The Bertha Graham Memorial Hotel wasn’t just a building. It was a legend carved into the sky.

Rising like a crown of glass and gold over the city, the BGMH stood as the world’s first and only twelve-star hotel—a place so exclusive that even billionaires had to beg for a reservation. Every inch of it had been built in memory of Bertha Graham, Robert’s biological mother, who had passed away five years before his exile. Abram Graham had poured his grief into this masterpiece: a tourist attraction, a status symbol, and a fortress of luxury all in one.

The hotel didn’t just earn money—it generated over $200 billion a year. And the rule was ironclad: no one whose net worth fell below one billion dollars was allowed past the front gates. Everyone knew it. It was the kind of fact people whispered like gospel.

So when the taxi pulled up to the sweeping marble entrance, Anna’s jaw dropped.

She stared up at the towering structure—fountains that sprayed water in perfect synchronized patterns, crystal chandeliers visible even from the street, doormen in tailored uniforms who moved like royalty themselves. “Robert… we’re going to get turned away. You know that, right? They don’t let people like us even breathe the air here.”

Robert paid the driver and stepped out calmly. “Just follow me.”

Before Anna could argue, three matte-black Lamborghini Uruses glided to a stop beside them, engines growling like satisfied lions. Valets rushed forward as doors opened.

Edward stepped out first, adjusting his cufflinks.

Malcom followed, smirking.

Then Chloe, Silver, Tracy, Julie—and finally Jane, who spotted Anna and Robert immediately.

Jane’s laugh cut through the night air. “Well, look at this! What are orphaned peasants doing at the BGMH? Don’t you know this place is reserved for billionaires only? Or did you forget you’re broke?”

Edward strolled up, keys dangling from his fingers as he tossed them to a valet. “What’s the matter, Robert? You think you’re one of us now? You and your little sister decided to play dress-up and sneak into the big leagues?”

The group exploded into laughter.

Chloe crossed her arms, eyes cold. “He could never be rich. That little miracle of adoption? It died the day Dylan did. All his hope went straight into the grave with him.”

Anna stepped forward, small fists clenched. “Don’t talk about my father like that! He believed in you, Chloe. He thought you were a woman of dignity. That’s why he and your father planned to join you and Robert together. He saw something good in you.”

Chloe’s smile turned sharp. “Shut your mouth, little girl. You don’t know anything. If Dylan really wanted a future for his precious adopted bastard, he wouldn’t have died and dumped you all into the gutter.”

Jane clapped her hands. “Exactly! Chloe’s right. He was a bastard from the start. Always was.”

Robert’s voice cut through the noise like a blade. “Enough. You’ve had your fun. Now go your separate ways.”

Malcom stepped right up to him, chest puffed. “What did you say? We’re billionaire heirs and heiresses. We belong here. You? You’re just a bastard pauper who wandered too far from the dumpster.”

Robert’s hands curled into fists at his sides. The old anger flared hot—he wanted to wipe that smirk off Malcom’s face right there. But he held back. Not yet.

Edward tilted his head, mocking. “Why so tense, Robert? You gonna do something to Malcom? Go ahead. Try it.”

Malcom cracked his knuckles. “Come on. Try something. See what happens.”

Julie raised a hand. “Boys, cool off. Fighting is prohibited here. You know the rules.”

Tracy nodded. “Relax, Malcom. You’ll get him tomorrow. Beat the hell out of him when we’re not on Graham property.”

Anna suddenly laughed—sharp, fearless. “A thousand Malcoms couldn’t stand a chance against Robert.”

The group froze.

Malcom’s face twisted. “What did you just say?”

Anna lifted her chin. “You heard me. You wouldn’t last ten seconds.”

A few hours ago, she never would have dared say it. A few hours ago, she had watched her brother take down three grown men like they were paper dolls. She still didn’t understand how—how the quiet, bruised boy who used to come home crying from school had turned into… this. But she had seen it with her own eyes. And right now, she believed every word.

The group bristled, anger flashing in their eyes.

But then they noticed the elite security guards watching—tall, silent, armed, and utterly still. Everyone knew the consequences of breaking the peace at BGMH. A fight here meant instant banishment, million-dollar fines, maybe even jail time. No one crossed the Grahams lightly.

Edward exhaled through his nose. “Fine. Let’s go inside. We’ll deal with him in school tomorrow.”

Malcom leaned close to Robert’s ear. “I beat you bloody two weeks ago. Tomorrow I’ll do it again—somewhere without cameras.”

Robert said nothing.

As the group turned toward the entrance, Jane paused and whispered loudly to the nearest security guard. “Those two? They’re not just beggars trying to pollute the place. They’re thieves. Came to rob your clients. Send them out immediately.”

The guards exchanged glances, then started toward Robert and Anna.

Anna tensed, ready to bolt.

Robert put a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Don’t move. We’re not going anywhere.”

Anna whispered, frantic. “Robert, what are you doing? They’re going to throw us out!”

“Don’t worry,” he said calmly. “The penthouse suite will be our home for the next seven days.”

Anna stared at him.

Had he finally lost his mind?

The security guards approached.

“What business do you have here?” one asked professionally.

Robert didn’t argue.

Robert reached into his pocket and pulled out a single golden card—simple, elegant, glowing faintly under the lights.

He handed it to the lead guard without a word.

The guard took it, then froze.

His partner leaned over. Their eyes widened.

They pulled out a small verification device and swiped the card.

The screen lit up.

[ROBERT GRAHAM:

SOLE HEIR TO THE GRAHAM EMPIRE…

NEW OWNER OF BERTHA GRAHAM MEMORIAL HOTEL…

AND BULLION CORPORATION]

A photo of Robert appeared—clear, unmistakable.

The guards stared at the screen, then at the young man in the torn hoodie standing in front of them.

It was him.

Their new boss.

The one the entire staff had been warned about that very evening. The announcement had gone out to every employee: the sole heir of the Graham family had been appointed as the new owner of BGMH. He might arrive in disguise. Be on your absolute best behavior.

The guards dropped to one knee in perfect unison.

“Young Master Robert!” they said together, heads bowed.

Heads turned.

Guests outside stopped. Whispers rippled through the crowd.

Anna’s mouth fell open. “Robert…?”

He glanced down at her, voice low. “Stay calm.”

Robert quickly motioned.

“Stand. Don’t draw attention.”

The guards rose quickly. “Sir, how may we serve you?”

Robert nodded toward the entrance. “Take us to the private penthouse suite. The one that costs nearly $200 million.”

Anna blinked. “The… what?”

Before anyone could react further, a sharply dressed woman—senior manager, name tag gleaming—strode over. “What is the meaning of this? Why are you leading these two peasants inside? Didn’t you hear the announcement? Our new owner is arriving any moment!”

The guards didn’t speak.

The manager snapped her fingers. “Remove them at once! We cannot have beggars here when the Young Master arrives!”

Anna shrank back. This was it. Robert’s trick had been exposed.

But the guards simply handed her the golden card.

The manager snatched it, rolling her eyes. “What is this supposed to prove? Hurry up and—”

She froze when she looked at it.

She pulled out her phone, typed in the verification code, and the same profile loaded.

Her face drained of color.

She looked at Robert—really looked at him—then back at the screen.

Slowly, she sank to her knees.

“Young Master Robert…” she whispered. “Please forgive me. I didn’t know.”

Anna’s eyes were so wide they looked ready to pop out.

Robert’s voice stayed calm. “Get up. Lead us to the private suite. And tell no one yet. My sister and I need rest. I’ll meet the CEO tomorrow morning before I leave.”

The manager scrambled to her feet. “Of course, sir. Right away.”

She dismissed the guards with a quick gesture. “Return to your posts. I’ll handle this personally.”

She led them inside—past the stunned doormen, past the glittering lobby where guests whispered and stared, straight to the private elevator reserved only for the highest echelons.

The ride up was silent.

When the doors opened, the penthouse suite unfolded before them like a dream.

Gold accents on every surface. Ruby and diamond inlays catching the light. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Private infinity pool. A cinema room. A full spa. Bedrooms bigger than their old apartment.

Anna stood frozen in the doorway.

Even when Dylan was alive—when they were rich—she had never seen anything like this.

Robert walked in and dropped onto one of the massive leather sofas. “Get comfortable. Order whatever you want.”

Anna blinked. “Like… room service?”

“Anything. Celebrity chefs. Whatever you’re hungry for.”

She hesitated, then picked up the sleek tablet on the table. Her fingers hovered. “Can I… can I really get a celebrity chef to come here? Tonight?”

Robert smiled—just a little. “Even if you want the best chef in the world to cook for you personally, they’ll come.”

Anna’s eyes sparkled. She started dialing.

While she excitedly ordered—naming chefs she’d only seen on TV—Robert leaned back and closed his eyes.

The weight settled on him then.

Not just the penthouse. Not just the hotel.

The Graham empire.

The Council of Rulers.

The ritual in seven nights.

He was no longer the adopted boy who got beaten up in schoolyards. He was Robert Graham—sole heir, future Master of the most powerful council on earth.

And tomorrow, the revenge would begin.

But tonight?

Tonight he let Anna laugh and order food like the child she was supposed to be.

For the first time in two years, she sounded happy.

And that, he realized, was worth more than all the billions in the world.

He was still standing in the garden, wrapped in shadows, but his posture was different now. He looked relaxed and composed again. Whatever crack had shown in his face earlier was gone, replaced by that same old calm.“Just one more thing,” Frederick said.Robert didn’t say anything, but he didn't keep walking either.Frederick took a few slow steps forward. He kept his hands at his sides, acting like the tension from a few minutes ago had never happened. “I’ll keep it simple,” he added. It wasn't that he cared about the offer, it was the timing that didn't fit.Frederick watched him closely, a fa

The fire was still burning behind him.The flames moved slowly now, no longer wild and loud, but steady and calm. It was the kind of fire that didn’t need to hurry because it had already finished its job. Robert didn't bother looking back at the wreck. He stood perfectly still, the red light from the burning car stretching his shadow across the dirt like a second person standing there with him.Across from him, Frederick didn't move either. The air between them felt heavy, like a weight was pressing down on everything. It wasn't an explosion, just a deep, cold pressure. It felt like something was about to break, but neither of them wanted to be the first one to lose their cool.Robert took a step forward. It was a slow, calm move. His eyes hadn't gone back to normal yet. That faint blue light still sat behind them— not flashing or jumping around, just staying there. It was a quiet power, watching every move Frederick made.Frederick tilted his head, looking Robert up and down. “Care

“Brother.”The word sat in the air like a weight that didn't belong there. Robert didn’t say anything right away. He just stood his ground, looking at the man in front of him the same way a person looks at a threat they already know how to handle.“I’m not your brother, Frederick,” Robert said. His voice was flat, colder than the wind blowing through the trees. For a moment, the only sound was the leaves rustling. Then Frederick let out a short laugh. “Is that how you greet me?” he asked. “After all the time that's passed?”Robert didn’t look away. “If this is your way of reaching out, you picked the wrong path.”Frederick tilted his head, watching Robert with a look of mock curiosity. “Wrong? I showed you a video.”“You sent a threat.” Robert responded.Frederick’s mouth twisted into a small smile. “Did I? No one touched them, Robert. No one got hurt.” He paused, letting the silence settle between them. “But you moved, didn’t you? You left everything behind and came straight to me.

  • Chapter 168: The Road That Doesn’t Turn Back

The road was empty. No headlights, no traffic, just a long stretch of black asphalt through the dark. The Koenigsegg Regera moved with a quiet power, staying low to the ground like it was part of the road itself. Robert’s hands tightened on the wheel for a second before he pressed his foot down. The car didn't hesitate. The engine revved, and suddenly the world around him began to stretch. The streetlights blurred into long, golden lines, and the distance between one heartbeat and the next felt thinner. The speed climbed fast— too fast for any normal person to handle. The needle swept past 200, then 240, then 280. It didn't stop there. He stepped harder and the car vibrated but it remained on track and hit 312 miles per hour. The road ahead stayed straight and empty, almost like it had been cleared just for him.Robert didn't slow down. He kept his eyes locked on the horizon, his focus as steady as the machine he was driving. The night air pressed hard against the glass, but the car

Robert stood perfectly still in the middle of the room. The video on his phone finished loading, and for a second, the screen stayed black. Then the video started playing. His eyes narrowed as the image became clear. It was the penthouse. Not just any part of it, but the exact room he had walked out of only minutes ago. The camera angle was steady and far away, positioned like a predator watching from the trees. Then he saw them.Avery, Anna, and Rose. They were laughing together. Avery was sitting on the couch, her hand moving slightly as she spoke, the red diamond on her finger reflecting the light with every motion. Anna was pacing again, but the stress was gone, she was talking fast and acting something out, making Rose laugh. It looked normal, they were happy. And that was exactly why it felt so dangerous.Robert didn't blink. The camera wasn't inside the room, it was outside, zoomed in through the glass from a distance. It was stable and deliberate. The Ferrari didn’t slow down until the city started to thin out and the bright lights of the center were far behind them. The streetlamps stretched across the road in long, glowing lines that reflected off the hood as Robert drove straight through the quiet streets. Avery sat beside him, the smile she had been wearing at the restaurant completely gone. Her hand rested lightly on his arm, her fingers staying close as if she didn't want to lose that connection even for a second.Neither of them said much. The weight of those missed calls sat between them, making the air in the car feel heavy. It wasn't normal. Not for Anna to call four times in a row, and certainly not for Rose to do the same.Robert turned into the hotel entrance without slowing down. The guards at the front recognized the car immediately and stepped aside, the gates swinging open before the engine had even begun to settle. He didn't stop at the front. He drove the Ferrari down into the underground parking, the roar
