Ignoring the looks of everyone outside, William used his spiritual energy to scan Katie's body thoroughly.

His intuition made him believe that what was afflicting Katie wasn't as simple as the others made it out to be.

It didn't take long before he found what he was looking for, causing him to act without hesitation.

He immediately picked up a scalpel and to the shock of everyone watching, made an incision on the young girl's wrist to draw blood.

Then he placed a bowl underneath to collect it.

“What is he doing?” Victoria asked in confusion.

She expected William to begin some complicated surgery but all he had done was to make an incision.

Damian was also quite confused as he replied. “I don't know.”

“Haha, at least everyone can see now that the great and mighty LifeGiver isn't as smart as you think he is. Instead of him to start the operation, he is collecting blood. It's clear that he has no intention of saving the young girl and only wants to kill her faster.” Vincent said.

Victoria didn't want to agree with Vincent, but given the current situation, did she have much of a choice?

Pushing the door open, she rushed into the room and asked William directly. “What are you doing to my sister?... Why aren't you operating on her?”

“Because there's no need.” William calmly said before glancing at Damian. “You should have kept her outside.”

“Forget that. What do you mean by there's no need?” Victoria questioned, showing no signs of leaving until she had answers.

William explained. “Your sister is in her current state because she's been poisoned. The reason Damian and Vincent ended up worsening her condition is because their actions allowed the poison to move faster through her bloodstream.”

“Poison?” Damian frowned while Vincent immediately scolded William.

“Are you trying to say that we don't know when a patient has been poisoned?... This young girl is experiencing organ failure.”

“As a result of the poison.” William pointed out.

Vincent snorted. “We already tested that and there was no poison. Instead of trying to explain your stupid decisions, it's best to accept your blunder now.”

Just as Vincent was about to say more, the red liquid trickling down Katie's arm slowly turned black causing him to pause.

Naturally, the others also saw this as well.

“This…” Victoria didn't know what to say as she stared at the black blood flowing out of her sister's body.

At this juncture, William asked Vincent in a condescending tone. “Tell me, doctor, what does black blood in a patient signify?”

“Well, that…”

“Answer the question,” William said, leaving Vincent no means to escape.

“... That the patient has been poisoned.” Vincent finally said, his face flushed with embarrassment.

“At least you aren't completely dumb.”

Vincent couldn't even respond as Damian remarked. “Even if the girl has been poisoned, your method of taking out the poison still ours her at risk of dying due to excessive blood loss.”

“Don't worry, I already considered that. Which is why…” William glanced at Victoria who was staring at him in a daze. “Would you be willing to donate some of your blood?”

Victoria nodded only for Damian to speak up. “Are you crazy?... Do you want to transfuse blood into the patient while letting out blood?... Apart from the fact that the patient's blood pressure would raise her blood pressure to a dangerously high level, have you considered that the poison that is still in her body would contaminate the new blood?”

“That's right. You might have figured out that she was poisoned but that doesn't mean your way of treatment is correct.” Vincent said only for William to pointedly address him.

“If real doctors are speaking, you should remain silent. Your opinion is neither useful nor required.”

“Why, you…”

“Vincent, shut your mouth!” Damian scolded before turning his attention back to William who remarked.

“Your worries are not without basis but this is the only way to save Katie's life.”

Damian wished to argue but he knew that William was right, so he turned to Victoria as the final decision was up to her.

“Can my sister be saved?” Victoria asked.

William nodded. “She can.”

“Alright then, I'll trust you. Please, save her.”

“I promise,” William replied.

Having received the assurance she needed, Victoria was quickly changed into a patient's wear before laying down in a bed right next to Katie's own.

She glanced at Katie with a maternal look in her eyes, her heart aching seeing her in such pain.

“I'm ready,” Victoria said after a few seconds had passed with William replying.

“Then I'll start the procedure.”

Victoria was put under anaesthetic after which the blood transfusion began.

Meanwhile, William sat between the two ladies and began to meditate.

To the ordinary man, it seemed like he was sleeping but only he knew that he was currently utilizing his spiritual energy to prevent Victoria's blood from mixing with Katie's blood while actively pushing out the poison in the young lady's system.

It was a complex process with multiple aspects but William didn't waver for even a moment as he knew that the slightest mistake would mean the end for both girls.

“This won't work,” Vincent said at the side only to be silenced again by a stern glare from Damian.

A few minutes later, Katie's pale complexion began to gain some color while the black blood being expelled began to reduce.

I have a rather short temper with regards to finances.” “I'll let her know.” “Good.” Blackbeard remarked and was just about to get back to enjoying his easy victory when he saw someone appear from within his captain quarters. His heart palpitated strongly as he exclaimed. “Impossible!” Blackbeard had encountered many things in his days as a pirate but none as mind boggling as having sunk a ship along with its occupants only for those same occupants to appear on his ship without warning! The first question that came to his mind was how did they survive the boat sinking and the second was how had they gotten on his ship without his knowledg

They are in their rooms. I drugged them with enough medicine to knock an elephant out.”“Unfortunately, I don't think that was enough.” A voice suddenly said, causing Caleb to go wide eyed as he glanced back to find William and Zara awake, contrary to his beliefs that they were asleep.“How?”William snorted. “We aren't stupid and you must be foolish if you thought you were fooling anyone with your poor acting.”Caleb naturally felt offended as he la
