Morning arrived with a quiet, golden glow.

Soft sunlight slipped through the massive floor to ceiling windows of the penthouse, painting the room in warmth. Below, the city was already buzzing with traffic and noise, but inside the suite, the silence felt sacred.

Avery was the first to wake.

She didn't get up immediately. Instead, she stayed perfectly still watching him. Robert was asleep beside her, his features were completely relaxed. His arm was draped loosely over her waist, his breathing slow and rhythmic. In the morning light, he didn't look like a mysterious man anymore — he just looked peaceful.

She found herself smiling.

The memories of the night before played back like a movie, the shared laughter, the way they leaned into each other on the couch, and the spark of that first kiss. Her cheeks turned a soft pink.

Gently, so she wouldn't wake him, she slipped out of his embrace and headed into the bathroom.

A few minutes later, the silence was broken by a low vibration.

Robert’s phone was buzzing on the bedside table. His eyes snapped open instantly— no grogginess. He glanced at the screen.

Father.

He stared at the word for a heartbeat before answering. "Good morning Father."

"I assume you're alright?" his father’s deep voice echoed through the line.

"I’m fine," Robert replied, his voice calm.

There was a heavy pause on the other end. Then, the question came. "Did you use your powers?"

Robert’s gaze hardened. He sat up, the sheets sliding down his chest. "Yes."

"Explain how it happened." His father said coldly.

"I was cornered," Robert said simply. "My old landlord showed up with about twenty five men. They came to intimidate me and threaten Anna."

"Then?"

"I stopped them, all of them."

The line went quiet again. He could hear his father exhale slowly. "That move has drawn eyes, Robert. Unnecessary attention. People are going to start looking for you. Some will want to test you. Others will want to crush you."

Robert didn't flinch. "I expected as much."

"I am sending protection," his father stated firmly. "A group of top martial artists in the world are on flights now to secure you. I can also send a fleet of Armies, if that’s what it takes. They will stay by your side and prepare you for what’s coming."

"You know I don’t want that," Robert cut in, his voice soft but firm. "I don’t need an army, I’ll be fine father."

"You are underestimating the danger—"

"I’m not," Robert interrupted gently. "But if you're determined to send protection... don't send it to me. Send it to Anna and Avery."

"It should be in secret," Robert added. "They can't know about what's happening. Especially Avery, she deserves to feel safe, not watched."

"So you trust this girl?" his father asked.

Robert’s eyes softened with a small smile. "Yes. I do."

"Very well," his father sighed. "But be careful, Robert. The world is watching now."

The call ended just as the bathroom door clicked open. Avery stepped out, patting her damp hair with a towel.

"I heard something," she said softly, walking toward him. "What are you sending to Anna and me?"

Robert watched her for a second, and a faint, playful smile formed on his lips. "A gift for you both, it's meant to be a surprise, but I guess you heard it all."

Her eyes widened with curiosity. "Is it something crazy?"

"Very." He responded

She laughed, the sound like a melody, and walked over to the bed. "You've surprised me enough Robert," she whispered, leaning down to press a soft kiss to his lips. "Last night was... it was the best. You really made my day."

Robert reached up, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "I’m glad I did."

For a moment, the world felt perfect. But then, the clock on the wall dinged, reminding them of the real world.

"I should probably go," Avery said, her voice full of reluctance. She called her driver and finished getting ready. At the door, she turned back with a playful wink. "Don’t miss me too much, okay?"

Robert smirked. "No promises."

She smiled and disappeared into the hallway. The suite felt suddenly empty. A few seconds later, his phone buzzed again.

It was Anna.

"I hope your little date is over," Anna squeaked the moment he picked up. "I need a ride to school, big brother."

Robert rubbed his temples. "I’m already late for my own classes, Anna. How do you expect me to get you there on time?"

"Then buy me a car," she shot back instantly. "That way I never have to bug you again."

Robert chuckled. "Fine. Get ready, I’m coming to get you."

"Where are you?" She asked

"BGMH. I'm in a different suite, I’ll meet you in the garage."

The engine of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire roared like controlled thunder as they pulled into the school parking lot.

The second the car rolled past the gates, everything seemed to slow down, students froze in their tracks. Conversations stopped and dozens of phones were pulled out.

"Is that...?"

"No way. That’s a Bugatti la voiture noire!"

Robert parked the car smoothly.

At the exact same moment, a bright red Ferrari 458 Italia roared in from the other side. Jane stepped out, looking confident and composed— until she saw the black shadow of the Bugatti. Her smile stiffened.

The passenger door opened, and Anna stepped out, looking like she belonged in a high fashion magazine.

Jane’s eyes went wide with shock for a split second, but she quickly masked it with a forced laugh.

"It’s just a car," Jane said loudly to her group of friends. "It’s nothing special. I’ll have something better before the day runs out. Just watch." She flipped her hair, trying to look bored.

Robert stepped out of the car briefly. He reached into his pocket and handed Anna a sleek, matte black card. "Spend it on whatever you want," he said casually.

Anna stared at the card. "What is this?"

"My card," he teased.

She rolled her eyes. "I can see that, genius."

He leaned in closer, his voice lowered. "It would decline. It can handle anything you throw at it, use it as you please."

Her smile stretched to her ears. "Thank you Robert."

He got back into the driver's seat and zoomed off, leaving a crowd of whispers and jealousy. Anna stood there for a moment, feeling the weight of the card in her hand, before turning toward the school entrance.

She was halfway down the corridor when her path was blocked.

Jane and her three female best friends were standing there, arms folded, blocking the way. Jane’s smile wasn't fake anymore— it was like a predator who had trapped their prey.

"Well," Jane said softly, her eyes narrowing. "It looks like you and I need to have a little talk."

Robert pushed his chair back and stood up. The sound wasn't loud, but in a room that big, it was enough to get everyone’s attention. Almost instinctively, everyone else started standing up too, their chairs sliding across the polished floor one after another.Anna was up first, then Avery. Professor Darby took a second to straighten his jacket, and Rose followed him, still looking around the dining hall like she was afraid it might vanish if she blinked. Then the butler stepped up behind them like a shadow.Robert gave them a small, relaxed smile. “Come on,” he said, and started walking. The Graham Oasis was even more intense at night. The hallways had a soft, golden glow that bounced off the marble floors, making them look like mirrors. Through the massive glass walls, you could see fountains lit up in white light and gardens that looked more like outdoor art galleries.Anna kept turning her head from side to side. “Okay,” she muttered, mostly to herself. “I will definitely get lost

  • CHAPTER 101: Dining with the Graham's

The silverware was clinking, and everyone was talking in that low, happy way you do when the food is so good that it actually calms you down. For a while, nobody said much— they were all just busy experiencing a meal that most people only see in movies.Anna wasn’t the type to sit in silence for long, though. She dropped her fork after a massive bite of steak and just shook her head. "Okay," she said, looking dead serious. "This has to be illegal. Seriously, someone should be in jail for making a steak this good. There should be laws against this."Robert turned to her looking half amused. "Illegal?"Avery chuckled softly beside her.Professor Darby smiled politely while cutting another piece of lamb.Rose ate quietly, still taking everything in— the room, the food, the fact that the boy she had raised was the heir to the most powerful family on earth.Anna took another bite and leaned back again."Yeah," Anna said, pointing her fork at him like she was making a legal argument. "It ju

  • CHAPTER 100: The Table of a Trillionaire

When the doors opened, Anna actually stopped breathing. It wasn't on purpose, she gasped and her lungs just seemed to stall out.“...Oh my God,” she whispered.Avery, Rose, and the Professor were right behind her, and they all had that same reaction of silence. It was that heavy kind of quiet you get when your brain is trying to make sense of something it wasn't built to process. The dining hall was massive— easily the size of a cathedral— with a dome ceiling fifty feet up covered in gold leaf murals, kings and leaders placing down their crowns and bowing before a single throne. Huge diamond chandeliers hung down like frozen waterfalls, and the polished black marble floor was so clean it looked like a mirror. But the real showstopper was the table. It was a single, fifty foot slab of black obsidian with gold designs that stretched almost the whole length of the hall.“That table has to be forty feet long,” Anna muttered.“Fifty,” Professor Darby corrected softly, squinting through hi

  • CHAPTER 99: A Stage Fit for Kings

The Ocean Gallery started to fade behind them as they followed the butler down yet another long corridor. Anna was still looking over her shoulder every few seconds.“I’m definitely going to be dreaming about that whale shark tonight,” she muttered.Avery laughed. “You’re acting like we just stepped onto another planet.”“It felt like one,” Anna shot back.Professor Darby was still shaking his head as he walked. “In forty years of studying history,” he said quietly, “I never imagined I’d just casually stroll past artifacts that national museums would literally start wars over.”Rose had a faint smile on her face, but the look in her eyes showed she was just as amazed. “This doesn't even feel like a house anymore. It’s more like another world.”The butler slowed down a bit and turned back to face them. “If I may ask... do you all enjoy music?”Anna blinked, caught off guard. “Music?”“Classical, perhaps? Orchestral? The opera?”Avery’s face lit up immediately. “Actually, yeah. I love i

  • CHAPTER 98: A Palace Beyond Imagination

The butler led them down a long hallway lined with polished marble and soft golden lighting. Even the air in this part of the Oasis felt different— cooler, quieter, almost sacred.Anna kept glancing left and right like someone walking through a museum they weren’t supposed to be in.“This place just keeps getting bigger,” she muttered.Avery laughed softly. “You’re acting like a kid in a theme park.”“I feel like one,” Anna said immediately. “I thought the medical wing was impressive, but this… this feels like something out of a movie.”The butler stopped in front of a pair of tall elevator doors made entirely of brushed silver.“If you would all step inside,” he said politely. The doors opened silently. The interior of the elevator was larger than some hotel rooms. Soft lights ran along the walls, and the floor was made of a single piece of polished black stone.Professor Darby stepped inside slowly, adjusting his glasses as he looked around.“This elevator alone probably costs more

  • CHAPTER 97: The Weight of the Throne

The hallway outside the medical wing was quiet, but it didn't feel empty. Guards in dark suits were posted every few yards, blending into the shadows cast by the marble walls. The gold trim along the floor caught the soft overhead light, tracing long, expensive lines down the corridor.Abram led the way with Robert walking right beside him. They didn't say much at first, their footsteps the only sound echoing off the polished stone as they headed for the massive gold railed staircase.“Do you actually trust them?” Abram asked eventually.Robert knew his father wasn't one for small talk, so he didn't have to ask who he was talking about. “Avery? Yeah, I do.”“And her father?”They started up the stairs together.“Avery is a good person,” Robert said, keeping his voice steady.Abram glanced over at him. “Good people can still cause problems, Robert.”“Not her,” Robert said with a half smile. “She’s still figuring out how our world works. Honestly, she doesn't seem to care about the fami
