Chapter eighty nine
Kael was immediately taken off the ground and carried into the kingdom. Everyone who had fought with the beast lay wasted at its feet. Jarvis, whose father had also rushed to fight the beast, was dead. His blood spilled on the soil of the arena. Their Hakana was released, but where did it all go? That was the question the king and the remaining elders have been trying to decipher for the last twenty minutes. "Where the hell did those Hakana fly to? Who has them?" One of the elders said, looking a bit tense. "Can we say that those Hakana disappeared into the thin air?" Commander Rael stood up without permission, his gaze darting back and forth as he looked at each elders. "Is that really what mattered?" He ran his hands through his hair. "What if that boy hasn't awakened his Hakana? What do you think is going to happen to us all? Can we say we can stop just one beast?" The question brought decorum into the hall. All the Swordmasters, the conjurers and even the mages were q

The ground shook violently, sending Kael back to the ground with a great thud.Commander Rael, who was now the king's guard, charged from within the crowd into the arena."Stay behind me!" he shouted, dragging Kael off the floor. All the swordmasters, mages, and conjurers all charged into the pit. Each having a frightening face on them."Do you know what that is?""I am scared!""Get your act together!" another Swordmaster shouted. The ground cracked, showing a sign of larva, and then a hideous beast emerged from the ground with a long sword in hand. Its roar was terrifying as many of the swordsmen rushed at it, but it was as if the demon had anticipated their moves. It charged fast, slicing through each and every one of them at once.Dareth got down into the pit; he rushed towards Zeuxis, who was at the point of death."Zeuxis!"He shouted, shaking him violently. But he was stunned from the severe beating and sword slash on his body.Dareth looked at him and shouted, "You need to get

The hush that fell over the arena was deafening. Every heartbeat seemed to echo louder than the storm, every breath held in anticipation. Zeuxis dragged his battered body across the drenched stones, fingers clawing toward the hilt of his fallen sword as though salvation waited at its steel edge. His pride, sharper than any blade, drove him forward.Kael’s back was turned, his shoulders heaving with the weight of restraint. The Hakana swirled more violently now, no longer calm, but restless—hungering. Sparks of light darted around him like agitated fireflies, whispering with a language no mortal was meant to hear. The crowd’s whispers rose into a crescendo of fear and awe.“Pick it up then,” Kael said, his voice low, broken between exhaustion and that unnatural distortion. “But remember… you chose this end.”Zeuxis’s hand finally grasped the hilt. His eyes blazed with desperation. With a guttural roar, he pulled the sword free, rising shakily to his feet. His knees wobbled, his chest

The rain fell hard as many of the spectators brought out Thier umbrella's to shield themselves. Some of them whispered that Kael had released the dam on water while others had their gaze fixed on what might probably happen next. King Almond's gaze moved slowly from Kael who was just standing without moving an inch. His Hakana that the all thought could not be summon swirl around him like a shield. " Do it." the king whispered silent, his hand clenched. Dareth whose gaze was now a bit sour couldn't phantom the thought of Zeuxis dying. He knew if he died that day then the kingdom was going to be passed down to Zeuxis king's brother who had a better claim to the throne than him. " Get up, Zeuxis! You can do this!" he shouted as the torrent of the rain poured harder. Jarvis who had initially thought Zeuxis was going to win felt it was a waste of time coming to watch the fight. " He won't get away with this." he said wit vermin, his hand etched at the tip of his blade. " Are you nut?"

The roar of the spectators thunderd with the two fighters looking at each other. Zeuxis was tired and the thought of ending the fight quickly was everything he could think about. Kael was equally tired by then, Zeuxis was a good fighter. He needed a good blow, a weak spot to end this quickly. Kael’s breath rattled in his chest, ragged, broken, desperate. His sword trembled in his hand, not from fear but from the weight of the energy passing through his veins. His vision flickered between reality and crimson haze. The blood in the sand looked like oceans, and in the center of it stood Zeuxis.“DEATH!” King Almond’s voice cracked through the arena, feeding the frenzy of the crowd. The chant shifted again, the sound of thousands stomping their feet and crying out as one. “Kill! Kill! Kill!”Zeuxis’s grin returned, savage, blood staining his teeth. He pressed his palm against the cut across his chest, smearing the blood across his skin like war paint. “You finally drew my blood. But n

Kael's gaze met with Real's, He could see how pissed off he was Kael’s chest heaved, each breath felt tougher as his gaze locked with his opponent. His grip on the sword was loose, almost fragile, yet his eyes remained razor-sharp. The roar of the spectators was rather annoying. Kael could barely focus. The injury the assassin had inflicted on him was still painful. He felt sore and knew he had to end the fight in time. Zeuxis circled him like a predator testing its prey, blade gleaming with every turn.“Pathetic,” Zeuxis spat, dragging the edge of his weapon across the sand. Sparks hissed in the air as steel kissed stone. “You came back from death for this? To stand like a coward in front of your people? You should have stayed dead, dude." The crowd roared with laughter, echoing his taunt.Kael still didn’t move. His silence made the air heavier, his calm more unsettling than any counterattack.Up in the balcony, King Almond’s eyes narrowed. He leaned on his staff, lips curling
