Jackson fell silent at her sarcastic tone. He knew she was still angry—angry because he had refused to help lighten, let alone end, Brielle’s imprisonment.

“Oh. I’ll go to my room then,” he said quietly.

“Go ahead, no one’s stopping you.”

Without another word, Jackson walked toward his bedroom door and disappeared inside.

He let out a rough sigh. He couldn’t possibly get angry at her—not when the woman he loved was venting her hurt this way. Leaning his broad back against the wall, Jackson closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm himself.

His mind kept racing, but he had already decided: he would wait. He would give her space to finish her anger before trying to talk things out with her face-to-face.

Meanwhile, Jennyfer froze. She quietly closed her book after seeing Jackson leave without saying another word. Disappointment flashed across her face. Frowning, she stood up from the sofa and walked straight into her room.

“I waited for him so long, even until I got sleepy. But all he

“There are no other questions related to this matter, and I believe there’s nothing more to discuss. Once again, let me make this clear—I will never withdraw the case, and I will not stop this criminal process!”As if a royal decree had just been declared, the first trial for the embezzlement case worth five billion rupiahs officially began. The amount—five billion—was nothing significant to Jackson. It wasn’t about the money. But to avenge his pain and humiliation all these years, he no longer cared about family ties or relationships—especially now that Jennyfer had left him by her own choice.Samuel swallowed his anger and shame as he began to go through the legal procedures in the courtroom. Madam Ester said nothing either—she had no courage to speak, especially after Jackson had rejected even a simple question about Jennyfer. As for Firdaus, he was completely irrelevant in that room.Regret began to gnaw at Samuel. He realized that he should never have insulted or belittled his si

Jackson, who had initially planned to finish his breakfast quickly so he could attend to the matter awaiting him, decided otherwise. He suddenly wanted to approach Bramasta and confront him right there and then. But when his mind recalled how confidently Jenny had said she loved his stepbrother, Jackson’s heart twisted in pain once again. He couldn’t decide what to do. With a heavy sigh, he resumed eating his breakfast, which had been momentarily forgotten.“Baby… where do you want to sit?”Whether it was intentional or not, Jackson clearly heard Bramasta’s voice.“I’ll just sit on your lap, darling,” the woman in the revealing outfit purred flirtatiously.Jackson remained silent, not wanting to start any unnecessary commotion, even though his chest felt like it was about to explode at the thought of Jennyfer being betrayed. He ignored everything he was hearing and focused on finishing his meal until there was nothing left.Jackson stood up and was about to leave when—“Hey, loser! • Chapter 158. Suspicious

Albert stood frozen, holding back the storm in his chest when he heard the woman’s condescending tone as she mentioned his young lady’s name. He remained still, his heartbeat pounding furiously. A part of him wanted to yell — to warn that middle-aged woman not to speak so disrespectfully — but of course, he couldn’t show any of that now.So arrogant. If only the President himself were standing here right now, I’m sure your little restaurant would be shut down in an instant. Unbelievable!Albert gritted his teeth silently, seething inside. He then pulled out his leather wallet, took out a thick stack of red banknotes, and placed it right in front of the woman. The woman’s scowling face immediately changed. She froze, eyes widening at the sight of the young man before her, still silent and unreadable.“T-This money… what is it for, sir?” she asked, stunned.“Please treat the new waitress named Jenn with respect. If you ever dare to shout at her or overwork her beyond what’s reasonable,

“Whatever. What matters now is that we have lunch!”“Yes, Mr. President.”Jackson’s sarcastic remark made Bernard immediately start the engine and drive the luxury car toward a place he often visited whenever they were near the city border. He stopped right in front of a restaurant that, although simple, could actually be categorized as quite large.Once the three of them sat on the bamboo chairs, a male waiter approached and asked for their orders.“Just serve us the house special,” Bernard said quickly before the waiter could even ask.“Alright, sir. What would you like to drink?”“Avocado juice,” Jackson replied without thinking. His stomach was hurting badly, and he wanted to start with something light to soothe it first.“I’m sorry, sir, we don’t have avocado juice today. We only have regular Milo, Milo with milk, coffee, hot tea, iced tea, and orange juice,” the waiter said politely, listing the available options in that modest restaurant.“Oh, alright then. Just hot tea — no su

Meanwhile, Bernard stayed silent, listening to the conversation between his president and his best friend while keeping his focus on driving the car, which sped down the road as smoothly as a galloping horse.“Y-yes, Mr. President. It’s been a few months now.”Albert, who could no longer hide his personal problems, could only speak honestly about everything.“Oh, only a few months, huh.”“I—I’m so sorry, Mr. President. I promise I’ll never again get involved with anyone who works under The World Global. I swear it won’t happen again.”“What exactly did Liliana do to you? Why did you call her a traitor?”Rather than focusing on the company policy against workplace relationships, Jackson instead asked the question that had been bothering him since last night.Silence.“Albert was planning to propose to Liliana last night, Mr. President. But the woman he was about to propose to was caught red-handed making out with her boyfriend when we got there. Quite a stroke of luck, I’d say.”Bernar

If not, you’ll suffer the consequences!”After throwing out those threatening words, Bramasta immediately turned around and left with several of his men.Neither his father nor his mother accompanied him this time, and it seemed that everything Bramasta did was filled with hidden schemes and secret planning. After that night’s incident, Madam Ester and Mr. Andreas immediately hired people to search for Jennyfer. They had already handed out Jennyfer’s photo, and even her phone number had been tracked for days.Coincidentally, on that very same day, Jennyfer lost her phone while taking public transportation in search of a job.Jennyfer’s suffering was now complete. She no longer had a phone or any cash on her. There wasn’t a single valuable item left on her body either, since even the red diamond ring Jackson had once given her was left behind in the drawer of her room.
