Ayla stood in the dimly lit room, her mind swirling with the chaos of the past hour. Victor Vale’s words echoed in her head, over and over. Allies. She had always prided herself on being a lone wolf, navigating the shadows of the world on her own terms. But now, the game had changed. The Raven Protocol wasn’t just a criminal network—it was a global system of control, woven into every facet of power, from governments to corporations. And if she was going to tear it down, she would need more than just a gun and vengeance.

Keene’s voice sliced through the tension. “You’re wasting your time, Ayla. This is the last chance I’ll give you. Walk away while you still can.”

Victor’s gaze remained fixed on her, unwavering, almost as if he were silently challenging her to take the next step. Ayla’s pulse quickened, but she didn’t let her emotions cloud her judgment. The truth was undeniable: she couldn’t do this alone.

“Keene,” she said, her voice calm but edged with determination, “I’m not going anywhere.”

Keene’s eyes flickered with irritation, but he held his ground. “You think you’re the first one to challenge us? That you’re somehow special?” He took a step forward, his shadow growing long across the room. “The Raven Protocol doesn’t care about individuals. It’s bigger than you, bigger than your father, bigger than all of us. And when you’re gone, it will keep moving, unaffected.”

Ayla met his gaze, unflinching. “That’s where you’re wrong. I’m not just one person. I’m the one who’s going to bring it all down. Piece by piece.”

Keene’s lips twisted into a sneer. “We’ll see about that.”

He turned, signaling to someone outside the door. Ayla tensed, ready for whatever was coming next. She didn’t have the luxury of waiting around. Victor, sensing her readiness, spoke up.

“You’re not in a position to fight Keene right now,” he said quietly, his eyes sharp with intent. “But you could be.”

Ayla didn’t respond immediately. She was still processing the implications of what Victor had said earlier. Allies. She had always trusted herself and her instincts—she had been forced to. But now, as much as she hated the thought, she couldn’t deny that the Raven Protocol was bigger than one person. Her mind drifted to the name he had mentioned: allies. Was there anyone she could trust?

“I’m not making deals with you, Victor,” Ayla said firmly, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside. “I’ll bring Keene down on my own terms.”

Victor stepped closer, lowering his voice. “That’s the thing, Ayla. You don’t have to work with me, but you can work with them.”

Ayla’s eyes narrowed as she studied him. “Who are ‘they’?”

Victor’s lips curled into a subtle smile. “A group with the same goal as you. People who’ve been trying to bring down the Raven Protocol for years. People who’ve lost everything—just like you. And unlike you, they know how to fight the Protocol on its own turf.”

The words hung in the air. Could she trust him? Could she trust anyone in this shadowy world? But a part of her knew the truth. If she wanted to survive, if she wanted to win, she couldn’t keep fighting alone. Not anymore.

“I’ll think about it,” she said, her voice cold but thoughtful. “But I’m not making any promises.”

Victor’s smile deepened. “That’s all I ask.”

Suddenly, the door opened, and a man stepped into the room—a tall figure, dressed in tactical gear. His face was obscured by a mask, but the coldness in his eyes was unmistakable. He wasn’t here to talk. He was here to deliver a message.

“Keene says you’re needed,” the man said, his voice rough, devoid of emotion. “It’s time.”

Victor nodded, his expression unreadable. “Go,” he said to Ayla, his voice low. “You have a choice to make. The next few hours will define everything.”

Ayla hesitated for a moment, but she knew what she had to do. She couldn’t afford to waste any more time. The Raven Protocol wasn’t going to wait for her to catch up.

She turned to the man. “Lead the way.”


Hours later…

The underground facility smelled of rust and old concrete. Ayla’s boots echoed through the long hallways as she followed the masked operative. Her mind was a whirlwind of questions and doubts. Where was this leading? Who could she trust? What did Victor really mean when he said “they” could help her?

The man stopped abruptly in front of a steel door, turning to her with a curt nod. “This is it.”

Ayla stood still for a moment, her gaze locked on the door. She could feel the weight of the decision pressing on her chest. She had always been a fighter. But now, the line between ally and enemy had blurred beyond recognition.

Without another word, the man punched in a code on a nearby panel, and the door slid open with a low hiss. The air inside the room was thick with tension, the kind of tension Ayla had learned to recognize over the years. It was the feeling of imminent danger.

Inside, she found herself face-to-face with a group of people. They were all dressed in black, standing around a large table cluttered with maps, dossiers, and electronic equipment. They were older than she had expected, grizzled veterans who looked as though they had seen things Ayla couldn’t even imagine.

The man who had led her inside stepped forward, addressing the group. “This is Agent Ayla Trent,” he said, his voice steady. “She’s here to join us.”

The room fell silent as the others studied Ayla, sizing her up. One of them—a woman with short, silver hair and sharp eyes—finally spoke.

“We know who you are, Agent Trent. And we know why you’re here. You’re not the first to come after the Raven Protocol. But you may be the last.”

Ayla swallowed hard, her stomach tightening. The gravity of the situation hit her all at once. These were the people who had been fighting the Raven Protocol from the inside. They had lost everything—just like her. And now, they were offering her a chance to join their cause.

The silver-haired woman extended her hand. “We don’t trust easily, Ayla. But if you’re serious about bringing the Protocol down, then we’ll need to work together. No more secrets. No more lies.”

Ayla hesitated for a moment, but then, without thinking, she took the woman’s hand.

“I’m in,” she said, her voice steady.

And just like that, the final piece of the puzzle had clicked into place. She had found her allies. But now, the real fight began.
