The docks were eerily silent as the Knights arrived, the only sounds the distant lapping of waves against the hulls of rusted cargo ships and the creak of old wood underfoot. The coordinates from the receipt had led them here to a maze of shipping containers and derelict vessels that stank of salt and diesel. Hadi signaled for the team to halt, his sharp eyes scanning the shadows.

"They know we're coming," he muttered.

Haitham adjusted his grip on his hammer, the weight familiar and reassuring. "Then we don't give them time to prepare."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the night erupted in gunfire. Muzzle flashes lit up the darkness as bullets tore through the air, forcing the Knights to scatter for cover.

"Trap!"Ali shouted, ducking behind a stack of crates as rounds splintered the wood above his head.

Marwan grinned, adrenaline surging through his veins. "About time things got interesting."

From the deck of the largest ship, a figure stepped into view, his arm

Malik was heading out because it was his turn today, and unfortunately for him, Marwan was bored and alone at the base. All the new recruits he used to torment were injured, so there was no one left for him to bully, train, or vent to. So, he tagged along with Malik and went out with him. The whole way, Malik was trying to focus, but Marwan kept begging him to buy him pizza. Malik told him no, asking, "Since when do you even like pizza? Your thing is meat and protein." Marwan replied that today, he suddenly craved pizza. Malik teased him, "Don’t you work at a bakery? Why can’t you ask the old man to make you one?" Marwan explained that he’d fought with the old man and quit the shop, so he had no money at all right now. Malik told him, "Find another job. Who’s stopping you?" Marwan said, "I can’t bring myself to leave Abo Sameera, it’d be a sin. He has no one else. No sons to help him, just young daughters. I’m waiting for him to reconcile with me because I’m always the one who apo

Hadi and Hazim arrive at headquarters after the meeting and found Ali and Laith waiting for them. Ali told them everything that happened. Hadi was shocked that they found him so quickly and says, "I didn’t imagine you’d bring him back this fast. Why did you even go after him again? Because of what happened with the others? Do you still think it was your fault?"Ali’s jaw tightened. "Sooner or later, we had to bring him in. He was involved in illegal operations, he needed to be held accountable." A shadow passed over his face. "And yes… in some way, he is responsible for what happened."Ali’s grip on his own arm tightened, his voice dropping."I know I'm to blame as well." He looked away, the guilt heavy in his words. "I was reckless. My curiosity, my damn impulsiveness, is what led me to bring the Golden armor in the first place. If I hadn’t…"Hazim cut in, frowning. "You can’t keep blaming yourself, Ali. The Professor’s the one who exploited the situation. He’s the one with blood on h

Ali stared at Professor Riyad, his fists clenched at his sides. His voice came out low and dangerous. "You expect me to believe any of this?" Ali shook his head in disgust. "None of it makes sense. Who gave you the right to risk my life? If you wanted to help humanity fight ghouls, why didn't you test the chip on yourself first? Why kidnap a child under the pretense of creating some 'perfect knight'?" Professor Riyad sat slumped in his chair, the ropes digging into his wrists. He met Ali's gaze without flinching. "You're right," he said quietly. "I knew this day would come. That you'd hold me accountable. I don't expect your forgiveness, Ali. But you demanded answers, and I've given them to you." Laith stepped forward, his expression grim. "Enough. That's it. We need to take him to headquarters to Hadi and Hazim. They'll deal with him." Ali exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "You're right. Go get the car ready. I'll be right out." Laith nodded and turne

Riyad exhaled, his bound wrists twisting against the ropes. "After they banned me from every research center and university," he said, voice hollow, "I left the country." Ali leaned against the concrete wall, arms crossed. His jaw tightened, but he remained silent. Laith stood near the stairs, a silent sentinel in the dim light. "I went to Egypt," Riyad continued. "An old colleague helped me establish a private research center, fully licensed, completely legal." A bitter smile twisted his lips. "At first." Ali's fingers dug into his own biceps. "Get to the point." The professor's gaze dropped. "It happened on a train." His voice grew distant. "We were crossing the Nile when the ghouls appeared. No warning. No defense." "The train was packed. People screamed. Some jumped into the river, onto the tracks. Most didn’t make it." His throat worked. "Then at the bridge, the train crashed... thousands died that day." Flashback: Professor Riyad gasped as consciousness returned t

Ali and Laith dragged Professor Riyad down the creaky wooden stairs. The old aunt, her wrinkled face twisted in suspicion, stood at the top, gripping the railing. "Who are these boys, Riyad?" she demanded, her voice sharp. Before the professor could answer, Ali flashed a grin, though his eyes remained cold. "We’re his old friends, Auntie. He promised to play with us in the global gaming championship FIBA football. But then he forgot all about us." He clapped a heavy hand on Riyad’s shoulder, making him flinch. The aunt narrowed her eyes. "This doesn’t sound right. Riyad, is this true?" The professor’s throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. Ali’s grip tightened subtly, a silent warning. "Y-Yes," Riyad stammered. "It’s true. I... I forgot. We were just joking around." The aunt wasn’t convinced, but before she could protest further, Laith stepped forward, his voice smooth but firm. "Don’t worry, we’ll remind him properly." With that, they pulled Riyad into the room and locked th

Ali called Laith and told him he would be there in ten minutes, so he should get ready. Without wasting time, Ali rushed out of his room, informed his father he was taking the car, grabbed the keys, and hurried out. He reached Laith and Hazim’s house quickly. Moments later, Laith came downstairs, whistled to get Ali’s attention, and then joined him in the car. “What’s the story? Where are we going?” Laith asked as he settled into the passenger seat. Ali gripped the steering wheel and replied, “It’s a long story. There’s someone from my past, back when I was young, and today, I finally found him. We’re going to catch him.” Laith raised an eyebrow. “Tell me more details so I can fully back you up and help you wholeheartedly. Otherwise, I’ll just go back to playing my soccer game on my phone.” Sighing, Ali realized he had no choice. He explained everything, his past, the experiments, the source of the unnatural strength and advanced gear. By the time he finished, Laith’s expressi
