I was thinking exactly the same.. Far too much padding. There have been countless times when I’ve flicked through whole chapters to move on from time-wasting nonsense that has little relevance. I want an end now and it should occur within the next ten chapters with Clair producing babies.
since when does Charlie not stop their fights, since when does he run from the situation? usually he's a bit more assertive now that he's coming into his own after being beat down for years. do the new writers even read the book before hand.
