Sasha cursed. “Why isn’t she answering?”. She removed her phone from her ears as she tried calling Becky’s number once more.
“We shouldn’t have come”. Bree says curtly. She was offended that Sasha’s father had dropped them at the museum for the ‘field trip’ and just few hours after he’d left, it started raining.
“Well now we are here so can you just shut it!”. Sasha says curtly. Just as she was about to loose hope, the call was picked. “Becky, what took you so long?!”
“I’m sorry but Becky isn’t around”. Came a rather soft voice that Sasha couldn’t recognize.
“Who is this?”. Sasha questioned, her curiousity getting the best of her.
Monica grumbled. “Who cares who the fuck she is just ask her where they are”
Sasha glared at Monica before resorting to do as she was told. “Where are you guys staying? We came for the field trip to and now we are stuck in the rain”.
“Oh”. Kira said over the receiver with a smile. “I can direct you to the motel we are currently in”.
“Thank you”. Sasha said with relief as she moved to where Kira directed her to with the girls following suite behind her, walking towards a dark forest.
“Are you sure they are in there?”. Monica questioned Sasha with a shaky voice.
“Do you think she’ll be lying?!” Sasha snarled back at Monica. “Whether you decide to trust her or not solely depends on you”
With that said, Sasha walked into the forest with an hesitant Monica and Bree. When it seemed that they’ve been walking for hours and still hadn’t seen any sign of life, Sasha halted in her tracks.
“You. Are you sure you are directing us to the right place?”. Sasha questioned over the phone but she got no reply. “Hello?”.
She brought out her phone away from her ears as she found out that there was no network. “F*ck!” She cursed.
“What is it?”. Bree questioned shivering out of her wits as she was drenched from her head to her toe.
“There’s no network”. Sasha said look all hopeless.
“As expected. What did you think as you were walking into a forest?”. Monica mumbled under her breath but the words were still clear enough for Sasha to hear.
And damn, she’d had enough Monica’s attitude!. Sasha walked towards her boiling in rage as she gripped her hair in her hands. “Look here, don’t you forget who I am when you speak the me, okay?”
Sasha angrily let go off her hair. “We needed to get out of the rain so I’d confided in that caller from earlier, did I do anything wrong?!”.
“Guys, I see someone”. Bree said calling out to their attention as she saw a figure pass by behind Sasha.
Sasha, who clearly didn’t believe her responded. “Isn’t that a lame excuse to get us to stop fighting? Who in their right mind would come to the forest when it’s raining heavily as fudge?”.
Monica started to tremble in fear as she saw the figure directly behind Sasha, it’s sharp talons were on either sides of her head ready to devour her as it stared down at her with a smirk.
Maybe she’s just seeing things. She thought. A flash of lightning struck high in the sky as Monica and Bree screamed, immediately taking off to where we God knows where.
“I wonder what is wrong with..” Sasha says turning around as she came face to face with it.
She opened her mouth ti scream but before any sound could come out of her mouth, it’s sharp, long, talons had buried itself deep into her eyeballs, squishing and squashing till it completely burst with trails of blood splattered all over the green leaves of the nearby tree and the ground.
Still running without looking back, Bree and Monica silently prayed that someone would find them. Due to the heavy rain, the ground had turned slippery as Monica has fallen down.
Bree stopped to turn and look at her, panting heavily. “Are you okay?”.
Monica groaned in pain but she still managed to nod her head. “Yes, I’m okay”. She extended her hands towards Bree. “Please come help me up”.
As Bree moved an inch to help Monica, she stilled, halting in her tracks as she saw that figure behind Monica.
Trembling in her stance, she slowly started to back away.
Feeling a course of betrayal run through her veins, Monica screamed out loud in frustration. “Hey! Help me. You and I both have to make it out alive, okay?”.
Bree shook her head slowly as tears started to roll down her cheeks. “I’m sorry”.
“For..”. Screams were all that came out of Monica’s mouth as she felt sharp talons pierce deep into her ankles, dragging her away.
Bree sobbed loudly as she tried to down Monica screams. She was filled with shock that she couldn’t move. She could only stand frozen in place.
When Monica’s screams were no longer heard, reality suddenly hit Bree that she had to leave now. By the time she turned around to run, she saw the figure Infront of her as she screamed, dropping to the ground and slowly backing away.
“Please, don’t kill me”. She begged rubbing her has together as hot tears rolled down her cheeks.
The figure approached her rhythmically which each step she took further away from it. “Why? Are you scared?”
Bree nodded her head. “Yes, I’m scared so please, let me go. I really want to leave”
“Then If you really wanted to leave…” The figure trailed it’s talon down the length of her cheek. “Then, you wouldn’t have admitted to the fact that you were scared”.
With that said, it’s talons sliced through her neck as her blood spilled out from it with a rush before her head fell out of her neck rolling down the slippery ground of the forest to join the tiny fragments of Sasha’s eyeballs, whom she had betrayed.

CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO
The urge to turn down Korn's invitation wad strong as I'd remembered Lord Nova's advise about Korn seeing me as a threat if he got to know about the power I wielded. But, I didn't have the boldness to do so. "The tale is bound to bore you, my king" "Trust me, Xagrel. This is a tale I'm well invested in no matter how boring it might appear to be" "If you say so, my king" A grin spreads across Korn's face."Then shall we?" I nod. Turning to face Xandos, I say. "Thank you for the clothes and for giving me a roof over my head. I'll be heading back with king Korn now" "Will you be back?" "I wil-" "He might not" Korn interjects. "I need my slave around me at all times if you get what I mean, Xandos" Xandos bows his head. "As you wish, my king. "There's nothing here" Xandos chuckles. "It seems like your sharp reflexes ended in the bedroom. You didn't notice it when you first walked in here last night so I assumed maybe it's because it was dark but that doesn't seem to be the case" Xandos points up at the ceiling. "Look up" Following his hand direction, I gaze up to see a well- rounded brown table suspended mid-air yet remains stable and secure. From where I stood, I couldn't see the top of the table but ethereal glowing moonlight hovered around it. The leg of the table was crafted to resemble curved wings with intricate carvings woven around it. The table almost seemed...alive. "Do you think you have what it takes to make it to the table top?" Xandos questions bringing me back to reality. I was determined to mak

CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE
"How did you do it?" The talking wall inquires in awe, staring at the now brightly lit room. "You didn't have any expectations of me, did you?" I shake my head. "Just like how I'd figured out a way to reach the magic book without lights, you should figure out how I'd managed to do this" Waving at the wall, I grinned wider. "See you around" Turning on the door knob, I stroll out of the door shaped shelf; re-entering the entrance of the book store. Still wearing the grin on my face, I walked over to the talking wall whom looked displeased. "I see you've outdone yourself" It commends. "You've proven me wrong" "You don't need to turn yourself into a stone" I assure. "I didn't intend to take on this challenge to get something out of it" "I know" It responds. We can read people's mind as well and so does magic" "People whom have pure desires and intentions just like you do tend to receive magic alot more faster than oth

Swallowing deep, I inquired. "Do you run this place?" "The store owner is out for some couple of days" The wall replies. "We don't know when she'll be back" "We?" The wall clears his throat, probably annoyed. "I take it that you are new then. What can I help you with?" "I'm looking for a book that can help me learn magic" There was silence before the wall lets out a deep hearty laughter. "Magic isn't just for anyone to learn, boy. If that were to be the case, I'd be a talking human not a talking wall" "You've come to the wrong place so see yourself out" The wall concludes. Anger coursed through
