The Fire Saber Rangers

A story

Jurazuss grunted as he lifted up his staff slowly into the air ready to stab him not until... Freddie jolted out from his sleep with a shout which went very loud.

He was sweating profusely and panting at the same time. Freddie looked very scared and at the same time confused with his eyebrows furrowed together.

That single shout attracted Kim (His Mom) who dashed into his room without a knock.

"Freddie!!!, What's wrong, why did you scream like that" Kim asked Freddie who was fidgeting and at the same time trembling even as he tucked his head to his knee.

"Relax Freddie. Take it easy alright. Just tell me what happened" She added this time holding him on the shoulder. Freddie slowly raised his head making an eye contact with his mom.

"I had a dream"

"A dream" Kim exclaimed with a narrow eyes she made amidst her glasses

"Yes mum; I saw dad and a monster. They engaged into a fight and the monster won. The monster was ready to pierce dad in the belly and that was when i woke up. Mom what's going on; why am I having this same dream over and over" Freddie said with a frown. He aggressively ran his hand through his blond hair in fustration.

"Son I want you to take it easy alright, take a deep breath and you'll feel fine I promise" Kim raised her two hands in the air for a hug as Freddie falls into her warm hands.

You know as a mother, all Kim tries to do is to make Freddie feel good as that didn't last long. They were interrupted by Jack and Chloe who also dashed in with out a knock.

"Freddie! I heard your scream from the dinning room" Chloe said with concern after she threw the door opened.

"Yea me too, Is everything okay? Mom" Jack added with his eyes fisted on both Freddie and Kim for an answer.

Suddenly Freddie spoke out "I had a dream" Freddie replied in a way that a man without life would have answered as he stared into the air.

At his answer Jack and Chloe looked at on another with their brows lowered and mouth wide opened "A dream!!!"

"yea, a very bad dream" Freddie replied before disengaging from his mother's arm, taking his pillow, pinning it to his chest like a baby holding firmly to his mother.

Chloe inhales before walking to Freddie on the bed "hey bro; sure you don't wanna tell us about it" she childishly said resting her arms on Freddie's shoulder.

Jack also added with a shrug. "Yea, i mean if you don't tell us, i don't see who you'll tell"

Freddie waited for some seconds before explaining his dream to his siblings in such a slow and manner way. As Kim heard this, she became worried not only at the dream but at how her son reacted to the dream.

"Jeez" Chloe exclaimed with her mouth wide open.

"Woah, that was really a bad dream" Jack stated as he sat back on the wooden chair placed beside the closet due to the pain he felt for standing too long.

After explaining the story, Kim who was just staring at them for a long time sighed and spoke out.

"Kids there's a story I'll like to tell you"

"A story" Jack wondered with her head tilted to a side.

"yea" Kim affirms with a nod.

"But what does telling a story got to do with my dream" Freddie asked with a furrowed brows and his hands opened with no idea of what telling a story has to with his terrible nightmare. This time Freddie has let out his pillow from his arms.

"You'll get to know very soon" Kim replied Freddie instantly. Seeing they were moving into a story time which chloe loves, she dressed her self very close to Freddie, hugging him tightly as a child would hold on to his mother.

"You see kids, you trouble me with a lot of questions about your father, where he is, why you haven't seen him for a couple of years now" She was not done when chloe interrupted.

"Yeah like seriously" she said with a scoff.

"That's true. And you haven't given us an answer" jack added as he adjusted into an attentive position on the seat.

"yea; but today I'll tell you who, what and where your father is" Kim said as her statement looked like parable to them.

"At last! but wait a minute; what do you mean by who; what and where he is?" Chloe asked as she shrugged her self out of Freddie's body.

"Yeah because when I was little I remembered dad telling me he worked as an engineer" Freddie added which made Kim pause for a while before uttering.

"Actually we lied" Kim said pressing her lips with a slight frown.

"Oh me heavens!!!" Chloe gasped with her hands on her chest like in a funny way. Her reaction made jack and Freddie stare at her with their brows furrowed that she quickly understood their reactions.

"actually that's what Michelle and i do whenever we hear latest news but seriously mom why" Chloe said before taking the jokes apart.

"The reason why I kept lying to you guys was that I didn't want you to find out about your father's disappearance" Kim said this time as she removed her glasses, took out her handkerchief in other to wipe out the sweat.

"Disappearance? I thought he died" Jack wondered with his brows furrowed.

"not at all; your father as been transported to the saber galaxy world " Kim said not looking into their faces. Putting on her glasses, she noticed their reactions.

Jack who never heard that word made a fixed gaze at kim before exclaiming "The Saber what!!"

"You heard me right, the saber galaxy world" Kim said with a stern face which indicated that she is serious.

"And where is that? a city in Miami?" Freddie jokingly asked which didn't appeared to be funny to the others.

Shaking his head in disagreement Jack said "Not cool bro"

"Actually not miami Freddie but the saber galaxy world is a planet where all the past chosen ones who we know as the fire saber rangers are transported to when their time is over or where the captured monsters are imprisoned by the past rangers "

Kim's answer made jack and Chloe surprised again as they looked at each other before yelling out "The Fire Saber Rangers"

"Yea! The Fire Saber Rangers" Kim affirmed her point with a slight smile on her face.

"Oh my god this is getting interesting' Jack said rubbing his hands together. He felt uncomfortable, so he adjusted himself on the seat.

"Who are the fire saber rangers" Crossing his legs and arms together, Freddie asked "My point" Chloe added

"Wow, we are likely spending a lot of time here, anyway I'll explain" Kim lit up and she explained to them what a fire saber ranger is.

"A fire saber ranger or i 'll say fire saber rangers are group of people who team up together to save and protect the earth and the people from the evil ones who are bent on taking control of the earth" Kim said as she paused looking into their faces to see if they were following her story..

"At that time; your father was the chosen one. Meaning he was chosen to be a leader of the fire saber rangers, A red ranger to be precise"

Kim paused as she noticed chloe was eager to let out her feelings "You're kidding right?"

"No chloe I'm not. Your father being the chosen one accompanied by other friends of his, became the fire saber rangers. They swore to protect the people from the evil one. You see Son! The dream you had was not just any dream but it was real" Kim said now addressing freddie's dream.

"sorry I don't follow" Freddie said with a crease between his brow.

"I don't know son if you could remember clearly when you were little, there was this time when Barry explained to you about butterflies"

After some seconds of thinking, Freddie blurted "yeah yeah, I remember, actually that was the last time I saw dad"

"Very true because that same day, an event that took place between your father and the great Lord Jurazuss " Kim said picturing the event.

"The great what now?" Jack said but this time seating on the handle of the chair.

"The great Jurazuss. He's the lord and leader of the kolvax galaxy world" Kim faced jack directly.

"Oh i see, it was this monster that almost killed dad" Freddie said with a nod as he began to have an idea of who the monster was in his dream.

"That day was a dreaded day. At that spot, where i hid with you and jack" Kim said pointing to Freddie "I saw how your father was badly battered by Jurazuss. I wanted to help but i couldn't" Her eyes were gathering tears but Freddie and his siblings could not notice due to her glasses.

"Why" Chloe cuts in.

Kim inhales before speaking "Two reasons Chloe. being a chosen one, you have a limited time to bring an end to the evil ones, if you can't, a new leader will emerge. It became clear to Barry that his time was over as many of the other rangers were destroyed"

"And the second one is" Freddie asked as he leaned forward

Kim stared at her kids before speaking " Your Father made it clear for me that whatever happens, I should not interfere"

"But wait a minute, some seconds ago you said dad disappeared, now you're sounding like he died" Jack now on his feet observed with his arms crossed.

"The reason I am sounding like this is because after your father escaped the attempted murder made by Jurazuss to the saber galaxy world, I never heard or even set my eyes on him" Kim softly replied as tears began to fall from her eye.

"Damn it" Jack grunted as he slammed his fist on the chair

Taking off her glasses, Chloe could see the tears falling from her eyes. She then moved closer to her "No mom don't cry, Its okay mom" she sighed "its alright, I now know why you wanted to keep it as a secret from us" she said as she placed Kim's head on her chest, caressing her blonde hair.

Freddie who was still thinking snapped out "The thing is what does this monster wants, like I mean there must be a reason for him to have troubled the whole city" Freddie cuts in as he looked curious for the truth.

"I agree with you fred... there's more to this mom" jack was not done when they heard the bell sound downstairs. Before anyone could say a word, Chloe spoke.

"I'll get it" she silently jumped off the bed, ran through the stairs with her hands on the railings for support. Getting in front of the door, she opened and was surprised to see...
