Emilia's smile returned, but it was sharp and cutting. "Oh, that's another little surprise we have for you, Keith. Laurent isn't at the hospital."

Keith frowned. "What do you mean?"

"He's here," Edward said smugly. "Right here in the mansion. We had him transferred yesterday."

"The transfusion is going to happen right here, in our home," Emilia added with obvious satisfaction. "Isn't that convenient?"

Keith felt a cold chill run down his spine. Linda was monitoring the hospital, waiting for his signal. If the transfusion was happening here instead...

"Is there a problem?" Edward asked, noticing Keith's hesitation.

Keith forced his expression to remain neutral. "No problem. I just assumed we'd be at the hospital."

"Well, you assumed wrong," Emilia said curtly. "This is our house, our rules, our terms. Don't like it? There's the door."

Keith knew he couldn't back out now. The plan was already in motion, and he'd taken Linda's potion. "It's fine. Let's just do this."

Linda's blood ran cold. They had been surveilling her, probably for hours. She turned and ran toward the front entrance, but the second man was already there, blocking her escape route."Let me go!" Linda screamed, trying to push past him. "You have no right to be in my house!"The man grabbed her arms roughly, his grip like iron. "We're not here to hurt you, lady. We just need you to come with us quietly.""Like hell I will!" Linda fought back with everything she had, kicking and scratching at her attackers. But they were both significantly larger and stronger than her, and they quickly overpowered her struggles."Stop fighting," the first man growled, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "This will be easier for everyone if you cooperate.""Let me go, you bastards!" Linda screamed at the top of her lungs, hoping the neighbors might hear and call for help. The men half-carried, half-dragged her toward the broken back door, ignoring her kicks and curses. Linda managed to grab ont

Outside Keith's villa, two men in dark clothing crouched behind a parked van, their eyes fixed on the house's illuminated windows. They had been watching for over an hour, studying Linda's movements and waiting for Sean's signal to move in.Inside the villa, Linda paced nervously around the living room, checking her phone every few minutes for any word from Keith. The silence was driving her crazy, and her imagination kept conjuring up worst-case scenarios about what might have happened to him."He should have called by now," she muttered to herself, staring at Keith's contact number on her phone. "Something's wrong. I can feel it."Linda had always trusted her instincts, and right now they were screaming that Keith was in serious danger. She couldn't just sit around waiting any longer - she needed to take action.Scrolling through her contacts, Linda found the number Keith had given her for emergencies. Colonel Martinez had been Keith's military contact, someone who could mobilize re

Keith knelt beside the sick child, his heart heavy as he took in the full scope of the human suffering around him.The converted room reeked of illness and despair, with makeshift beds scattered across the floor housing victims of Sean's illegal operation. The woman who had saved him from the confrontation stood nearby, her voice filled with bitter regret. "They found most of us living on the streets. Homeless people, runaways, anyone who wouldn't be missed if something went wrong.""How did they convince you to come here?" Keith asked, helping an elderly man sit up on his cot."They promised us everything," she replied sadly. "Free medical treatment for whatever was making us sick. Food, shelter, a warm place to sleep. They said they were running a charity clinic for people who couldn't afford hospital care."Keith's jaw tightened with rage. "And you believed them?""What choice did we have?" a middle-aged man called out weakly from his corner bed. "The hospitals won't even look at u

Keith stood in the hallway, his mind racing as he tried to figure out how to save the other victims without revealing his supernatural abilities. The woman he had just cured was sitting up on the makeshift operating table, looking healthier by the minute, while Sean's group of fake doctors stared at her recovery with a mixture of shock and growing panic.Jeremy was the first to break the stunned silence, his voice dripping with wounded pride. "You think you're so smart, don't you, Keith? One lucky guess doesn't make you a real doctor!""Lucky guess?" Keith repeated, his voice calm but dangerous. "Is that what you call proper diagnosis?""Anyone could have figured out she needed electrolytes," another fake doctor sneered. "It was obvious to all of us."Keith looked at them with disgust. "If it was so obvious, why were you about to inject her with a cardiac stimulant that would have killed her?""We were treating multiple symptoms!" Sean protested, stepping forward aggressively. "Unlike

Keith stood in the center of Sean's living room, surrounded by hostile fake doctors and facing a dying woman who desperately needed real medical help. The weight of the situation pressed down on him as he realized that leaving now would mean abandoning not just this woman, but potentially other victims of this illegal operation.Sean clutched Keith's phone tightly, his knuckles white with anger. "You're not calling anyone, and you're not interfering with our work any further!""Your work?" Keith asked with disgust. "You mean your experiments on desperate people?"The dying woman on the makeshift operating table let out a weak gasp, her breathing becoming even more labored. One of the fake doctors approached her with a syringe filled with an unknown substance.Keith's eyes widened as he recognized the telltale signs of what was in that syringe - a powerful stimulant that would likely cause cardiac arrest in someone as weak as this woman."Wait!" Keith shouted, but the doctor ignored hi
