Ignoring the looks of everyone outside, William used his spiritual energy to scan Katie's body thoroughly.
His intuition made him believe that what was afflicting Katie wasn't as simple as the others made it out to be. It didn't take long before he found what he was looking for, causing him to act without hesitation. He immediately picked up a scalpel and to the shock of everyone watching, made an incision on the young girl's wrist to draw blood. Then he placed a bowl underneath to collect it. “What is he doing?” Victoria asked in confusion. She expected William to begin some complicated surgery but all he had done was to make an incision. Damian was also quite confused as he replied. “I don't know.” “Haha, at least everyone can see now that the great and mighty LifeGiver isn't as smart as you think he is. Instead of him to start the operation, he is collecting blood. It's clear that he has no intention of saving the young girl and only wants to kill her faster.” Vincent said. Victoria didn't want to agree with Vincent, but given the current situation, did she have much of a choice? Pushing the door open, she rushed into the room and asked William directly. “What are you doing to my sister?... Why aren't you operating on her?” “Because there's no need.” William calmly said before glancing at Damian. “You should have kept her outside.” “Forget that. What do you mean by there's no need?” Victoria questioned, showing no signs of leaving until she had answers. William explained. “Your sister is in her current state because she's been poisoned. The reason Damian and Vincent ended up worsening her condition is because their actions allowed the poison to move faster through her bloodstream.” “Poison?” Damian frowned while Vincent immediately scolded William. “Are you trying to say that we don't know when a patient has been poisoned?... This young girl is experiencing organ failure.” “As a result of the poison.” William pointed out. Vincent snorted. “We already tested that and there was no poison. Instead of trying to explain your stupid decisions, it's best to accept your blunder now.” Just as Vincent was about to say more, the red liquid trickling down Katie's arm slowly turned black causing him to pause. Naturally, the others also saw this as well. “This…” Victoria didn't know what to say as she stared at the black blood flowing out of her sister's body. At this juncture, William asked Vincent in a condescending tone. “Tell me, doctor, what does black blood in a patient signify?” “Well, that…” “Answer the question,” William said, leaving Vincent no means to escape. “... That the patient has been poisoned.” Vincent finally said, his face flushed with embarrassment. “At least you aren't completely dumb.” Vincent couldn't even respond as Damian remarked. “Even if the girl has been poisoned, your method of taking out the poison still ours her at risk of dying due to excessive blood loss.” “Don't worry, I already considered that. Which is why…” William glanced at Victoria who was staring at him in a daze. “Would you be willing to donate some of your blood?” Victoria nodded only for Damian to speak up. “Are you crazy?... Do you want to transfuse blood into the patient while letting out blood?... Apart from the fact that the patient's blood pressure would raise her blood pressure to a dangerously high level, have you considered that the poison that is still in her body would contaminate the new blood?” “That's right. You might have figured out that she was poisoned but that doesn't mean your way of treatment is correct.” Vincent said only for William to pointedly address him. “If real doctors are speaking, you should remain silent. Your opinion is neither useful nor required.” “Why, you…” “Vincent, shut your mouth!” Damian scolded before turning his attention back to William who remarked. “Your worries are not without basis but this is the only way to save Katie's life.” Damian wished to argue but he knew that William was right, so he turned to Victoria as the final decision was up to her. “Can my sister be saved?” Victoria asked. William nodded. “She can.” “Alright then, I'll trust you. Please, save her.” “I promise,” William replied. Having received the assurance she needed, Victoria was quickly changed into a patient's wear before laying down in a bed right next to Katie's own. She glanced at Katie with a maternal look in her eyes, her heart aching seeing her in such pain. “I'm ready,” Victoria said after a few seconds had passed with William replying. “Then I'll start the procedure.” Victoria was put under anaesthetic after which the blood transfusion began. Meanwhile, William sat between the two ladies and began to meditate. To the ordinary man, it seemed like he was sleeping but only he knew that he was currently utilizing his spiritual energy to prevent Victoria's blood from mixing with Katie's blood while actively pushing out the poison in the young lady's system. It was a complex process with multiple aspects but William didn't waver for even a moment as he knew that the slightest mistake would mean the end for both girls. “This won't work,” Vincent said at the side only to be silenced again by a stern glare from Damian. A few minutes later, Katie's pale complexion began to gain some color while the black blood being expelled began to reduce.

Avoiding a collision
“Bastard!”Even after Donald’s figure disappeared into the night, Victor’s chest was still heaving up and down vigorously. He was clearly still livid.“How on earth did I give birth to such a dimwit? What a great misfortune for my family!” Victor rattled on, his face full of disappointment about Donald.William wanted to comfort Victor, but he didn’t know how to start. After all, Donald was really foolish beyond William’s expectations, and he could fully imagine how frustrated Victor was now.He knew that Donald was prejudiced against him and would definitely try to find trouble with him.But he didn’t expect that Donald would actually barge into Victor’s residence and criticize him right in front of Victor.William didn’t know what to say about his behavior.“William, I’m really sorry. It’s my lack of proper discipline that resulted in my son saying such unpleasant things to you. Please don’t take it to heart!” Victor said to William apologetically.William shook his head. “It’s fine
Extreme prejudice
The bracelet was from the Emerald Garden, so it had to be extremely expensive. But since William could give it away, Victor didn’t bother about whether it was too expensive for William.William was not the kind who would puff himself up, and the friendship between the Lancasters and William was more than that. There was no need for Victor to dwell on such a trivial matter.Victor and William were sitting on the plain tree stump chairs and ate the sweet fruits while chatting and enjoying the night view harmoniously.Suddenly, there was knocking on the wooden door outside the idyllic residence.“Come in!” Victor said casually. The wooden door was opened with a creak, and Donald entered from outside.Victor subconsciously frowned upon seeing his son. “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be helping Cecilia with the party?”Donald didn’t say anything. Right from the beginning, he was staring at William, who was sitting beside Victor. When Donald saw that a significant portion of the fruit plat
Exchanging gifts
Victor said dotingly while looking at the back of his beautifully dressed granddaughter. After rinsing the basket of fruits under a tap, a servant placed them on a fruit tray, brought it over to the courtyard, and placed it on a stone table under a tree. This resting corner was decorated in an idyllic style, with a small stone table and three antique round tree stumps around it.Victor warmly asked William to sit down on a tree stump. “Quickly take a seat and try the fruits I planted myself. They are definitely better than what you can get elsewhere!”William smiled. “Thank you, Mr. Lancaster. I’m in for a treat today then.”At the same time, in the villa where Donald was…Donald had lost his temper just now from his failed attempts to convince Zayn and Richard to sever ties with William. He had even smashed his phone. He had to down several mouthfuls of tea to calm down.At this moment, the butler-like man who had previously invited William hurriedly came in from outside and reported
The ultimate bliss
After lashing out at Donald, Richard immediately hung up without giving Donald the chance to respond.Holding his phone tightly, Donald stood dumbfounded without reacting for a long time.Richard’s words were still ringing in his ears.As the only son of Victor, the head of the Lancaster family, it had been a long time since Donald had been reprimanded badly and had someone hang up on him.If it were someone else, Donald would have used the power of the Lancasters to kill them. But since he was facing Richard, the helmsman of the Smiths, who had recently risen in strength and was almost on par with the Lancasters, Donald had no choice but to bear with it.If this matter spread to his father’s ears, he would probably say that Richard had done a good job reprimanding him.He might even force him to apologize to Richard. Thus, he could only grit his teeth and tolerate it for now.But Richard’s attitude clearly showed that the Smiths would rather go to war with the Lancasters than sever t
An honored guest
Donald clearly stated his displeasure toward William. In his opinion, William managed to befriend the Khans entirely because he leveraged the power of the Lancasters. As long as he made it clear to the Khans what the Lancasters’ attitude toward William was, he believed that Zayn would draw a clear line with William immediately. He reckoned that Zayn would agree, especially since he had promised some benefits and extended an olive branch. Those wealthy families would eagerly agree immediately.“Mr. Lancaster, I’ve already told you that it’s impossible!” Zayn’s tone became cold and harsh, with extreme determination and some anger.“Regardless of what yours and the Lancasters’ attitude toward Mr. Belmont is, the Khans will never sever ties with Mr. Belmont!“Mr. Lancaster, if you called me today just to talk about this matter, then we don’t need to talk anymore. I still have something important to do, so I’ll hang up now. I’ll visit Mr. Lancaster Sr. another time.”With that, Zayn hung u
Making things clear to a fool
“Do you think I befriended the Khan family, the Smiths, and the others because of the Lancasters?” William suddenly asked.Donald frowned and asked rhetorically, “Isn’t it?”“It’s really true.” William raised his eyebrows and smiled faintly. “In that case, Mr. Lancaster, why don’t you call Mr. Khan and Mr. Smith to ask if they’re friends with me because of the Lancasters?!”He had a look of mockery on his face.He had long guessed it. Donald indeed thought that William had borrowed the Lancasters’ power to establish a relationship with the Khans and the Smiths. Just now, he even accused William of taking advantage of the Lancasters, which was simply hilarious.“Also, I hope that you won’t casually speculate on my intentions. I’m not interested in being your son-in-law, nor am I interested in the Lancasters’ assets. I only treat Cecilia as my younger sister.“As for my friendship with Mr. Lancaster Sr., this is a matter between us. You don’t seem to have any right to interfere, do you
