audi A6 cruised along the coastal highway toward North Harbor's exclusive residential district, Samuel Davis's earlier excitement began to mix with visible anxiety. His hands gripped the steering wheel tighter than necessary, and Jack could see the tension building in his friend's shoulders."Jack," Samuel said finally, breaking the comfortable silence they had been sharing. "I have to ask... are you really not worried about this Ryan Robinson situation?"Jack glanced over at his friend with mild amusement. "Should I be?""Everyone's saying he's some kind of legendary figure," Samuel continued, his voice carrying genuine concern. "A Pulse Realm Grandmaster who could level entire cities. That sounds pretty terrifying to me.""Samuel," Jack said gently, "how long have we known each other?""About three years now," Samuel replied immediately."And in those three years, have you ever seen me lose a fight? Or back down from a challenge? Or show fear when facing dangerous opponents?"
