Benjamin arrived at Fiumicino Airport on Wednesday afternoon, about an hour and a half before his flight to Paris.

His flight was scheduled for 4:00 p.m., and he had deliberately given himself plenty of time. He did not want to rush through the airport or arrive in Paris exhausted. The meeting with Alessandro Bellini was important, and he wanted to be rested and mentally prepared when he finally sat across from the man who owned Puntuale Logistics.

Bellini was expecting him at a private sports

The bi-weekly executive meeting was about to begin when Benjamin finished up the telephone call at his desk."Yes, send the revised figures to Ruby before noon," he said. "I'll review them this afternoon."He listened for another moment before ending the call.Benjamin placed the phone beside his laptop and looked across the room.Desmond, Elio Celsco, Julia Carlisle and Luca Ferraro were already seated around the conference table. Their folders were open, and several documents had already been arranged in front of them.Benjamin left his desk and walked over to the table."Good morning.""Good morning," they replied. He took his seat at the head of the table and glanced briefly toward Julia."Julia, this is your first executive meeting. Welcome officially to the table.""Thank you," she replied.Benjamin gave a brief nod."All right. Let's get started."He turned toward Desmond."Telecommunications."Desmond opened the first folder."We have two major developments on the private netw

By half past nine, the party had begun to lose its earlier energy. The garden still looked beautiful under the warm September night. Small golden lights had been wrapped around the trunks and lower branches of the olive trees, while strings of tiny bulbs stretched above the main seating area, giving the garden a soft, welcoming glow. Lanterns had been placed along the stone pathways, and several low floral arrangements decorated the tables. White flowers, greenery and candles filled the centre of the largest table where dinner had been served earlier.A long table near the terrace still held bottles of champagne, though most of them were now empty. Plates had been partially cleared, some holding only crumbs, while others still contained pieces of dessert that nobody had bothered to finish. A few champagne glasses remained scattered around the tables, evidence of the celebration that had lasted for hours. Most of the guests had already gone home. It was a Monday night, after all, and t

“So, how has your day been so far?”Julia's elder sister, Lily's voice carried its familiar American accent as she leaned forward across the restaurant table, looking directly at her.Julia smiled.Julia had barely settled into her new office that morning when Lily had sent her a message telling her that she, Amelia and Viola would meet her for lunch during her break.Julia had actually wanted to stay in the office. There were still pages of handover notes waiting for her, and Alonzo had only covered the first part of the transition. She wanted to go through everything again while the information was still fresh. But there was no saying no to the Carlisle clan. Not when three women had already decided that lunch was happening. She looked around the table at their familiar faces. Amelia, her older brother's wife, sat beside Lily, while Viola, her younger sister, sat across from her.“It has been good so far,” she said. “Busy, but good.”Lily raised an eyebrow.“Busy how?”Julia laughed

Benjamin sat at the head of the conference table in his office, a folder open in front of him.Across from him were Elio Celsco, Valmont's CFO, Francesca Kosmo, the Group Chief Accountant, and Lauro De Santis, a senior accounts officer responsible for project accounting and capital expenditure monitoring. The meeting had started shortly after nine.Elio rested his tablet on the table.“We'll begin with the three construction projects that need financial review this morning. Two retail outlets outside Rome, the Milan hotel and the logistics expansion in Florence.”Benjamin nodded.“Start with retail.”Francesca opened the first report.“The Naples outlet is the one requiring attention. Bologna is performing within its approved budget.”Benjamin looked at the figures.“How far is Naples from completion?”“Approximately forty-six percent,” Lauro answered. “The contractor's latest valuation puts physical progress at forty-six point three percent. We've matched that against invoices alread

Julia sat down and opened one of the documents on her system. She had barely read the first page when there was a knock on the door. She looked up.“Come in.”The door opened, and Alonzo Nico stepped inside.Julia immediately recognized him. They had already met during the final stages of her recruitment, though their interaction had been brief.“Good morning, Mr. Nico.”“Good morning, Ms. Carlisle.”He closed the door behind him.“Please, call me Alonzo,” he said.Julia smiled. “Then you can call me Julia.”“Fair enough.”He took the seat opposite her desk, carrying a slim folder and a tablet.“I thought we could start with the handover.”“That would be good,” Julia said. “I went through some of the general information HR provided, but I would rather hear from you directly about how things actually operate.”“That is probably the better approach,” Alonzo replied. “Documents can tell you what a company is supposed to do. They don't always tell you how things actually get done.”Julia

Diletta Lombardi led Julia to the door after the MD’s door. Julia's eyes immediately went to the nameplate.Chief Operating Officer. For a moment, she simply looked at it.She had known she was coming to Valmont Group as the new COO. She had signed the necessary documents and prepared herself for the responsibility. But seeing those three words on the door made everything feel real.Diletta opened the door."This is your office," she said. "I hope you like it."Julia stepped inside. Her attention immediately went to the desk.It was large without being overwhelming, finished in dark walnut with clean, modern lines. Two wide monitors sat neatly on the desk, one positioned directly in front of the executive chair and the other angled slightly to the side. A slim keyboard and wireless mouse rested in front of them. There was also a modern desk phone, a tablet dock, a charging station and a small digital display.Everything was neatly arranged.Julia smiled."Of course. This is beautiful
