6. Billionaire Heir

Chapter Six

“Yes, that’s you in the portrait when you were just a little baby Xander” came an old yet authoritative voice from behind which almost scared Xander because he didn’t hear any footsteps coming into the room and the floors were made of shiny marble tiles.

“Excuse me Sir?” Said Xander , turning around to face an old yet fit and strong looking man who is also tall and looks handsome even with his white grey hair and beards. The man was wearing only a simple white shirt and brown plain trousers which made Xander confused and a bit skeptical because everyone around seems to be wearing black suit or official business formal clothes.

“Don’t call me Sir, I’m Grandmaster Kings or President Kings but you can call me grandfather “ said the man calmly while his eyes kept looking at Xander as if he saw a ghost and he couldn’t believe it.

“With all due respect, I am an orphan Sir” said Xander ,everything is still confusing to him.

“I know it’s a lot to process and take it In especially after 18 years but I do hope you can remember some things with time. You’re Xander Kings, the only son and surviving heir to the KINGS EMPIRE '' said Grandmaster Kings before going to sit in his larger mahogany office chair that is covered with soft and expensive leather.

“I am still confused here …this is all so sudden. I’m confused and I wonder why I should believe all these. What if you have an ulterior motive ?” Said Xander honestly because it all seems too good ro be true. Imagine sleeping as a broke ass and waking up as an heir to an empire , which sounds like an expensive joke and prank.

“Good, I like that spirit. You will need to be. Wise , think smart and act sharp when you take over. The ring in your hands is an heirloom and your name is Xander Kings. I don’t even need the DNA confirmation, I knew you were the one I have been looking for. I can tell that you are my grandson from mere looking at your height and facial resemblance but here is a copy of the DNA test just in case you are still doubting. My detective got it from your hair when you were drunk at the bar and the result came in positive. That's why I sent secretary Kim to bring you home “ the Grandmaster Kings tried explaining.

Xander Kings moved forward and picked the the piece of paper containing the medical report of the DNA test and it truly matched almost a hundred percent that’s when the relisiation sank into Xanders head that he tripped and almost fell down out of shock.

“Please have a seat, you must be tired “ said Grandmaster Kings with a concerned tone. Xander nodded his head and sat in one of the chairs in the office , he needed to relax or he might truly faint out of joy and that would be embarrassing.

“Where are my parents and what happened to them ?” Asked Xander Kings getting curious all of a sudden

“Your parents died in a car accident during their 3 year wedding anniversary on a vacation and you went missing. I made my team to search for you and we couldn’t track you. I was so devastated and I lost hope in life but when the business started crumbling to pieces , I had to man up , be strong and get back on my feet in the hopes that I will find you someday and you will comeback to take over and continue the legacy as the heir ” explained the old man calmly, his voice was filled with emotions as he speak.

Xander felt bad listening to the old man speak, he is truly an orphan he thought but he was glad that at least he has a grandfather. Xander has so many questions to ask the old man but he decided to ask him one by one because no amount of hours in a day can cover 18 years of life time.

“Was my parents' accident planned or was it simply an accident?” Asked Xander out of the blue

“One step at a time Xander. You will soon know about everything when you become the official heir of the family business. I’m getting old and I don’t have enough time on earth again besides the Doctor kept telling me that I need to rest , you appearing in this very moment is a miracle” said Grandmaster Kings with a small smile and his face went back to its former serious looking state.

“Wow” was the only thing Xander Kings whispered as his head tried to wrap around the thrilling news. He was super happy and excited that he has found his real family , real identity and grandfather who seems really wealthy but Xander Kings has doubts.

“Grandfather, I don’t know anything about this kind of lifestyle. Is it possible for me to become successful overnight ? I don’t even know anything g about the family business” said Xander sounding really conflicted and confused

“Your school record is perfect, you are talented and smart. Secretary Kim will always be there to help you with the basics , she is an efficient staff and you can always call me when you’re confused about anything” Grandmaster Kings answered Xander.

“You also need to be ruthless before you succeed in this world of ours. People think that having a a lot of money will make life easy for you but there is so many sacrifices to make and there will always be enemies that’s why you can’t afford to be weak or let an enemy or a business rival know your weak point. Time and experience will teach you all these but I’m warning you beforehand because you will also need to avenge and take vengeance against some family feud , those who wronged us and those who think that they can dare to touch us in the near future“ said grandmaster Kings in a warning tone.

“Okay, thank you for believing in me. What business are we talking about ?” Asked Xander curiously

“We are mostly into Oil and Gas productions and we own 37% of the countries shares in this area. We also have real estate and commercial estate which includes hotels, shopping malls and clubs establishments in every state. Thirdly, the Keystone Kings Bank and Investment Cooperative belongs to the family …we have so many that only my account officers and lawyers can list them to you in due time ” Xander's father kept calling big companies casually that made Xanders ears pop up.

“We own a bank ?! An oil and gas station ?! “ shouted Xander, shocked that these big companies he only sees in business magazines and televisions really belong to his family.

“Oh, how the table turns” said Xander holding his head and crying into his palms. Thee news was too much for him to bare and it made him so emotional. He could not believe that he is going to be this wealthy but the news of his parents death was what saddens him the most.

“Hey young man, stop crying. Crying is for the weak and you have to be strong. I shouldn’t have said all these to you in just one day but time is not against us and we need to move fast and be ahead of our enemies' ' said grandmaster Kings standing up from his chair and coming to give Xander a warm and comforting warm hug which Xander gladly accepted.

After what seems like eternity. Both Xander and his father were done with their emotional family bonding moments and they were soon back to business talk.

“I need you to go back and finish your university degree so that no one will bully or use it as an excuse against you when you resume your position and start working as my successor. I will also give you 500 million dollars for a start. I want to see how you’re going to use and invest this money for your lifestyle and also use it to start a business that brings more profits and returns. You will become my billionaire heir when you pass this test successfully “ said Grandmaster Kings

“Five hundred million dollars? '' stammered Xander , the last money he held was the 20 dollars he gave out to the beggar by the river.

“Yes my grandson, the secretary will give you a black card that you can use with no limit” said Grandmaster Kings as if 500 million is a chicken change.

“That’s too much ….” Whispered Xander still in shock

“That’s nothing compared to how much profit our multi billionaire companies make in just an hour. You should learn to get used to the idea of being extremely wealthy. Secret’s Kim , a driver and two bodyguards will always be with you in school and everywhere you go. Are you okay with the arrangements ? “ asked the grandmaster

“Yes yes , I have heard everything you said grandfather . I’m happy to finally meet you after 18 years and I will also try my best to make you proud “ said Xander with determination, grinning ear to ear like an idiot, he has been so poor that he knows the importance and value of money so this means a lot to him.

*knock knock knock*

“Come in” answered the Grandmaster when they heard a knock at the door. Secretary Kim entered with a tray of tea and dropped it in front of the two men, bowed in respect and left. Grandmaster took the first sip before Xander took his cup and he immediately spit it out when he heard the question his grandfather asked him.

“Do you have a wife ?”

“No grandfather, I’m really young!” Said Xander blushing with embarrassment

“What about a girlfriend and who is she? Who are her parents and what do they do?” Questioned the grandmaster enthusiastically

“No girlfriend too” said Xander softly feeling ashamed

“How come a handsome and young man like you has no girlfriend?” Xander’s grandfather sounds doubtful

“It’s a long story “ whispered Xander as the flashbacks of the embarrassment and humiliation he faced when he asked Karen out came to his mind. He couldn’t help it but wonder if Karen will come back to him when she finds out about his true identity.

“I’m very sure you’re potent and sexually active. So do you have a child?” It seems like Xander’s grandfather is not giving up anything soon

“I’m really young and I’m waiting to find a girl that we both love each other,someone who is smart and supportive.

“No, you’re not too young, in-fact you’re at a perfect age. Being a son Inlaw to a prominent family will bring more business connections to the family empire. I will have no choice but to start organizing blind dates with eligible ladies for you“ said grandmaster Kings sounding serious

“But how did you find me now after all those years ?” Asked Xander intentionally trying to divert the present topic of discussion

“You called 911 about some kind of emergency and that’s when my detective picked up your name ,traced you and we immediately carried out the test DNA test”

“Okay, thank you but one last request, “ said Xander.

“Anything for my grandson . Do you have a house,cars ,jet or a yarth? Anything ? Just name it and it will be yours “ said grandmaster Kings after sipping his black tea.

“ Can you please take me to father and mother’s grave , I will like to meet them and pay my respect “ asked Xander

“Of course, I will personally take you there,” said Grandmaster Kings, standing up from his chair and signalling to Xander to follow him. All the pain, soreness and hangover from the alcohol disappeared from Xander’s body when he heard this good news, it still feels surreal to him. “I am so lucky and blessed, '' he thought to himself with a big wide grin as he and his grandfather exited the office.

Grandmaster Kings kept showing Xander some family pictures and prominent artworks till they reached the entrance where about 8 cars were lined up waiting for them with several bodyguards.

Xander and his grandfather entered one of the cars before it zoomed off with them to a private cemetery where Xander's grandfather showed him the grave of his parents which were beside each other. Xander broke down in tears at the sight not caring about the number of people around him.

“Even though I can’t seem to remember you ,I vow to make you a proud mother and father. I will become an unbeatable billionaire heir to our family empire someday!”

Grandfather Kings have Xander enough time before notifying him that they need to leave because he needs to travel out of the country for an urgent meeting.

Grandmaster Kings and his bodyguards in the expensive fleet of cars took Xander back to school but Xander begged his grandfather not to take him inside because he didn’t want to bring any attention to himself and he is yet to clear his head and sort out his new life

“Okay, be safe. The bodyguards and secretary Kim will be back soon” said Grandmaster Kings, offering a black matte card to Xander which only had the letter K written on it and then a microchip for identification.

“Thank you grandfather” said Xander holding the black card with his heart.

“What should I do on my first day as a billionaire heir ?” Thought Xander while staring at the huge gates of Princeton University.
