“Such a successful doctor would decide to become a kept man?” Victoria couldn't quite fathom why William would do such a thing.

She could only attribute to foolishness born out of love which caused her to feel pity for William.

If he had been smart, he would have continued in his career which would ensure that his future remained bright.

Unfortunately, there was no way he could get back the time he'd lost, and so Victoria felt he could only wallow in self-pity.

“Send me a picture of him.” Victoria instinctively said.

If she ever came across the fellow, she would try and see if he wished to have another go at being a doctor.

“Doing so now,” Tanya said.

A moment later, Victoria got the picture and she immediately froze as the person in the picture was quite familiar.

Just then, the emergency room door burst open with two nurses rushing out in a panic.

“Young Miss, there's a huge problem.”

Victoria immediately put her phone away as she inquired. “What's wrong?”

“It's your younger sister, Katie.” One of the nurses said. “She suddenly stopped breathing and her vitals signs are dangerously low. If something isn't done soon, she might die.”

“What!?” Victoria turned pale as she struggled to accept that her sister was on the brink of death.

Just then, Vincent rushed out, preparing to scold the nurses for rushing out the way they did only to freeze as he made eye contact with a livid Victoria.

“Young Miss…”

Victoria silenced him with a tight slap across the cheek, shocking everyone present.

“I thought you said you were the best!... You said you would make sure nothing happened to her!... So what is this I am hearing!... Tell me!”

“Young Miss, it's not as bad as these fools claim it to be. Everything is under control.” Vincent tried to explain only for Victoria to slap him again.

“Shut your mouth!... I knew you were a quack from the moment I laid eyes on you. How dare you put my sister in such a critical condition?”

Vincent felt humiliated as everyone watched Victoria scold him like a child.

Just then, Damian emerged in a bid to soothe Victoria's nerves. “Young Miss.”

“Don't you dare say anything to me!... Because of your lies, my sister is going to die, and I promise you that if that happens, I will not spare you and this quack. Do you understand me?”

“Young miss, please calm down.”

“Calm down?... Did you just say I should calm down?” Victoria glared at Damian causing him to swallow everything else he wished to say.

Just then, Raymond rushed over to whisper something in Damian's ear, causing the old deputy to light up as he glanced to the side, quickly laying eyes on William.

“Young Miss, everything isn't over yet. There's still someone that can save your sister.”

“And you expect me to believe you?” Victoria questioned.

Feeling like something bad was about to happen, Vincent tried to speak up. “Dad…”

“Shut your mouth!” Damian coldly remarked before addressing Victoria. “The person is a famed doctor at our institution. You can look up his title online. He is popularly known as the LifeGiver.”

“Dad, you can't do this.” Vincent protested. “He hasn't worked at our hospital for years. How sure are you that he is skilled enough to reverse the current situation?”

“If I hear you speak again, I will not hesitate to relieve you of your tongue, do you understand what I am saying?” Victoria warned, causing Vincent to back away in fright.

Then, she turned to Damian. “Where is this doctor you are talking about?”

“Well, he is right over…” Damian trailed off only to pause as he realized that William was gone.

“Where did he go?” He asked in confusion only for a nurse to exclaim.

“He's over there.”

Everyone turned towards where she was pointing just in time to discover a man in a surgeon's outfit rushing into the surgery room.

Instinctively, Victoria rushed toward the room along with Damian, Vincent, and Raymond.

William couldn't stand by and watch Katie die while Damian and Victoria continued to bicker like kids.

So the moment the nurse had announced that Katie's condition was critical, he immediately made his move, rushing over to the closet to change into appropriate clothing before rushing into the surgery room.

He could explain things later but there was no way he would sit by and watch Katie die, not when he could do something about it.

By the time Victoria and the others arrived at the surgery room door, William had already started the process, his demeanor calm and collected as he worked hard to save Katie's life.

Victoria couldn't even be mad as she instinctively felt like her sister was in safe hands.

“Who is that?” Victoria asked with Damian replying.

“That's the doctor I was talking about, Young Miss. As long as he has taken over, your sister is as good as cured.”

Vincent grew bitter hearing his father praise William in such a manner, further increasing his hatred towards the fellow.

What was so great about him that everyone couldn't stop praising him?... Did they think he was infallible?... Of course not!

He didn't even care about Katie's life as he only wished for William to fail so that everyone would realize that he wasn't as good as they claimed him to be.
