Writing this chapter honestly hurt… 😭 Ares has become one of my favorite characters, and seeing him pushed this far was painful to write. Also… I have no idea what possessed me to make Marshal Long this powerful and almost impossible to kill. 😭 I think I created a monster. But what do you guys think?

The End Of The Iron Warlord Arc
Author’s Note And with that… the Ares Voss Arc officially comes to an end. Honestly, this arc means a lot to me. Ares began this mission carrying something far heavier than his hammer—guilt. He had spent years blaming himself for the destruction of Oakhaven, for the death of Elana, and for the unborn child he never got the chance to hold. Even after becoming a Warlord, a part of him still believed he had failed the people he loved most. That is why his battle against Marshal was never just a physical fight. It was a fight against his own despair. When he collapsed, he was given the one thing he had desired for years—a peaceful life with his wife and daughter. Many people would have chosen to stay in that dream forever. But Ares chose to wake up. He chose duty over comfort, pain over illusion, and courage over escape. To me, that is the true meaning of strength. Strength is not being unable to cry. Strength is not never feeling fear. Strength is standing back up even when your he

Within minutes, the tension that had threatened to erupt into all-out war gradually subsided. Black Covenant soldiers reluctantly stepped aside, creating a path toward the waiting military convoy. Although every one of them wore expressions of hatred, none dared fire a single shot.Ares slowly walked forward with Hannah and Donald supporting him from either side. The moment they crossed into Special Force territory, cheers erupted among the soldiers.“They’re back!”“The Iron Warlord made it!”“He actually rescued them!”Even seasoned veterans couldn’t hide their admiration. Many had expected the mission to end in tragedy.Instead…Ares had infiltrated Facility Zero alone…Defeated countless enemies…Overcome a monster like Marshal Long…And completed his mission.Hope quickly walked over, stopping in front of the towering giant. She folded her arms.“So…”Ares smiled weakly.“So…”The two stared at each other for several seconds. Then Hope smacked him across the shoulder.“Are you ou

Timothy’s jaw tightened as he stared through the massive entrance at the overwhelming military force that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. The confidence that had been plastered across his face moments earlier slowly began to crack, though he stubbornly refused to show it. Around him, dozens of his officers nervously exchanged glances while awaiting his orders. The atmosphere had shifted completely. What had once been an execution ground had transformed into a battlefield where one wrong decision could ignite a war.Timothy suddenly burst into laughter.“You think this is enough to threaten me?”His voice echoed through the courtyard as he took several steps forward, locking eyes with Hope through the open gates.“You’re standing outside one of Black Covenant’s most heavily fortified facilities. There are over a thousand armed personnel stationed inside Facility Zero. Elite soldiers, security divisions, experimental units… if war breaks out, you’re the ones at a disadvantage.”H

The muzzles of hundreds of rifles remained fixed on Ares, Hannah, and Donald. The corridor had become a dead end, every possible escape route sealed by an ocean of armed soldiers waiting for a single command. Blood continued dripping from Ares’ battered body, forming a crimson trail beneath his feet. His breathing had grown heavier with every passing second, yet the giant refused to kneel. His swollen fingers tightened around the handle of his war hammer while he planted himself firmly between the Winston family and the army before them.Donald clenched his fists despite his weakened condition and stepped forward slightly. “Timothy… stop this.”His voice echoed through the corridor.“We’re brothers.”Timothy merely looked at him with cold indifference.Hannah’s eyes reddened as she stared at the man she had once called uncle.“Uncle… please,” she pleaded. “Enough already. We’re family. Why are you doing this? What will you gain if we’re all dead?”For a brief moment, Timothy lowered h

Despite everything…Ares smiled. It wasn’t the confident grin of the Iron Warlord.Nor the fearless smile of a warrior facing impossible odds.It was simply the exhausted smile of a man relieved that he had managed to protect the people entrusted to him.“Thank you…” he murmured weakly.Hannah immediately shook her head as tears filled her eyes.“No… it should be us thanking you.”She looked around at the corridor that had been transformed into a battlefield, remembering everything this man had endured simply to save two strangers.“You fought your way through an entire fortress. You rescued us when everyone else had abandoned us. You stood between us and a monster, and you nearly gave your life for people you’d never even met.”Donald slowly lowered his head in deep respect.“I owe you my life, Iron Warlord. If not for you… my daughter and I would’ve died in this place.”Ares let out a faint chuckle that quickly turned into a painful cough.“I’m…” He struggled to keep his eyes open.

Marshal stared at the enormous fist descending toward him, and for the first time in years, he felt something he thought he had long forgotten. Fear. Real fear. His pupils trembled violently as every shred of survival instinct finally overwhelmed the madness consuming his mind. Every fiber of his being screamed at him to move, to dodge, to counterattack—to do anything that would stop that monstrous fist from reaching him. Yet his body refused to obey. Both arms were twisted into unnatural angles, his legs no longer responded to his commands, and several of his ribs had collapsed beneath the relentless barrage of blows. Never in his life had he imagined that his own body would one day become a prison.“N-No…” His lips quivered uncontrollably as tears blurred his vision. “Please…” The gigantic fist continued to grow larger, eclipsing everything else before his terrified eyes. “I don’t want to—”BOOOOM!!The punch crashed down like divine judgment.Marshal’s head slammed violently agains

He was never going to be let out, the asshat running the place would never let him just walk out. It wasn't ego, he didn't have a choice. The only way to escape with both hostages was to fight that thing. If he had run they would have died. His only job was to get them out. He was doing his job
Agreed!!!!!
Not happy at all, Ares needs to live!!! This was not good at all, now the freaking asshat Timothy is going to do something with Ares body and I will be even less happy about that!!! Fix this!!!! He needs to live somehow, I don't care how you do it, just fix this
