He lowered his head on the desk and he was met by Jennifer Bezos, his assistant.

"Aww, cheer up, Boss."

Dax gazed at the divorce papers, his eyes scraped every word. He recalled when Allora's father Martin Hills make him sign a prenup to prove his love for her. He cringed and signed his name on the divorce paper.

He never wanted to see her again.

"I don't want to see this woman around unless it's on the grounds of divorce."

He spoke.

She nodded taking the file out of his office.

He was not happy with the news that they were understaffed. He could not stop thinking about the loss.

He went to the gym to engage himself in some cardio exercises staring at the mirror. The gym was empty, Bryson had gone to take care of some security work.

He worked till he couldn't bring himself to do anything and sat back downing a bottle of water.

Dax went towards the balcony to watch the labourers down there weeding and clearing up the garden with patterns like an ancient Aztec pattern and a fountain at the centre. He decided it was best if he unwind to celebrate his freedom from his tyrannical wife and his in-laws.

He walked into a club and the women danced with their partners. One of them joined him.

Dax downed his bottle of scotch neat and he danced in their midst.

"Hello, you look so tense, do you need some company?"

He glanced at her body through blurry eyes. "No."

Her expression changed and she backed away.

She cried to her boyfriend who was built like a bouncer.

"So you're harrassing my girlfriend aye?"

"What are you talking about? She's the one harrassing me. I told her to leave me alone."

"Liar!" He swiped his arm and Daxton ducked. He hit the counter instead.

Dax stood up. "I didn't."

"So you're saying she isn't pretty enough for you huh?"

He backed away. The manager arrived.

"What's going on?"

"This man harrassed my girlfriend."

The manager glanced at Daxton recognising him. "We have cameras around here."

They watched her making advances towards him and him rejecting her curtly.

The man went red all over and glared at his girlfriend. "I'm done with you, bitch."

"Jake." She gazed at Jake and Dax conflicted and went after him.

Dax scoffed. He ignored the girls and went to his sports car. His phone was full of messages from Allora and an alert from the company.

Dax took action. He dressed up and went towards the building. They had many workers installed. He met with the accountants. "Limit the payment methods. Bank-to-bank."

They nodded and they took action quickly.

He fingered his cufflinks. He had to lessen the transaction fees. When that was over, he proceeded to sit back. He watched the figures (prices) on the houses increase to the max as houses were on demand.

"You still have a chance if you're willing to listen." Jennifer Bezos said to him.

His eyes popped and he turned grim. "Lay it on me."

Jennifer cleared her throat. "We could hire temporary contract employees until you're able to hire permanent and well trained workers."

He rubbed his chin. "You do have a point. That'll save me some time for sure."

Jennifer blinked. "Really? You like my ideas?"

"Don't get jumpy, just get to work." He waved and her expression turned.

"Yes sir." She was surprised that he was being open-minded.

Dax recalled the loan sharks, he was on to them too. He crossed his arms but first he intended to turn those bad reviews around.

He knew about the surrounding neighbourhood community. He placed a reservation at Vitaliy's. He had a business meeting with the manager at the restaurant. He could not wait to have a discussion with him.

He prepared himself and took a car.

Everyone who passed saw Dax riding a flashy car. He tossed the keys to the valet.

"Hey, it's you. You're that guy from construction." He said dumbfounded.

"Where's your boss?" He pursed his lips.

Dax went in. "Hello I have a reservation at table 1."

He entered the restaurant, he walked in with ease. The world seemed to be at a standstill now.

The manager reacted after Dax sent a message.

He was surprised to see the young man in a coat.

Dax took it off and sat down. "Hello Mr Vitaliy, I'm Dax Edmund. I'm the CEO of Haven Homestead. I'd like to speak to you about a potential business deal."

The manager quirked an eyebrow. "I'm all ears, Mr. Edmund. I'm curious to hear what you have to say. What kind of business deal are you interested in?"

"I think we could benefit from a mutually beneficial partnership. I know that you're a popular restaurant, and I'd like to offer you a prime location in our new development. We could help each other by bringing in more customers and increasing our revenue."

"That sounds like an interesting idea, Mr. Edmund. But I'm curious - what's in it for me? Why should I partner with you, instead of another developer?"

"I think we have a lot to offer each other."

Dax pushed up. "For one, we can offer you a prime location at a discounted rate. We can also provide you with exclusive access to our marketing and advertising services, which can help to increase your brand awareness and customer base. In addition, we can provide you with our expertise in customer service and hospitality, which can help to improve your business operations. What do you think?"

"This sounds very intriguing, Mr. Edmund. I'm definitely interested in discussing this further. Can we set up a meeting to discuss the details?"

"I would love to set up a meeting with you, and I'm available this week. How about we meet at your restaurant, so you can show me around and we can discuss the details over a meal?" He asked.

"That sounds perfect! I'd love to have you as a guest. Let's meet on Thursday afternoon. Does that work for you?"

"Thursday afternoon sounds great! I'll be there at 2:00 PM. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing this opportunity further."

"I'm looking forward to it as well."

Dax smiled, he was glad that he was getting some positive feedback about starting a collaboration. And he was persuasive. Things were starting to take a brighter turn.

"Now that we've wrapped this up, we can enjoy this meal."

Dax crossed his legs under and had a lunch with him.

He wrote a cheque, he took a break keeping tabs on the company. He touched his head. He needed to unwind.

"Hello."

"Miss Shannon O'Malley, this is Edmund. I hear that you give guitar lessons."

"Yes, you've come to the right person. I'm your girl. What time are you available to take lessons?"

"5 o'clock." He spoke. "I have a roster for everyday."

"Aye, 5 o'clock. I don't think that'd be necessary."

"You give guitar lessons and you don't understand the concepts of time management?"

Shannon squawked. "Of course I do. See you there."

Dax frowned impatiently. "Thank you for your time, miss O'Malley."

"You're welcome."

Dax lowered the phone and sighed. "That was difficult." He couldn't wait to start learning.

"Get me a guitar." He said and the errand boy nodded leaving.

He sighed. He couldn't get anything done just anticipating Allora's return. There had to be a way to solve this amicably.

There was a commotion outside.

But I'm committed to doing what's best for the company, and that means working with Seamus. I'm not going to pretend that everything is fine, but I'm willing to put the past behind us and focus on the future. I know that won't be easy, but I'm willing to try."Roger studied him for a moment, and then nodded. "I appreciate your honesty, Dax. It takes a lot of courage to admit that you're still struggling. But I admire your commitment to doing what's best for the company, even when it's difficult. That's the kind of leadership we need right now."Dax felt a sense of relief, knowing that he had gained some of Roger's trust back. But he knew there was still a long way to go. He decided to be open and honest from now on, no matter how difficult it was. It was the only way to move forward."Let's talk about the shares."Roger opened the meeting by laying out his of

I don't want anything from you. You've done enough damage."Seamus's smile faltered, and for a moment, his facade of calm composure slipped away. "I know I made mistakes, Dax. I've been trying to make things right. I just want to help."Dax scoffed. "Your help is tainted. You can't buy your way back into my good graces. You should know that by now."Seamus's face was pale, and he looked truly distraught. "You're right. I know I can't buy your forgiveness. But please don't shut me out completely. I'm not the same person I was before, and I want to prove that to you."Dax shook his head. "I'm done talking a

If you were worried, you should have talked to us instead of trying to destroy him."Shannon stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "Dad, I can't believe you did this.
