Chapter 42

Henry stared at the message like he had been glued to a spot.

“What’s that?” Jackson asked.

“Oh it’s nothing” Henry smiled. Jackson knew it was a lie. The journey home was a quiet one. Not even some radio music. The moment Jackson drove in, Henry didn’t even wait for him to park. He got out of the car and slammed the car door a little too hard. If he was in a better mood, he would have winced and apologized but he didn’t. He walked straight to his room. He was feeling cold and hot at the same time. He needed to shower.

The moment he got out of the bathroom, he knew he had been delaying this too long. He couldn’t wait any longer. He picked up his phone and called the number that had come with the message. It was unavailable. He called again and again and again. The result was the same. He slammed the phone on the wall and immediately a knock from outside his room. He stopped and listened. It was indeed his room.
