The Bravery

[Town of Milliopo…..meanwhile, news about the infected has gotten to other part of the country including the Military, and decision was made be the military, in order to to contain whatever the disease was from spreading, military personnels, soldiers were deployed to infected cities to cleanse the infected and if a city was completely overrun, they will have no other option than to nuke the city…and for the case of the town of Milliopo, it wasn't ready for what is to come]

Booooom…Lucian woke up to the sound of explosion and gunshot….he quickly got up and woke others

"Get up….get up now".....Bella, Jacob and David bounced up immediately…

"What happen…are they coming"..David quickly responded.

"No, sshhhhhh" Lucian continued "can you hear that"

They heard sounds of helicopter hovering in the air, gunshots and explosions.

Bella replied "what is going on"......Jacob added " are we being rescued"

"I thinks so, we need to get out of this building now and get to them" Lucian addressed them.

"Are you sure that is a good plan" Bella asked.

"I think that is our only plan for now, the government must have heard of the outbreak and have send the military to get us to safely" Lucian continued

"Or they were sent here to exterminate all of us"...David added

"You can't say that" Lucian told David "we have to think positively and hope for the best…"...he continued "Remember the game"

David replied "yes"

"What happens if a city is overrun by the living dead" Lucian asked his friends

With shock and fear on their face…they replied "bombed"

"But they won't do that here right" Bella cluelessly asked Lucian

"I think they will, take a look around, look at the current situation of Milliopo, they can't contain this"

'oh my God …what about our parents, how do we contact them" Jacob asked in a trembling and shaking tone.

"Our only option now is to reach a protected area and hope they also make it there" Lucian replied

"Why is that our only option, we should go home and meet them" Bella who is almost at the midst of breaking down in tears added.

"Take a look around Bella .. Lucian continued..we can't just summon our self back home, we don't even know if we will make it to the people that will help us out of this talk more of going home, so please put yourself together and lets work together to survive this" 

"He is right you all, and the more we are here arguing, the more we put ourselves in danger,...so what are we to do"

Jacob asked Lucian

Lucian replied "we have to prepare ourself for what we are about to face outside this room, we have to gear up"

They all nodded and did what Lucian said…they got magazines and tape them around their arms and legs to avoid been bitten, they found a bag back and put their rationed food and gears inside of it and armed their self with the weapons they found.

"We are ready" said David , they all nodded and head to the door slowly.

"So what are we going to do about the infected right outside" frighten Bella asked

"We will do what we have to" lucian replied….

"I haven't killed anyone before" said David in fear…

."they are no longer humans, if given the chance ,they will kill you without any remorse or worst turn you to them" Lucian told David.

Lucian quietly unlock the door and said 'we go out on 3"

They all shakingly nodded in agreement and became more terrified…."1,,,2,,,,," they all looked at each other and took a deep breath "and 3….go".

They pushed open the door, rushed out of the room and saw the infected at the end of the passage were they came down from the hatch, they charged at the infected as they rammed it to the wall, Lucian used his arm covered in magazine, held it against its neck as others hold it to the wall, the infected kept pushing itself towards them gnawing its teeth at them, Lucian took the knife he was holding and kept stabbing the infected at its stomach but that didn't disturb the infected from still pushing itself towards them trying to bite them, Lucian loss grip of its neck, the infected broke free and charged at Lucian, out of nowhere, David quickly took his knife and embedded it into the infected's head, immediately the infected dropped to the ground.

Breathing heavily…"thank you" Lucian thanked David

"(Shaking terribly)....its nothing, i just thought the head should do the trick"...David replied

Lucian still catching his breath responded…"yea…the head it is"

While they were still organising themselves, the noise they made seems to draw another infected up the stair, and there it was charging at them, Jacob quickly took his base ball bat while also charging at the infected, getting close to it, he quickly evaded it after which he went for the leg of the infected with his baseball bat bringing the infected to the ground while Lucian rushed for the head with his knife.

"Okay, it seems going for the head does the trick…lets move quickly " said Lucian

They proceded to the stairs and quietly starts going down the stair, they encounter more of the infected as they go down each floor and tried as much as possible to sneak pass them and those that block their path they quietly took out since they just go for its head. They made it out of the building.

They were infected running towards the direction were the gunshots was heard,

"The infected will be distracted, we will use that opportunity to head to our destination" Lucian told the others.

"But wouldn't there be crawling with the infected" Bella asked 

"Yes it will " Lucian replied "but we will find a way"

They continued moving to where they hope is there extraction point despite the dangers that lies ahead because their very life depends on it.
