Aren returned to the river carrying the two long tree roots he had collected, a delighted smile spreading across his face. He handed them to Liora, but his excitement was so difficult to contain that he barely paid attention to where he placed them beside the riverbank.

Liora narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. “What's wrong with you?” she asked, tilting her head as she studied his unusually cheerful expression.

“Liora!” Aren called, moving closer to her. “You won't believe what just happene

Aren immediately turned and ran toward the cave entrance, but before he could cover much distance, the Inferno Falcon moved with incredible speed and appeared directly in front of him, blocking his escape. Its enormous wings spread across the cave, and the heat radiating from its body made the air even more unbearable.“How dare you trespass into my territory and steal from me!” the bird roared. Its voice was so powerful that the entire cave trembled, sending small rocks tumbling from the ceiling. Aren stared at the furious creature, whose glowing red eyes were fixed on him and Liora. The little fairy was so frightened that she quickly hid behind Aren's thick black hair, unwilling to expose herself to the terrifying S-rank monster.“Oops,” Aren muttered as he reached for Ashbringer and drew the sword from its sheath, pointing its blade toward the enormous bird.“Do you dare challenge me, little thief?” th

Aren, Zeke, and Liora moved carefully through the dark cave, making sure their footsteps did not disturb anything around them. The deeper they went, the hotter the air became, until even Aren began to struggle with the temperature. The cave was surprisingly filled with green plants, but the heat inside it was almost unbearable.“Oh my! There are so many green plants in here, yet the air is hotter than the middle of a volcano,” Liora murmured, fanning her face with one hand as she tried to make herself comfortable.Aren continued forward until they reached the centre of the cave, where they finally spotted the creature they had come to find. A gigantic bird with a massive beak was sleeping peacefully on the ground, its enormous body rising and falling with each deep breath. Directly in front of it stood a small tree, barely fifty centimetres tall, with several beautiful dark-blue fruits growing from its branches.Liora stared at the fruits with curiosity because she had never seen Cind

Their plan was simple. Aren, Zeke, and Liora would sneak into the cave where the Inferno Falcon lived, collect some Cinderberries, and return to the carriage before the monster noticed them. However, they soon discovered that getting there would not be as easy as they had expected. The three of them were now crouching behind a thick group of bushes, watching a large flock of Thunderbreaks flying across their path. They had taken cover as soon as they spotted the creatures, but the birds showed no signs of leaving.“So, what do we do now?” Liora whispered.Zeke shrugged helplessly. He had no idea how they could get past the flock without attracting attention, so he turned toward Aren, hoping he might have a better idea.Aren looked from Zeke to Liora and then back at the birds. He was already struggling with the unbearable heat, and hiding in the bushes only made him more uncomfortable. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and leaned closer to Liora.“You said Thunderbreaks are A-rank

Chapter 14After spending the night resting beside the river, Aren and his companions finally resumed their journey to Ravenwood City. The horse-drawn carriage moved along the forest road, passing through a wide valley as the morning sun climbed higher into the sky.At first, only a small portion of the sun had appeared above the horizon, but it gradually rose until its bright rays covered the surrounding land. The temperature increased with every passing hour, and the heat soon became unbearable inside the carriage.Aren pulled at the collar of his outer clothing before removing it completely, leaving only his white shirt.“Goodness! Is the weather always this scorching in this world?” he complained, wiping sweat from his forehead.Liora glanced at him from where she was sitting. “We're about to enter the Blazing Arboretum. The heat will get worse before we leave it.”“The Blazing Arboretum?” Aren repeated. Since he knew very little about the geography of this world, he had no idea w

Aren had been gone for quite some time just to find two tree roots, and now he had returned looking as though he had discovered a hidden treasure.“I met a phoenix!” Aren announced excitedly. He expected Liora to react with amazement, perhaps even flutter her golden wings and stare at him in disbelief. Instead, the little fairy merely tilted her head to one side and raised an eyebrow.“Are you sick?” she asked.Ar

Aren stood beside the riverbank while Liora used her magic to dry his body and clothes. His trousers had become completely soaked when he fell into the river while trying to catch the King Aquarius, and he had decided that letting a fairy handle the drying was much easier than waiting for everything to dry naturally.“There, all done!” Liora announced once the last traces of water had disappeared.Aren looked down at himself, checking his clothes and skin to make sure they were completely dry. Satisfied, he nodded and turned toward their catch. At least nine Aquarius fish lay on the riverbank, along with the enormous King Aquarius. Their wooden spears were still stuck through the fish, making it easier to keep them together. Aren had been proud of catching so many, but now that he had to transport them back to the campsite, he realized he had created a new problem for himself.“How am I supposed to carry all these fish?” he wondered aloud. “If I take them back a few at a time, we’ll w
