When Elena finally stopped, Celia’s face was swollen and blotched, with streaks of blood coming out the corner of her mouth.

“Why? Why?” Celia asked breathlessly, trying to regain her bearings.

“You dare to ask why? Are you unaware of what you have done, you bitch!” Elena reached for

Celia’s hair again and slammed her head hard to the ground.

Blood gushed out immediately. A mixture of blood and wine dripped down Celia’s face.

The sight of Celia lying on the ground and unable to get up did not garner any sympathy from Elena; in fact, it seemed to excite her.

She raised her leg and stomped hard on Celia’s palm.

“Ah!” Celia could finally hold in no longer, and a shriek escaped her.

A piercing pain overtook her senses.

“You shameless tramp! You like flirting around with other men, don’t you? I’d like to see if you’d ever seduce my boyfriend again!” A crazed smile crept up on Elena’s face as she repeatedly stepped on Celia’s hand with her stilettos.

  • Candid declaration

“Go ahead and curse me as much as you want.” Jane sneered and turned around to look at the masked men below the stage. “Everyone, I’m sure you have heard of how pretty the daughter of the Smith family is. Her face is disfigured now, but her body is still flawless. Does anyone here want to take her back to be your servant?” “Me!” “No, me!” “Damn it! She’s mine! Don’t you try to fight for her with me!” Overwhelmed by excitement, the men began to fight over Victoria.“Well, since so many of you are interested, whoever pays the highest price will have the opportunity to have her as your servant.” Jane offered with a smile. “I’ll go first! One million dollars!” A man with a fox-face mask raised his hand. “One million only? I’m giving five million!” said another man who had a cow-face mask on. “Eight million dollars from me!” “Ten million!” The men shouted one after another, and the price kept getting higher and higher. They were all from wealthy families. What they lacked wasn’t m

  • Crossing the line

After hearing Victoria's question, Jane grinned as she remarked. “Get down on your knees if you want to know the answer.”“Are you joking?” Victoria furrowed her brows. “I thought you cared a lot about your father, but now it seems like I’m wrong.” Jane sneered. “Will you tell me the truth if I fall to my knees?” “It’s not your place to negotiate with me. If you don’t want your father to die in prison, do as I say!” Jane shouted. After hesitating for a while, Victoria finally knelt on the floor. She knew Jane was humiliating her on purpose. However, for the sake of her father, Victoria had no choice but to swallow her pride. “What a good daughter!” Jane curled the corners of her lips into a nasty smirk. “Now, take off your clothes.” “What?” Victoria knitted her brows. “I said, take off your clothes!” Jane loudly repeated.“Don’t you go overboard!” Victoria’s expression was cold. How could she possibly remove her clothes in public? That was extremely humiliating for her! “So w

  • Confirming suspicions

“The Storm family?” William raised his brow. “Where is the evidence? How am I supposed to know that you’re not lying?” This woman in front of him was too unpredictable so he needed to be certain so as not to fall for her scheme. “What’s the point of lying to you?” Madam Felicia rolled her eyes. “Do you even need a reason to tell a lie?” William’s expression was frosty. “You know me well!” She chuckled. “But I’m telling the truth this time, and I even have the murderer’s location with me.” “Where?” “A hidden safe house.” With a flick of her wrist, a piece of paper fell on the table. “Here’s the address.” William took a look at it. “Is this the real address?” “You have my word. However, I can only guarantee you that the murderer will be there for an hour. After that, the murderer will move to a different place,” Madam Felicia said. William nodded his head, his expression relaxing as he lowered his guard slightly. Judging from Madam Felicia’s body language, she didn’t seem like

  • Spicy Pub

After making some calls, William made his way to Spicy Pub, one of the most popular lounges in the city, along with a few of Victoria's men. This was hardly his first time in Westbrook, and during his last stint in the city, he had made contact with a few eccentric fellows and the owner of Spicy Pub, whom he wished to see was one such individual.Since it was still daytime, the lounge was mostly empty with very few guests around.William swiftly made his way into the building and then casually chose a seat next to the window and enjoyed a drink while waiting for Madam Felicia to show up.Just then, several SUVS roared and pulled up outside the restaurant.Equipped with weapons, a group of masked men got out of the cars and rushed into the place fiercely. When the man in the lead saw William, he took several steps forward and jammed his machete into the table. “You’re William?”“You’ve been following me for half an hour. You can’t possibly still not know who I am, can you?” William hel

  • Coincidence or not?

With the damning evidence before them, there was no one in the Smith family that could deny Richards involvement in the death of the victim, including Richard himself.Dropping to his knees, Richard muttered. "What have I done?"“Dad, give us some time. I'm sure there's more to this case than meets the eyes,” Victoria said. She felt that something was amiss about the accusations.Right then, the commander uttered coldly. “Alright, I have no spare time to see how affectionate your father-daughter relationship is. Richard, you’ve committed murder, and the evidence is indisputable. Now you need to come with us to assist in our further investigation.”Then, the commander waved his hand. Two soldiers stepped up at once and cuffed Richard.“Dad, it’s easier to die than live. Take care of yourself. We will definitely save you!” Victoria was serious.Richard nodded, not saying anything more.“Take him away!” With that, the commander led the rest of his people and left the place.“Quick! Assem

“Tess, stop that nonsense!” Dennis berated his daughter. “Your Uncle Richard is a good man. He’ll never do anything like that. Someone must have framed him!”“You’ll never know what a man’s like behind closed doors. Who knows?” Tess coldly replied.“That’s enough! Are you going to add to the mess this family is already in?” Victoria finally chastised Tess.Tess merely sneered. “You shouldn’t be yelling at me. Start worrying about cleaning up your dad’s mess.”“You…” Victoria was on the verge of an outburst when Jon urgently ran in.“Ms. Smith, things are bad!... The soldiers out there have barged in!”“They barged in?” Victoria’s expression dropped. “Quick! Get the guards to stop them!”Before the truth prevailed, she would never allow them to arrest her dad.“Stop!” Suddenly. Richard yelled at Jon, “Let them in. No one shall stand in their way!”“Dad, what are you doing?” Victoria frowned.“The truth will speak for itself. I have nothing to fear if I didn’t commit the crime.” Richard
