The Voice Named Wrath

[*Sigh* You've disappointed me once again, Rin!] The familiar cold yet carefree voice spoke inside of Ruthven/Rin's head, and hearing the disappointment in its words, Rin remembered their conversation from earlier.

Rin was now remembering the deal that was made earlier, even if it was an unfair one it was still a deal. The deal was if Rin were to fail once more in the tutorial Quest, he would seize to exist.

"O-older brother" Rin unintentionally blurted out while backing away from something he couldn't see as a sign of fear.

[You know out of all of our siblings, I was the only one who had faith in you, But now you've gone and lost that faith!]

Rin started to feel fear, and as fear coursed through his body, minor changes began to happen to the peaceful grasslands.

The once clear sky started to have dark red cracks all over it, and the grass that was peacefully laying down was now on edge like sharp razor blades.

[*Sigh* Looks like our reunion will have to be cut short as your soon to seize to existing.]

Rin knew nothing about the voice inside his head, but he was 100% sure that it could wipe him out of existence. This was an instinctive feeling he had.

"W-why are you doing this!?" Rin asked as he didn't understand the events that were happening clearly.

[Huh!?... Am just upholding my end of the deal, after all, a deal is a deal ain't it?] a cold response was given by the voice.

"But why!? I didn't even agree to this deal in the first place, and I still don't know who In the hell are you!!"

As the voice heard Rin's complaining, it went silent for a few seconds before replying in an idiotic manner. [Oops my bad. It seems that I've forgotten to give you your memories back (- _ -)]

Rin's face soon showed confusion as he did not understand what the voice had been referring to. "What memories?

[Hmmm. Sloth is the one who should be explaining this, but knowing how he is he'd just call it to drag and go to sleep. What about Greed then? No that won't do. (Sigh) I hope envy is available] The voice mumbled to itself as if it was in deep thought.

And as Rin listened in on its mumbling, He became curious as to who the names mentioned by the voice were. The names that the voice had mentioned were Sloth, Greed, and Envy.

The names mentioned by the voice were all weird, even the mumbling the voice had was weird. "Umm excuse me. So about my memories?" Rin interrupted.

[Ohh Sorry I forgot about that. So our other siblings are currently busy at the moment and won't be able to help with getting your memories back. That's why I've decided to take it upon myself to return them for you, The only catch is that it's going to be painful, okay?]

As Rin listened to the voice's words, He felt extremely uncomfortable the moment the word 'painful' was mentioned. He didn't know why, but he was sure that he shouldn't let this specific voice return his memories.

"Wait.. on second thought I..." and just as he was about to speak, Immense pain arose from his head. Rin immediately fell to the ground with his hands holding his head tightly.l

The pain Rin felt was uncontrollable as it felt like his head was cracking open. The pain he was feeling was immeasurable compared to the hundreds of deaths he had previously experienced.

[Hehe.. oops. It looks like I've failed to control my strength... again.] the voice said.

"What do you mean again!?" Rin thought as he wanted to ask this, but his mouth wasn't able to say anything as it was only a cable of screaming.

As Rin was busy rolling around on the ground, The voice answered his thoughts [Well... I have a tendency to use too much strength every time I try limiting it.]

"Huh...wait what!? You can read my mind?"

[Of course, I can. Didn't I tell you that before?]

Rin who was already in pain started to be swallowed by anger towards his stupid older brother. " No, you didn't you moron!"

[That's rude of you. You can't call your brother a moron got that!] the voice said in a scolding tone. [ Anyways it looks like the memory process is about to begin.]

"Huh? what do you mean the mem..." just As Rin was about to finish his sentence, many images began to emerge from his mind.

Each image Rin saw in his head had carried with it its own set of emotions. Some were of joy while some were filled with sorrow and hate. And because of this, Rin's emotions would constantly change with every passing second.

Soon Rin started to lose consciousness as he passed out in the grasslands.

[Hmm.. looks like he passed out again... That's too bad. Well I hope our siblings don't decide on hard punishment for him.]

The voice mumbled to itself as Rin quietly slept under The ancient tree, and as the voice was mumbling to itself, the system showed up above Ruthven.

< [Notice] The host's mind seems to be unstable, preparing countermeasures for the situation.>

Just as the system was making its preparations for the countermeasure, It heard a voice.

[ I don't think that's necessary] this was the voice Rin had been hearing all this time.

< ..... The system demands to know who you are.>

[Haha you don't need to worry, am just his older brother.]

< If you're his brother, then do you mind explaining the current situation to me?>

[ I would love to, but I think it's way better if you just silently observed for now.]

<.... The system is still unable to understand your intentions.>

[Like I said don't worry, We won't harm him, so just observe for now.]

The system went silent towards the voice's words as it was analyzing whether to believe the voice or not.

<... Affirmative, The system shall start observing the host as of this moment.>

[Hours later]

<[Notice] 10 minutes left before the Tutorial Quest begins> Rin was my was woken up by those words.

Slowly waking up under the ancient tree, Rin had a huge headache and it would only get worse as he heard the voice. [Ohh you're awake. I hope you had a nice nap?]

As soon as Rin heard the voice inside his head, he put on an angry expression.

"Wrath! Did you have to use so much power?" Rin said.

[Ohh would you look at that, you got your memories back. Also, how dare you call me by my name am still your order brother got that!]

Wrath seemed to be the voice's true name, and Rin calling the voice by his name was a sign that he had gotten his memories back.

"Yah yah I know, so where are the others"

[ They are currently deciding on what's to be done with you. Since you didn't have your memories back when you were doing the tutorial Quest, it has been deemed that the previous deal was an unfair one.]

Wrath properly explained the situation to Rin, but the truth was, Rin was happier that the previous deal was deemed invalid because this meant that his existence would continue.

<[Notice] 5 minutes left before {Tutorial Quest} begins>

[Ohh would you look at that, our time has been cut short once again, but there's no need to worry we'll properly catch up when I return.] Wrath said so with enthusiasm.

But what he had said was confusing to Rin." What do you mean by 'when you return? "

[Haha it's high time I played Ruthven now, I hope you don't mind leaving the body to me now.]

"Huh. Your taking control of the body? why all of a sudden?"

[ Like I said I'll explain everything to you when I return, so don't worry too much, okay]

<[Notice] 1 Minute left before {Tutorial Quest} begins>

[Time to go now.] Wrath said as Rin/ Ruthven was engulfed by a dark type of energy that kept getting darker with every passing second.

Moments later Ruthven emerged from the darkness with a different type of air around him as if he had a personality change.

<[Notice] 30 seconds left before {Tutorial Quest} begins>

[Ohh such little time is left, What to do, what to do?] Ruthven said as he began to do some stretching.

As He stretched his entire Body, Excitement could be seen on his face as the countdown from 10 began.
