Twelve Years Ago…
Winters Estate… Darius, his twin brother Sylus, and his sister Leah were running with their mother guiding them; their father, standing back, fought off the men trying to kill them. “Emma, take them to the safe room and make sure that no one sees you!!” Darius heard his father’s voice as he used his gun and blade to ward off the men pouring into the house. Emma Winters, Darius’s mother, carried her children as they ran through the halls, pushing past everything. “It’s going to be okay!” She reassured as she held her children, leading them to safety. “It’s okay, I need you to…” BAM! A loud shot was heard. Emma fell to her knees, looking down at her belly; she could see the bullet hole there. Turning back to see one of the men, he had a twin serpent tattoo across his head with a prosthetic eye. “Got ya …” The man said as he raised the gun to shoot again when Sylus threw himself in the way to protect his mother. “Mom!” The young boy cried, as shots could be heard riddling the boy’s back with bullets. “Ahhh, shit…” the man cackled as he reloaded. “Well, that saves me more time, but it doesn’t mean anything…” Slash! The man was struck down from the back; he fell on one knee as he turned to see Viktor Winters, Darius’ father. He had bullet holes and stab wounds on his body, but the man moved to make sure that his family would be okay. “Emma…Sylus…” Viktor staggered, walking over to his dying wife and dead son. “Viktor…” Emma looked at her husband one more time, before another shot was fired straight through his skull, killing him instantly. The one-eyed man was still alive; he stood up with a smile on his face. “Now that was cheating, even for someone of your standards…” The man turned to look at Emma, as she held her husband's corpse. “Don’t worry, I will help you with that too…” The man fired another shot, killing Emma. He looked around, seeing that there wasn’t anyone else there, knowing that Darius and the little girl with him had gotten away. “Oi, find those runts and make sure they aren’t breathing!” The man ordered, looking around, about to walk away, when he heard a gun reload. Turning, he saw Darius holding the gun, his eyes filled with tears, his legs and body shaking. “You killed my mom, you killed my dad, you killed my brother!” His hands were on the trigger, staring at the man with pure hate in his eyes. Something had awoken within him; all he felt was dark thoughts and an energy towards the men who stood in their house. “Now kid, let’s not do anything…” Bam! Bam! Bam! Darius fired three shots, missing two but hitting the man on the knee with the third one. The man’s allies burst through the door, but all they saw was a boy holding a gun up before they could even react. Darius shot them; his hands were glued to the trigger, gritting his teeth as he kept shooting. The man with tattoos saw the bloodlust in the boy’s eyes. “Somebody kill the damn kid!” Suddenly, they heard sirens coming from the outside. Two other men walked in using some dark energy; they pushed Darius back. “The police are here, the bombs have been mounted…this place will be sky high soon.” They grabbed the injured man; he stared at Darius with a sinister look. Darius kept looking at the man, pushing himself up. He grabbed the gun again, and with the anger boiling up in his soul, he fired another shot. Luckily, this shot hit the man’s prosthetic eye, taking it out. “Fuck! This kid has to…” “Sable, we are leaving!” They disappeared, as if they had never been there. Darius held the gun, shaking like a rat pulled out of water. “Mom…Dad…Sylus…!” Heavy boots could be heard stomping forward. “This is the police, drop your weapons and stand down!” The order rang out as the officers poured in; the sight before them was that of absolute horror. A child standing over dead bodies, gun in hand, mumbling something about a man with snake tattoos. “They killed them…” “They killed them…” Darius repeated his speech, looking around. A young Arnold Zigga walked in, still an officer and low in rank; the moment he saw the sight right in front of him, he took off his cap. “Good Lord, what in the world happened here?” His eyes went to Darius, the boy shaking as he held the gun in his hand. “Demons have possessed that child!” They apprehended Darius there and then, trying to take him out of the house while the boy fought back. “Leah!” “Leah!” “My sister…she’s inside the safe room; please help my sister!” Darius cried, looking back at the house, trying to get them to release him, but it was to no avail. Once they were steps out of the house, a loud ring could be heard, followed by sparks. Ka—Boom! The entire Winters Mansion was destroyed; parts of the estate started exploding as well. Darius stood there and watched his life go up in smoke. Leah never made it out. From there on, his rage couldn't be bottled. Headlines labeled it. ~Child has a psychotic break and murders family and workers in cold blood… They called him the demon child… Thirteen-year-old Darius was charged with multiple homicides, possession of a firearm, and being a danger to society. He was sent to juvenile detention, but there his rage made him a predator, breaking the arms of people who wanted to pin him down. He even killed most of the inmates that tried to touch him. They then sent him to Zeta Doom, home of monsters… That was where he met an older man; no one spoke to him, no one went close to him. They avoided him like a plague. Somehow, Darius was drawn to the man. After fighting across the prison, he would go and sit down next to him. “You’re either a borderline sociopath, or…” The older man turned to Darius. “Or you’re a disturbed child.” The man spoke to Darius and saw that the boy was there for things that he hadn’t even done. Darius would share his food with the man and call him Gramps. Slowly, both of them developed a relationship like that of a grandfather and a grandchild. The man taught Darius how to fight, how to channel his energy, and, most of all, how to ascend. Martial arts that were not even in the system. Breathing Techniques that steadied the heart and mind. Secret techniques that could stop a man’s heart with minimal movements. The Technique of The Nine Pillars! The older man also taught him healing techniques and medicines that transcended conventional practices. And there within the bowels of Zeta Doom, a man was reborn. An Angel was birthed in hell… The Golden Dragon Emperor was born!Latest Chapter

“What the fuck is wrong with this man?!” Darius slammed his hand on his forehead, moving back to the sofa. He sat down, looking at the letter, then went back to the line that said he was engaged. “Twelve years in literal hell with you and you leave me with a girl I know nothing of…” “You could have left me with swords or guns or maybe the map to get a talisman that would help, but you left me a girl!” Darius slumped deep into the sofa, trying to fix everything in his mind. He pulled out the card that was attached to the letter. It had the same symbol, a dragon and a Phoenix. “His wealth is in this card; this isn't the kind of thing you leave with someone.” His thoughts are interrupted when there is a slight knock on the door. He turns to see Luther standing there; he pushes himself off the sofa. “Luther,” he smiled, knowing that he had something. “What do you have?” Luther smirked; he saw a spark in Darius's eyes, and he knew that they were able to have fun. “His name is S

Darius remained silent; what he had learned was vast and beyond his usual thoughts. He was an heir? All those years he spent training, fighting, and plotting his revenge. Was he being trained for a throne as vast as that? “He told me to give you this; he said that you would need to read it before you make your first step.” Luther handed the envelope over to Darius. He took the envelope and stared at it to see that it had a dragon-and-phoenix seal. Darius looked outside to see that they had crossed a bridge, arriving at what looked like a massive mansion that stretched as far as four blocks. “Tell me, Luther,” he spoke slowly, looking at the building. “Just how much is this Order worth?” Luther was a bit surprised by the question, but managed to stay balanced. “We don't have the exact estimated value; there are shadow empires and earnings tied to the Order hidden from the public eye,” Luther spoke proudly. “But to the public, it's about nine hundred and ninety-eight

For the first time since leaving the prison, Darius was surprised. “Who in the world are you people?” he raised his brow, taking a step back. “And what is the Order of The Nine Heavens?” The man wearing the green suit looked up as he cleared his throat. “I am Luther Parker,” he spoke, his voice regal and bold. “We were sent here by Master Meliodas; we can't tell you everything here. So I plead that you come with us.” Darius's chest tightened when he heard the name. Meliodas… It was a name he never thought he would hear outside the walls of Zeta Doom… Meliodas was the older man who had guided his steps. Was the mysterious, energetic, crafty, powerful older man who had trained him the one who sent these people? He had vanished from Zeta Doom three months ago, the day he left. He had handed his bowl of chicken soup to Darius, a smile on his face. “Say, Darius, once you're done with what you have here…” Meliodas spoke, looking up at the ceiling with a smile on his face. “I will

“How pompous. I would love to watch as you cut your own hands off. Then only then will you learn your place…” The doctor chuckled as he watched Darius approach Arnold's family. Darius stood there looking at them, then raised his hand. “I need Mung beans, garlic, ginger, hot water, scalpels, towels, and steel bowls!” Darius ordered, his voice making everyone watching shiver in fear. The nurses present didn't move, nor did the doctor. “You heard him, get what he asked for!” His guards didn't even waste a second, bolting out of the room. The doctor hissed, looking at everyone in front of him as they lost their minds. “What is he trying to do? Prepare soup?” He didn't even want to see what Darius was doing. Darius, right in front of the family, started humming something inaudible; almost immediately, the room’s pressure changed. The guards returned with all the ingredients in hand. They handed it over to Darius; he moved over to the people lying unconscious, and he made a cut d

For a decade, Darius had finally seen the clear blue sky and breathed in fresh air. He stood still, basking in the fresh breeze that blew across his hair. His eyes closed as he reminisced about what it felt like to be free.He had been robbed of twelve years of his life; they took his name, his childhood, and his future. Darius stood there, raising his hand as birds fluttered around it. “Finally…” Darius closed his eyes as his veins shimmered, and his body radiated powerful energy. His bones ached, and his stomach hungered; he did one thing…Vengeance. The sound of an engine snapped him out of his daze, and he turned to see a black-and-white SUV. Arnold stood there, with a strange look on his face. “Shall we?” he asked, pointing to the car. Darius nodded, moving to the car; he was directed to the back seat, which was well decorated and made for a high figure. He sat down, with Arnold sitting right next to him. The car's engine fired up, and they drove off. Darius stared out

Darius kept his eyes on Arnold, rage filling his heart as he stared at the man, trying to control it, knowing it would get him nowhere. “You knew, you knew that I was innocent…yet you stood there and let them take me in. I was telling everyone that I was innocent, yet no one batted an eye.” Darius kept his voice low, but it still sent chills down the spines of all the men there. Arnold lowered his head, clutching his fists on the cold concrete. “It was an order from the supreme elders; I couldn't go against them…” he spoke slowly, his mind running through all the options he had to make. “I had a family, and if I wasn't-” “You obeyed their order like their puppy,” Darius spoke again, his voice colder and more detached. “Trading the very justice you solely side with for a seat on the upper class.” “It never crossed your mind that I had a family, that I was a child who witnessed something beyond my little mind. What did you do? You threw me into this hellhole and left me to die!”
