Stanwell's face twitched.

“How dare you?” he barked. “You got a death wish or what?”

The crowd erupted again — laughter, gasps, shouts.

“Yo, this kid got some nerve!”

“He crazy or just stupid?”

“Somebody tell him who Stanwell is!”

“Bro’s gonna get folded in the first minute.”

Stanwell stepped forward, eyes burning.

“You come in here and talk like you own the place?” he said, slamming his gloves together. “You’re dead meat.”

Jaden raised one brow, then looked down at his gloves and started loosening them.

Stanwell frowned. “What the hell are you doing?”

“To make this fair,” Jaden said, pulling one glove off slowly, “I’ll only use one hand.”

He let the glove drop to the floor. The crowd gasped.

Then he took off the other glove too and tossed it outside the ring.

“You know what? Let’s take it a step further,” he said. “If you can land just one punch on me... I’ll let you walk out with your pride.”

The whole dome went silent.

Stanwell’s face turned red.

“You cocky piece of—!”

The Verrick clan had always been a nest of old, cunning foxes. There was no way they could suddenly transform into good people overnight. Their greed ran deep, woven into every fiber of the family. Why would they hand over a company worth hundreds of millions to Vane without strings attached?Something was off. There had to be a catch. Perhaps there was a hidden debt, a scandal, or even a ticking time bomb buried within Helix Group’s finances.Jaden, however, remained unfazed. He watched his father-in-law’s excitement with a quiet, calculating expression. If Helix Group was a bomb wrapped in gold, he would simply peel away the gold and send the explosion right back to the Verricks. That was his way.But Vane, seeing the sheer joy and pride on his father’s face, knew he couldn’t back down. If he faltered now, he would disappoint everyone—and worse, make enemies of people who had already shown goodwill. So, he swallowed his doubts. The risk didn’t matter. He was ready. The next day, Van

But Nora still looked uneasy. “This is… too much. What if we make a mistake one day and you kick us out again?” Her voice trembled slightly, betraying her worry. She couldn't bring herself to fully believe his words.Elias grinned reassuringly. “Nora, this time Dad is completely earnest. He wouldn’t do something like this without meaning it.”Aiden leaned forward, his voice brimming with excitement. “That’s right. Dad has even decided to hand over our biggest subsidiary, Helix Group, to you and your family. From now on, every cent Helix group makes will be yours!”Vane and Nora weren’t the only ones caught off guard. Jaden and Selena exchanged glances, both silently acknowledging that the Verricks had truly gone all in this time. At this rate… pigs might fly.Vane, ever honest and kind-hearted, felt a lump in his throat. His eyes shimmered as he looked at his father. The old man had come personally to apologize, to mend the rift, and now he was giving Vane Helix Group—a company worth

“How do you intend to have someone bear the cost of the damage?” Xander Verrick asked, his brows furrowed, tone edged with suspicion.Elias Verrick leaned back in his chair, a cold smile tugging at his lips. “Didn’t we already promise to hand over our subsidiary, the Helix Group, to the Ortega family?”Xander nodded slowly. “Yes… and?”Elias’s expression hardened. “Since the Ortegas clearly intend to wipe us out, why should we gift them anything? No. Instead of handing Helix Group to the Ortegas, we should let Vane’s family have it.”Xander’s face froze in disbelief. “What? Give Helix Group to that ingrate, Vane?” His voice rose with outrage.Elias remained calm, his eyes glinting with calculation. “That’s right. We won’t just give him Helix Group. We’ll also invite him back into the family.”Xander’s jaw tightened. “I chased them out myself, and now you’re suggesting we crawl back to them? Invite them into our clan, and hand them a company?”Before Elias could answer, Aiden leaned fo

“Actually, he didn’t command anyone,” Selena Verrick interjected quickly, her tone calm but firm. “Jaden just asked for backup from the military to help save Uncle.”A wave of realization washed over the Verrick family. No wonder. There was no way—at least in their eyes—that a jobless man like Jaden Rift could command soldiers with a snap of his fingers. That idea was simply too outrageous to accept. The family members exchanged glances, each silently nodding to themselves. Their conclusion was unanimous. The explanation made more sense. Troops had been stationed in Ironvale City for weeks, part of the government’s sweeping anti-terrorism campaign. From the Harrison Hart's syndicate to Kent Duvan’s mercenary crew, every major troublemaker in the city had been wiped out in the last two months.Jaden Rift, to them, was nothing more than a lucky man who had managed to send out a distress signal at the right time. The military had done the heavy lifting, not him.Elias Verrick’s kidnapper

Despite the chaos and fear that had consumed him earlier, Elias Verrick kept his mouth shut, unable to form coherent words. His eyes remained glued to Jaden, a mix of shock and trepidation plastered across his face. The Jeep weaved through the quiet streets of Ironvale City, finally pulling up in front of the Verrick family mansion. The night was still, but the tension inside the house was palpable. Every family member had remained awake, unable to rest after hearing about Elias’s kidnapping. The thought of contacting the police had been abandoned almost immediately—no one dared risk Elias’s life further.“Uncle is back!”Paul Verrick, Aiden’s young son, came running from the driveway, his small legs carrying him as fast as they could, his voice ringing with unfiltered joy.Xander Verrick’s face lit up at the sound of his grandson’s excitement. The rest of the family quickly followed, hurrying toward the front door, their anxiety now mixed with relief.Outside the living room, Elias

Ponytail’s face twisted with rage at Jaden Rift’s words. His finger hovered over the trigger, and he prepared to fire a few rounds, his hands shaking slightly with a mix of anger and anticipation. But before he could even squeeze the trigger, shadows emerged from the darkness surrounding the abandoned building. The night was pierced by the sharp, deafening cracks of gunfire.Boom! Boom! Boom!Elias Verrick dropped to the floor, his body shaking uncontrollably as panic coursed through him. Dust and debris flew into the air with each shot. Selena clung to Jaden, hiding behind him as if her very life depended on his presence. The chaos lasted only moments, yet it felt like an eternity. When the echoes faded, an eerie silence settled over the building.By then, Ponytail and his men lay sprawled across the cold concrete floor, drenched in blood. Not a single one had the chance to fire a shot. Their weapons, once a symbol of threat, had been rendered useless.Kaelus and the Elite Eight emer
