Two days later. In the afternoon.

"Let's eat. After that, you have to take your medicine." Sarah put a tray of fish and vegetable soup on Steven's lap.

"Thanks." Steve ate his food. It had been two days since he had been lying on the bed due to difficulty walking, making him a little bored.

However, his boredom was instantly relieved when he saw Sarah.

Steve glanced at the pink-haired woman who was busy reading a file. "Why don't you tell your assistant to buy me some food? So, you don't have to leave your work."

"I didn't want people to know I was hiding a man."

"Why?"

"I'm an actress. I don't want fake news to appear about me and you."

Steve was wide-eyed. 'Artist? What a strange coincidence.'

"Why are you so surprised?"

"I-I just didn't expect to meet an artist in person." Steve was nervous.

"Really? You don't recognize me?" Sarah was a little offended.

"O-of course I recognize you!" Steve was lying. "But you seem to look different than on TV."

"You're lying!"

"No!"

"Now, tell me the movie title I'm acting in."

Steve thought hard.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Steve and Sarah were surprised when someone knocked on the door so roughly.

"Tsk! Why is that jerk coming?" Sarah opened the door.

"Where is that man?!" A fifty-year-old man shouted angrily.

"Dad?!" Sarah was surprised. "Why do you come here?! What do you mean?"

"Stop talking nonsense! Where is the man?! Where are you hiding your mistress?"

"I'm not cheating with someone! How many times do I have to tell you?" Sarah was exasperated.

"Don't play dumb! I know you're hiding your mistress here! Get out of my way! I Will check your apartment!"

"No! You can't ... Argh!" Sarah's head banged against the wall as Robert pushed her.

"Sarah!" Steve reflexively got off the bed to help her but immediately fell.

Robert was shocked when he found a man lying in pain on the floor. "My guess was right! You must be the man, Asshole!" He went straight to Steve and pulled his shirt roughly.

"Wait, Dad! He's-"

"How dare you have sex with my daughter, Bastard!!"

PUNCH!

Robert brutally punched Steve out. The young man didn't retaliate; he resigned to Robert's attack.

"Calm down, Dad! He's just a victim of my carelessness yesterday! I accidentally bumped into him!" Sarah explained frantically while trying to break them up.

Robert slapped Sarah. "You are a liar! I knew you were dating a strange man! Did you forget that you already have a fiancé, dammit!? How if he know you're cheating on him?! I don't want to lose my source of money because your stupidity!"

"It's not true! Please, trust me, Dad!" Sarah pleaded while holding her cheeks reddened from the slap.

"I'm not willing to believe in a brat like you! If your fiancé leaves you and you fall into poverty, I swear I will throw you and your mother away! Now, give me some money! I want to gamble!"

"I-I don't have money anymore. My savings are only enough to pay for mom's hospital."

"I don't care! Give me your money! Hurry up!" Robert grabbed Sarah's bag lying on the nightstand and then scattered its contents on the floor.

"No, Daddy!" Sarah cried as she tried to regain her bag, but Robert pushed her so hard that she hit the wall again.

After getting Sarah's debit card and wallet, he went outside and slammed the door.

BRUG!

"Son of a bitch!" Sarah swore irritably while ruffling her hair in frustration. She leaned back languidly while sobbing. Slowly, her body slumped to the floor.

The sound of her sobs echoed in the quiet room and cut Steve to the core.

Since then, the pale-skinned young man had just watched their argument without being able to do anything about it. There was no point in explaining the situation, as Sarah's father certainly wouldn't listen.

On the other hand, Steve cursed himself as a man for not being able to help Sarah keep her money.

"Fo-forgive me," Steve said regretfully.

Sarah glared at him angrily. "It's all because of you! My life wouldn't be such a mess if you never existed!" She shouted angrily. Tears were streaming down her face. Her gaze looked desperate.

Steve didn't take ofoffenset all, as he admitted his mistake.

"Once again, I'm sorry. I'm a bad luck charm." Steve's voice trembled slightly with tears, but he tried to be strong. "You should have let me die yesterday, then you wouldn't have suffered. I would have been very grateful to you.

Sarah stopped crying and glanced at Steve, confused by his words.

"If you had died, you would have caused me more trouble, damn it."

Sarah went to get a small towel and a bowl of cold water from the kitchen and treated the blood running down the corner of Steve's lip.

Steve suddenly broke out in a cold sweat while Sarah focused on treating him. His heart was racing because Sarah's face was so close to his that he could see it. He couldn't blink at Sarah's charm.

Unfortunately, Steve's eyes were glued to Sarah's luscious lips. He swallowed his saliva when he was to imagine her kissing him.

'Now is a good opportunity to kiss her.'

"What are you looking at?" snapped Sarah.

Sarah broke Steve's imagination, and he lowered nervously. "S-sorry. I'm just ...."

"You perverted man! You must be thinking badly of me!"

"N-no! I'm just amazed because you're so beautiful!"

Bugh!

"Ouch!"

"You're disgusting!" Sarah threw the little crumble away and then left.

"Tsk! You're making a mess of things, Steve!" Steve cursed his carelessness.

He thought hard. "How can I kiss Sarah without her getting mad?

After recovering, he vowed to walk away from Sarah's life so she wouldn't make her life miserable again.

Steve stared at the transparent screen, which did not disappear from his sight.

[Warning! You only have 12 hours left. If you fail, this system will cease to exist. Forever]

"Shit! Why didn't you tell me from the beginning that there was a time limit?!" Steve protested.

He bit his nails while thinking hard. His head was about to explode.

Steve planned to kiss Sarah as compensation for paralyzing her, but what if he didn't recover? He would be homeless after losing Sarah, his life-saver, as he would not be able to work and do any activities.

He hates to admit it, but now he depends entirely on her.

"I have no other choice. I have to do this."

Steve stared at the man with the dragon tattoo, eyes sharp and calculating. One million dollars. That wasn’t just the price of his fortune—it could cost him his life if he approached the syndicate unprepared. “I need two days,” Steve said steadily. “Give me the address.” The tattooed man raised an eyebrow, then pulled a slip of paper from his coat pocket. “Midnight. Old warehouse. Bring the money. Come alone, or we’ll split the woman in two. You might’ve saved her today, but tomorrow? She won’t be so lucky. If you go back on your word, my boss will hunt you and that woman down.” Steve took the paper without a flicker of emotion. His gaze shifted to the woman behind the car window—shaking, frozen in place. “What’s your name?” he asked as the tattooed man and his men backed away. The woman was silent for a few seconds before whispering, “Clarissa.” “Clarissa?” Steve nodded. So it was true. This woman was Mateo’s wife—and somehow, she was part of his dirty operations. ---

Mateo's eyes widened. *How is this possible?!* Steve grinned. “Is that all you've got?” [Iron Body item has been activated.] [Usage time: 5 minutes.] 'His strength is insane.
